[X] Plan: home improvements

I think i like this plan better. Get swole this turn and attack on the next.

I'm both pro further preparation, and going for the fight. Both sound cool, but defeating the enemy should mean we no longer have to defend the dead, so going now is probably an action more efficient?
Assuming of course that we manage to beat the Devourer.

I'm pretty sure that we will be able to with the help of the Healing Domain and the Sky Child, considering that we managed to make it flee earlier, but there is a possibility that it will be stronger within it's "home".

... Also a nonzero chance of hell dice that won't allow us to succeed at anything.

@Sir LagsAlot

We can only assign the Herald to actions with the Sea domain, but when I asked Azel earlier he said we would have further opportunities to invite others like the Sky Child and Herald with us if the option won. I plan on taking the Herald with us, don't worry.
Yes, but you can still assign him to an action with a sea domain right now, and we can also take him with us later.

Would that be wise? A Herald action is already less than a 1 power action from us; taking it off early on top of that might just make matters complicated for when we need everyone to be at their full capacity. I'm also not too sure of the mechanics behind it alongside the narrative to be honest.

@Azel would you be willing to weigh in?

Do out people even know that we have a herald? We should start to cement them in our people's mind as our servant.

He fought just fine after doing his duties the last time the Devourer came around I don't see why that would change.

That depends on what your plans are for battling the Devourer. The 1 Power that the action itself costs covers only travel, since you have to leave your usual operational range, and you will not have any buffer if the search takes too long or if the Devourer refuses to play and stays on its island. It kept evading you to avoid an enagement on your hometurf against you and your Herald after all, so odds are slim that it will just charge at you and commit to a fight on the waterline where both the Sky Child, your and your Herald can freely attack it. Combat between divine entities is solely dependent on their rank and domain, but that doesn't mean you can't, say, burn down a forest with your Fire domain and some power to take the home advantage from a Forest spirit.

Either way, you can certainly assign the Herald to a task while you try to aquire the Healing domain. That just means it will have no buffer either when you go to war.

Don't like that we're fighting it so early. On the us side, this'll at least cement our friendship with Sky Child (if they survive). No better bonding moment than an all-out life or death battle :D

Yeah, this tells me we need more prep before fighting the snake. We don't even know the terrain since we have never explored the sea beyond our bay. It could just as easily evade us since we would be going in blind.

In light of recent information about wanting a buffer, I'll have to switch to this. Sorry dead bois :(

Yeah, this is suicide now. :/

Not to mention the whole "not in your nature to harm" thing we have. Probably an attack debuff.

Is there a possibility to set up a trap for the devourer at the funeral boats? @Azel It would literally just be the sea below and the sky above. If we work with the skychild and our herald we have numerical and home advantage.

We didn't get one last fight.

I really wouldn't call it suicide. It's far from certain to succede, but in he is not that likely to kill us in one try either and we can heal well.

I think a better plan now is,

get the upgardes and explore the area
get the healing domain and protect the dea so the snake cannot grow anymore
go fight the snake with more power as backup

If it's far from certain to succeed then we should spend a turn building our strength and stacking the odds, not wasting power on an attack that's not going to work.

Given the details about the use of power in battle... which come to think of it we could have probably inferred, I think I am more comfortable with the cautious plan

[X] Plan: home improvements

We are a spirit of water and hoped for healing, not one of charging in like a barbarian in a D&D game :V
