"I'm sorry Iris. These are mandatory so you can become affiliated to us." Renick tries to divert me in his own terms.
"No. That's not really it." I said with conviction.
That's a total bull. I read the documents and it didn't state anything about being obligated to do whatever is in it. It's not mandatory. Most of it needs my consent before they can even take effect.
I told him my demands again, but this time with some details that will force him to back down on essentially taking advantage of me.
Does he think I don't know anything?
... Well, I really don't know that much but when I am Iris, I surprisingly know a lot. So it seems like I can twist a lot of things by just talking it out for a long time.
"... Those are... but you still need to have a legal guardian. The Youth Guard won't just stay silent if they learned that a minor is working for us without any parental guidance." Renick stated.
"Actually no. Because you will take care of my accommodations. That's even stated on the document here." I said while pointing at the exact phrase on one of the documents on the table.
"... What's that got to do with the legal guardian?"
"Simple. The PRT will shelter me. They will act as some sort of a parental guide to me. Like a supervisor. It's not like the Youth Guard will know any of this." I explained.
"That is unlikely."
"No. It is likely. Youth Guard didn't cover Independent Heroes. They only hold some control over the Wards. I know, I read the fine print here." I said while looking at the Wards Recruitment Contract.
They aren't even hiding their way of leading me to become a Ward. I think they are trying to discourage me on my decision to become a loosely affiliated Independent Hero so I will be force to think that the Wards option is the better one.
Well, that won't happen at all. These subtle manipulations that their doing is too obvious for me.

"They won't even know I am a hero. Once again, I am trying to become a part of this organization and I wanted to be in a non combat position. Youth Guard can't deny any of that because I am not even in any danger!" I said before continuing. "In fact, because I am an Independent, they can't even know my Civilian Identity. They don't have the right to breach my privacy!" I stated.

"... This is tipping the line, Iris. Your essentially telling us to hide you from the Youth Guard. You can't expect the PRT to do all the work! There are procedures that must be followed and rules that must be obeyed!" He said with a strong stare.
"That doesn't mean we're doing anything illegal. Independents have a right not to tell their background to the others, even if they want to affiliate themselves to the PRT. What's illegal about that?"
"You can't expect us to give you anything!"
"Of course I won't!" I rebuked with a bit of irritation. "I will be working here. Also, I will help you in emergency situations so long as I am available!" I stated with a strong tone.
"But this still didn't answer about your accomodations."

After a long, arduous, and stressful debate, I manage to squeeze out all my available options just to get all the advantages that I can take.
So first, I can now work as a PRT consultant, though I will be supervised by one or more PRT agents due to the weird demands that I took.
As stated by my contract, I will be working as a consultant. Well, more like someone in charge of Parahumans.
I manage to get the position in which I will be giving advices to the Wards. It seems like I can't really expand it to other people like civilians, PRT agents, and even the Protectorate members. Though I think this is already stretching it enough. I don't want to burn the bridges just because I became too unreasonable.
Those at the PR Department seems to be the one who will be mentoring me. There is also one PRT Trooper that will be assigned to me to guard me.
It also seems like I was given a shift on Console Duty because I seem to like being in a non combat situation. Like at all.
Of course I will gratefully accept. It's not like I am a full time worker.
Then I was loaned a single apartment room on the Downtown. It seems like some apartments here were owned by the PRT. The purpose of these apartment seems to be sheltering Case53 Capes, or also known as those mutated or monstrous Capes.
I can't really get back to my own form, though it is unknown if this is permanent or not. So, they give me this apartment because I can be loosely put as a Case53, despite not having that stylized "C" in any part of my body or not having any mutations on my body, and also I still have my memories.
Well... I am a shapeshifting Cape that can't get back to my original appearance so I think it is right to loosely put me as a Case53 Cape.
But I will be given a new Case Designation if my problem persists.
Anyway, about the apartment, it was loaned to me by the PRT until I become an adult. After I became an adult, I need to pay for my own just so I can stay in that apartment.
Yeah... I really manage to pull it off and made them agree to support me until I am an adult. Well, it's only the part about accomodations.
As for my affiliation, I am now officially an affiliate of PRT. A lot better, because I am not really someone who directly works on PRT so even if I work for them, I am not obligated to obey all their rules and I can back out anytime.
It seems like they put me as a part time worker because I am not really working for the PRT, only an affiliate. This is done so it became possible for me to work on PRT despite being an Independent.
It really is a good thing that I didn't stand down after that long tiring talk.
Well, they seem so intent on trying to recruit me. Even on things that will discourage me, they seem to be trying to lead me so I will voluntarily work for them. Which means they are that desperate to recruit any Cape they encounter.
I can understand. Villains outnumbers the heroes in this city so they might be looking for more heroes to even the odds.
It might be because they really wanted me to join them that even with my demands, they still relented. Well, most of my demands are reasonable!
Anyway, if I want to add more terms to my contract, I can just ask for it to the Director or the Deputy Director.
I think that will be useful. I might think of something that the PRT will be interested. Ringo's knowledge seems to be something that they will be interested.
Now then, I am just putting my signature on the newly created documents with my own demands in it. I glanced at one part of the contract...
... and froze at what I saw...

It was the current date.
It might be unimportant to anyone but right now, that is an essential info for me.
I remember before my death that the date is still January 10, 2011. Now it is currently February 20!?
I've been dead for almost a month!?
"Iris... what's the matter?" I heard Battery on the side asking that with what I hear as concern.
.... Now I have a strong urge to ask for my Dad.

"I am fine. I might be getting tired..." I tried to make that excuse.
