If I understood them right, I think mc2 was talking about bringing him in on the Adam/Olvikan situation, which I would definitely be up for -- not so much bringing him in on the Successor situation.
Yeah I tentatively think the best case is telling all the witches and anyone else we think could help basically everything, except for Travers, Zoe, and Rachel. Those three we should tell about Adam and the Olvikan connection for sure though, because they have all been generally useful so far and might come up with a way to help with this new problem.

OOC: does it read to anyone else like Faith is beginning to grok that this is a bad situation to be in, and maybe could be reached/flipped? At the very least I get the sense that if it came down to it she'd be willing to turn on OlvikAdam
I think now is the time to see if Xander can get in touch with her. A week ago for Faith she was basically invincible in the Initiative base. From what we were shown in canon the Initiative soldiers are basically nothing in the face of a slayer, so if push came to shove and she didn't like how things were going she could leave, and basically everything was fun and games as she got to spit acid at Buffy without much risk of a hammering. Now she has to wonder what she will do if this new monster knocks on her door one night, she can't exactly run when she is underground after all.

I expect Faith to react badly to Buffy, and Buffy to react badly to Faith, so I think with Faith we ought to wait a bit longer for things to actually start going South before trying to flip her.

IMO if we want to have Zoe and Rachel at the meeting, and invite the Watchers, (I think we should at least not exclude Zoe and Rachel, so it doesn't look suspicious, and the Watchers might know something), but don't want to tell them about Buffy successor death goddess deal, it might makes sense to have the main meeting focus on the new threat: Adam, his relationship to Olvikan, and his own mini-corruption god deal. Maybe end on a "we dealt with this before with Dracula and Tapparich" thing, so nobody gets the idea that we're the wrong horse to back.

Then we can have a separate "briefing the magic users we employ" thing, and in that meeting actually tell them about Buffy's successor death goddess deal, since most of the people we might want to know who don't already know are magic users.

We can also discuss who should know what in a "core scooby" meeting, since that's who already knows.

On tone, I'm not particularly interested in apologetic Buffy. This was need-to-know.

Edit: Also, if we want to make a big meeting with the Watchers covering only Adam, I'd consider inviting the cops and basically everyone else too. Have a threat briefing they might need, and also the whole "The Initiative is working with a god whose power is corruption" thing might break whatever moral qualms anyone might have with being at odds with the federal government.

I see the Drusilla plans are getting ever more tempting
I know I'm convinced.

[X] Drusilla Variant Plan
-[X] Extra People: Drusilla, Vanessa, Darla, Faith, Jenny. All boys excluded.
-[X] Information: Everything. Emphasis on Buffy's sex life, everything else isn't as important for now.
-[X] Style: Gossip session. Everyone has to dish.

I am confused why Darla and Jenny weren't invited already.

Darla's re-dead, and while she comes back in Angel, I don't think Buffy knows about that yet. Then again, if we're going with the Drusilla plan, I'm sure a pesky thing like meta-knowledge won't stop that (also I like the addition of Faith there, I'm pretty sure having to hear about Buffy and Harmony like that would constitute as some form of torture).

[X] Plan Two Tiers
-[X] Extra People: Andrew, Jonathon, Warren, Tara, Matthew Waters, and Cynthia Danvers
-[X] Information: Everything about gods and the artifact and Adam. Emphasize safety and practical responses to Adam's interference and presence.
-[X] Style: Reading people into a set of secrets that they now need to know.
-[X] The next day contact Travers and tell him and the potentials and the watchers about Adam, his manifestation of Olvikan features, and his ability to interfere with magic.
--[X] If asked by Rachel or Zoe explain the first meeting away as marching orders for the coven and new safety protocols to avoid snake attacks.

I know that Warren can be iffy, but boy does he need to know there is a thing around that might be able to steal his robot or other devices. He is also desperate to be cool and seem in the know, and inducting him in deeper to our secrets should hopefully tie him to us pretty strongly by bolstering his sense of importance and thus keep him from going bonkers at some point. Also, he might have a real shot at finding the Artifact and also won't be able to keep it from us if he does.

Matthew Waters might end up being the first point of contact with Adam or Adamized initiative soldiers if things go very wrong, and so he probably should get a lot of information. On top of that he is pretty tied into the Sunnydale system. He can't really just leave here and go somewhere else without a lot of questions being asked about why he left a great new job he was only sort of qualified for. On top of that if too many questions get asked it might come out that he was playing super fast and loose with the law, and I just don't think he will take that risk.

Finally Cynthia Danvers may seem like a weird call, but she is as devoted as Harmony for some crazy demon (I assume) reason, and so I don't think she will spill any of this to anyone. She might also have insight into what Wilkins did with the Artifact or be able to narrow things down, and just didn't because she didn't know we were looking for something. Also if we want a surprise cult to show up worshipping us Cynthia seems like the way to go, and that just seems fun to me.

This seems pretty good. I agree on Warren, and I hadn't thought of Cynthia, but I really like the idea. I'm less sure on Matthew Waters, though. I agree he should be read in on Olvikan, but I don't really see the point of him knowing about Buffy. Also, I'd be surprised if the Watchers didn't know about the minor god sort of deal as a concept, so I don't really see the point in obscuring that that's what Adam is from the Watchers.

I mainly didn't want to chop this up into a third meeting, and I'm not actually that worried about him knowing about Buffy. He seems the least able to leverage that information in any harmful way. The main reason to have him there is that he has consistently asked Willow and Cyberwillow for help on things that they weren't doing before, and led them to providing very useful aid that they weren't considering doing before. He is good at practical every day uses of the stuff we do, and that sort of point of view might be good to have in the meeting.

I don't want to obscure what Adam is from them, I figured they would get that message off being told about the Olvikan stuff. I just don't want to tell them specifically about Buffy and the Artifact yet so I had to cut the lot of them out of the main meeting.

If nothing else, thank god someone figured out a plan -- I was getting worried that no one would get around to piecing one together and Anno would be left with "welp, there's one vote for Drusilla Variant Plan and nothing else, so here goes". not that my inner chaos gremlin isn't at least a little curious how that would turn out...

Adam
Because this was a regrettable case where no even slightly accurate image existed to put with the update, I wanted to better describe what Adam's appearance is hybridizing with Olvikan parts.

First, for reference:

We can see his face is cut into three pieces equal-ish, but his body is mostly a mish-mash of demon parts with some cyborg add-ons. The Successor version's demon parts all look like they came from the same thing (they lack the internal stiching), but there's a bit less of it; in particular his right arm is human underneath but has much more metal cybernetic enhancement.

The demon skin visible has a very specific look to it, namely:

There's green, and white-green on the underbelly, and some blacker spotting particularly on the sides of the head (but the sides of Adam's head are human and robot, so the black spots aren't as evident.) The texture is distinctly weird, even in-universe; Olvikan just kinda has the look of bad 90s CGI. It was part and parcel of assuming a more Old One centric form in a world that could only barely contain it. That same texturing on Adam's demon skin was very recognizable to those who had seen Olvikan in person, at graduation.

I do want to make an aside here, that while the graduation transformation was an Olvikan-form, don't be mistaken and think a mere sixty foot demon snake was his true extent during the Lachrymal era. This was a thematic approximation that could still fit in the modern cosmos, and certainly not the Old One reborn in anything remotely near full reality-warping power.

Moving on, we get to Adam's face, which is proportioned the same way between his three pieces, but the demon part again has Olvikan's distinct look to it. It's still in the same place; mouth, jaw, nose, one eye, a bit of a cheek. The best reference I found for it was this particularly clear image in the wrong colors:

First, you can see the nose is very flat, like a snake's; Adam has a case of Voldemort-nose. Second, Adam's teeth are weird. Even the ones inside his mouth are kind of mandible-esque, and though most of that isn't fully visible behind his lips you can easily see enough to tell it's wrong somehow, and if you know what to look for you can guess what's going on. All the teeth are conical and sharp. The scarring around his lips suggests some exterior mandibles were removed for whatever reason.

As a last point, I want to emphasize all these features are much smaller than they appeared on the Olvikan transformation; they don't seem to have been directly scavenged from the corpse, or if they were they were shrunk somehow to fit on a large humanoid frame. Also, his left arm has the Olvikan texture and claws, despite the snake not having had arms.

In other business, the vote seems like a landslide, let's wrap it in 12 hours.

Joyce is gonna be sleeping through this one.

I don't really see the point in telling Joyce, tbh. All of Joyce's advice and thoughts would be about how Buffy didn't tell her earlier and how to make it stop. It also wouldn't really work out with trying to keep it mostly Adam-focused.

The line from a long time ago about not raising buffy to believe in souls really stands out to me on this issue. She barely accepts magic and doesn't think souls are real, she would absolutely think any claims of divinity are some weird cult thing with Buffy trying to pull a fast one somehow.
