Travel between stars would be useless/dangerous without knowledge of local affairs and visa versa.
At the same time their version the state of the galaxy/ local affairs is likely to be propaganda.

My main motive for choosing this is that I kinda want us to make potato trees. This would help us make compact energy storage and make more successes.
