Lots of psionic stuff we know about (like our only current offense research), but not my real interest here

[ ] Materials Technology Cache
Could be interesting, but not sure how relevant this is for a bunch of trees.

[X] Energy Technology Cache
Weapons! The lack of actual offensive weapons (as opposed to "offensive" calming) makes me sad, but this could help us actually murder stuff! Also, something we're a lot less likely to stumble onto on our own (though this is probably true for FTL and materials too)

Cmon no one wants to know whats going on in the galaxy at large? weve seen hints at strained relations and potential flair ups of war. would be nice to know whats going on and who controls what and who may be near us.

Any knowledge that comes from them is going to be biased to at least some degree, and we have no objective sources for anything besides names, so that lessens the benefit a little.

atleast its something to tell us whats in this galaxy where in even biased and im hoping for some kinda map along with it. And the know threats part it nice so we know whats out there.

I'd like some news out there. At least they can tell us about some intergalactic warring empires at least.

- Important, let's us have a look into what's going on vaguely, names to be wary and look forward too... through the lense of our current visitors. Seems like it could be rather biased.

[ ] Knowledge of local affairs
-Helpful, gets us a lay of the land with who is who and what generally to do, less likely to be biased.

[ ] General research asssistance
- Nice all all arounder option for your Jack OG All trades people.

[ ] Travel between Stars
-Would be helpful later but we may wanna build ourselves up first before taking off into space, walk before you run before ya fly before you shoot through space.

[ ] Psionic Tutor
-How prevalent are Psionic people? Helpful for those types of trees but we've got a lot on our plate on researching collection trees already.

[ ] Materials Technology Cache
-This is something I'm interested in a lot, both as a concept of "getting more materials to make stuff with" and "Hello, I am stockpile tree, I have all the stockpiles with me. Resources for the resource god" and all that. Personally what I'm aiming for

[ ] Energy Technology Cache
-Laser Weapons, helpful for battle but if we're defending them here and now they'll likely have their own weapons with them, shielding should be fine. We can work towards this later.

TLDR: Stockpile Everything! More things to store!

It goes boom. I'll grant you that we probably will get things that we would probably not stumble across for a while. As for materials, how about integrating different materials to get better effects. Psionic amps, better shielding, better gathering of particles and solar rays, tougher trees, more mobile trees.
