Style of the Gods: A Xianxia Style's Celestial Bureaucrat

[X] Plan: Rat relies on others to live.
-[X] [Asuka] Continue to train in Grey Rat Cheats The Heavens and develop another Core. Cultivation Check against DC 100, failure = death.
-[X] [Domain] Encourage Master Reshi to begin teaching all his students Grey Rat Style.
-[x][Style] Grey Rat's Sheathed Claws
Develop the use of hidden weapons such as blowguns and capped spears. Build Path: Assassin
-[X][Personal] Continue negotiations with King Death and his court.

Simple plan and a bit late. Get Renshi to teach his students this to get more followers. Get our protagonist power leveling for...power. Style upgrade that works with assassinations and probably our resourcefulness 'cause I like that angle. Continue negotiations in the hope we can get some more mitigation for those aspects

[X] Plan Unnoticed, Grey Rat Rides The Dragon
-[x][Asuka] Focus on making more Charms from the dead criminal's bones. Atma check at DC50.
-[x][Domain] Encourage Master Reshi to begin pushing for treatment of the Grey Rat students as a sub-sect of Green Dragon.
-[x][Style] Grey Rat's Sheathed Claws
Develop the use of hidden weapons such as blowguns and capped spears. Build Path: Assassin
-[x][Personal] Continue attempting to contact the court of the Zodiac Rat

1415 - Year of the Rabbit
After many, many attempts to contact the Zodiac Rat's Celestial Court, you finally find a reliable messenger. The starry-eyed rat introduces himself as Aki, a name you immediately believe to be false - but his contacts are good. Over many months, you pass letters back and forth using him, keeping them short so they're small enough for a rat to carry. It's enough to negotiate a new source of spiritual power for your style, though!

Feral Technique Tree upgraded to Zodiac Technique Tree!

Charms. The basic tools of Cultivation, your weapons in the struggle to control and bind Atma.

Today, you've completed one of your oldest projects, which once shattered under your hand as you carved it. You have a bone flute to call your own, suitable to call and command all nine chords of Atma. In sounding, the interplay of the five Elements, the balance of Yin and Yang, and the power of Life; in silence, the still emptiness of Death.

It plays beautifully.

Your Master Reshi has been playing beautifully as well, in a game of negotiations over what to do with the new sect. Hampered as he is by your poor reputation as a cowardly style with ghoulish practices, there's not much headway he can make; but he does at least enshrine the Grey Rat sect as a separate sub-sect of Green Dragon, selling it as a way to prevent blowback onto any of the other masters if something should go horribly wrong.

Nothing is going to go horribly wrong, is it?

[X] Plan: Grey Rat Seeks Employment
-[X] [Asuka] Continue to train in Grey Rat Cheats The Heavens and develop another Core. Cultivation Check against DC 100, failure = death.
-[X] [Domain] Have Master Reshi push for the Grey Rat sub-sect to begin taking missions from the outside world.
-[X] [Style] Grey Rat's Bag of Tricks
-[X] [Personal] Continue cultivating and attempt to form a third Core. Cultivation DC60.

Right now, our hero has a +90 to Cultivation checks, she's got a 10% chance of failure, now is a good time to create another core, for girl and god alike.

I'd like to finally get around to popularizing the production of Bone Charms among the students. We haven't actually done that yet, and it's a vital trick for advancing in the style.

As nice as finally getting to see outside the cultivation halls might be, lack of charms is going to restrict students of the Grey Rat to mook-dom.

That's true, yes, but I feel like it's probably a good idea to make ourselves useful to Green Dragon ASAP so they don't treat us poorly in future, which is something I'm a bit worried about.

If we want to have Asuka cultivate more I figure we should have her create a twin to Whitefang to drop the chance of death to 0%. I know it is only 10% but if the dice decide to screw us then we are in deep, deep, trouble without our hero unit. We only have a 30% of injury making the blade when the bonuses are factored in.

I imagine taking missions is also one way to get rid of Disreputable if you can show you can be valuable, although it may depend on the sort of missions you take.

[X] Plan: A Dozen Grey Rats is no Swarm.
-[X][Asuka] Try to kick-start the washouts among your students using Whitefang.
-[X][Domain] Encourage rumors about the new style to spread outside the Sect and attract new students.
-[X][Style] Grey Rat Claws In A Frenzy

Every update that comes I fell people focus to much on building up the practioners we have and completely miss the fact that the total practioners in the entire world for our style is exactly a dozen right now.

I just don't see how we can make a Legendary style know all over the world if never take any action to make it know to more than a dozen people.
Seriously even if we started taking mission, or having the students do anything at all, the greatest limitation would be that we only have twelve people doing it.
So I think we realy should grow our sect before doing anything else, because is realy small right now.

[X] Plan: Master must be reputable
-[X][Asuka] Focus on being a good Master to the students who follow you.
-[X][Domain] Encourage Master Reshi to begin teaching all his students Grey Rat Style.
-[X][Style] Grey Rat Claws In A Frenzy

We definitely do need more, particularly after the review.

... The typo in the plan name is going to irk me, I can tell.

Anyway. I don't think there's enough patience for more grinding to go for the bone charms; if we'd like to get into shadowy underworld actions before telling people far and wide where we're lairing, it obviously needs to be done now.

As it is, I suspect we've already raised Disreputable too high for a spreading reputation to have good results, but we're enough Survivalists that I'm not too worried about the results regardless.
