[X] "Blowing these bots up won't stop Stark from making more, Justine. In fact, he might double down if you do. I have a more permanent solution in the works, which is why I was in here in the first place. I know some people who know some people and those people were able to make a virus that'll turn these bots into a radioactive hot potato of bad PR, and hit Stark right where it hurts. In his pride and in his wallet. The police don't like it when they're held to their own rules, let alone to the same standard as anyone else would be."
-[X] "No one can ever know we were here. The police need to believe that Stark genuinely screwed up and is unwilling or unable to fix it. The idea being, that once the robots continue to arrest cops for breaking the law, the police will shutter the program and Stark will be publicly embarrassed."

I am shamelessly stealing that subpoint from y'all with the "your tech person" vote.

I mean, Stark may actually be able to feed his ego off this: "My robots worked too well and the NYPD couldn't handle it, the scrubs."

But ultimately it doesn't matter, as long as copbots don't become weapons of evil.

Oh hey, called it on the Crimson Cowl, nice. Before people get too enthused over her though, the Cowl also has a trend of being party to weird identity games and/or fakeouts, so what we see might not be what we get. For maximum Mirrorverse shenanigans, I'm going to postulate that Justine is being secretly backed (so secretly that she herself is unaware), by someone else- ULTRON itself, circumventing restrictions placed on it by Stark.

Prefer this which puts a bit more distance between Liv and the supposed 'tech genius'

Ultron just unlocking everything for her while facepalming about her lack of infiltration skills is definitely a fun mental image.
"Oh god she actually tried to use 00001 as a password"
cancels a half dozen alarms, loops security footage, and opens the door

I kind of like this, although if a variant shows up that includes us explaining why we can't be spotted I think I'll go for that instead.

Long Drive Home
"Uuh... I'm not bombing them." you said, a bit awkwardly.

"What?" she said, stifling a laugh of disbelief. "Got another plan? Forced crash?"

"No just... Blowing these bots up won't stop Stark from making more, Justine. In fact, he might double down if you do. I have a more permanent solution in the works, which is why I was in here in the first place."

"What do you mean?"

"I know some people who know some people and those people were able to make a virus that'll turn these bots into a radioactive hot potato of bad PR, and hit Stark right where it hurts. In his pride and in his wallet. The police don't like it when they're held to their own rules, let alone to the same standard as anyone else would be." you explained. She looked askew at that, the gears clearly turning, but then nodded as she realized what you were saying.

"Cool, yeah, so how can I help?" she asked.

"Put your bomb away and watch my back, I'm going to finish installing it on all the bots." you explained. Clearly a little disappointed, she slipped the explosive back in her cloak, and you moved to the next machine. You were getting fast at this now, no more than two minutes per. As the files loaded into the last robot and you did a final check for cameras, sensors, or any other incriminating evidence, you gave Justine a thumbs up.

"All done?"

"Yeah. How are you getting home?" you asked.

"I have my car following us, way back up the road. I was just going to jump off the back of the truck and jump in." she explained. That was better than your idea of riding the truck until it passed near civilization, so...

"Could I maybe get a ride? I didn't think through that part of my plan very well." you asked.

"Of course! Yeah, absolutely. Are you hungry? I'm starving, I was waiting for that truck for ages. We should stop and get something..." she rambled, popping back open the back door. A second later, her cowl articulated out behind her and spread into a parachute and she was pulled out the back of the truck, drifting on the cold air. Alright, that was cool.

"I'm still jealous of all these flying people." you said, thinking of Clint Barton's wingsuit.

"We'll build one when you get home. Jump before you're too far separated."

You jumped.

There was something kind of surreal about riding in a car in your costume with somebody who wasn't wearing one. Once you were clear, Justine pulled her hood off and stuffed it all in the back of the car, and you very deliberately kept your eyes straight forward as she changed into civilian clothes behind you. You felt so weird, like it was a mismatch between your superhero life and your regular one.

"Hey Google, how far are we to Albany?" Justine called from the back of the car.

"Twenty minutes, Justine. Would you like to set a new destination there? Pizza?" the car responded smoothly.

"Oh look at me, I'm Google Assistant, I've learned to anticipate the needs of my client across multiple platforms. Bitch." Athena muttered in your ear.

"Hey, uh... Arachne? You wanna get pizza?"

"I can't exactly walk into a place looking like this." you said. "Well, like, I could, but, you know..."

"I... yeah, no that'd be dumb." Justine said, climbing back into the front seat.

Liv has civilian clothes packed in her costume.

Does it concern anyone else that justine has a bunch of consumer tech in her car?

Friends are a very important thing however.

Super team go!

-But also do one last paranoia check on her and all the tech in her car first.

In terms of secret keepers? Justine isn't a great choice. Considering who we're close to and how bad folk would go after them if Justine were nabbed? Yeah. I don't think so.

Liv would have to lift her mask either way.
Smoothie?

Yeah, Justine is a walking Op-sec disaster.

Consider the fact that Google Assistant here has just predicted what Justine wants to eat. That means that not only is Justine utilizing a tracked vehicle, she didn't even bother to log out while doing a secret mission.

Well, Arachne can probably mind-whammy it into reporting whatever she wants it to report, but it's a valid concern.

With that said...

[X] Keep your mask on, it's not worth the risk.

Friends are good, but I don't think Justine Hammer represents the right balance of friendship and risk exposure.

Justine is nice and everything but she's not subtle. I'm not keen on revealing Liv identity on a first meeting with someone bad with secrets.

Yeah this is definitely a major issue in any future team ups. Which just means I'd want to let her know so she doesn't get caught in the future with a write in. At the moment she's an over enthusiastic hero liable to get caught, and I want to change that.

On one hand, Justine does seem impulsive, terrible at op-sec, and Arachne has only known her for all of five or so minutes.

On the other hand, the Secret Government Agency already knows Arachne's identity, so it's not like telling Justine makes it that worse, and she will probably hold on to that secret given how high in regard she holds Arachne.

I'm leaning towards keeping the mask on. It doesn't matter how much Justine wants to keep a secret if she's really bad at it. Which is harsh, but Justine left Google Assistant running on a op. I'd want to see more about how she's dealing with the constant survellience state before telling her.
Of course, if she were really bad at this she would have been arrested already.

I wonder if she gets targeted ads about overthrowing Stark Industries now.

I'd say that we need more superhero friends in our age group, but honestly we just need more friends in general. Just a girlfriend and... would sister fit Athena best? Well, either way extending the social group sounds like a good idea.

You're cool and all, but let's keep it as professional as you ever get, Ms. Hammer.
