The Mistress' Favor (Maid RPG ; Original SciFi Setting)

>[x](write-in) Varied world with multiple biomes (arctic, tropical, volcanic, one spot that acts like a literal hurricane or monsoon magnet somehow and sucks up all the hurricanes in the southern hemisphere, etc). However, this settlement is in one of the many tropical island chains that enjoy supernaturally good weather.
>[x]A lowpop region

Favorite games are Subnautica and Stardew Valley. For the biomes, I really like tropical but it would be nice if the planet had a variety of biomes in case we want to travel to cold or mysterious locals.

The "hurricane magnet" area sounds like an interesting mystery and a way to explain why this place could be so desirable (no monsoon season, they all get attracted to this one spot away from us).

Then, we live in a lower population area, away from the bustle of the city. Maybe have some quaint farms or fisheries in the area. If anyone needs something from out of town, there's no doubt satellites, shuttles, etc for communication or transportation.

Second choice would be a point of interest.

[As a clarification: "Minor details will be compiled or rolled for by myself after this." refers to things like areas of interest, anomalies (weather magnets), and generally any miscellany not stated in any part of the voting.
I will be keeping in mind the biome aspect, though generally Continental would be what this gets called. That and I am of the camp that's not for true mono-biome worlds (they have their place in some narratives or lores, but this is not one of those)
Past that, just with like the cyberspace while the ideas are going to be noted down there will probably be opportunities for story beats, plot arcs/scenarios, side-stories, etc. What gets picked will generally decide the primary scope and focus for the quest setup. The current lead for instance almost guarantees me writing a 'beach episode' due to how well it coheres to the chosen setting.]

03 Who Are You?
[X]Tropical World ; 10
[X]Point of Interest ; 8

Past what you already know you easily find through some quick searches that the world, named 'Ambrojia 2', is commonly referred to as a 'tropics world' due to the majority of the planet experiencing warmer temperatures and a single seasonal state in addition to landmasses trending towards smaller ones. Satellite maps tell you that her estate is located on the outskirts of a colonial settlement established by a long extinct species. You're just familiar enough with the history of prior galactic eras to know they were done in by an artificially engineered super virus they'd created to ensure only the fittest survived and leave their species entirely resistant if not immune to disease.
That worked out just fine for them, didn't it?

Nagging concerns lead to a gal-wide-web search about the virus and if this is an occupational hazard, but find the virus required a living host and that the highest danger of being near that city is hiking through it the same way a nature hike would be, or the local fauna.

Your fears assauged you get work on the application form...
Using the manual will probably help but it is not necessary. You can purchase it here, and if you can't don't worry there's other avenues out there. Please support the official release when you are able to.

Please assign attribute values using either of these three setups.
Code:
4 3 3 2 2 1
4 4 3 2 1 1
3 3 3 2 2 2
Alright let's start this off.
  • Treat most everything as free answer, only * need to be based on the manual
  • Clothes should be out of uniform or formal
  • Picking any species outside human will be a free usage of the 'alien' trait, put a spoiler at the enddetailing them in as much detail as you want
  • Let me know if you're fine with them being used later in the quest or for ones in the same setting
  • Please don't submit characters that are copied from a comic or such, or direct references. Having Bec Noir as a maid in space might be more crack than this is intended to be.
  • Characters beneath the age of 21
  • 'Actually a guy', addictions, or being a slave in some form.
  • The 'Accents, Tragic, and Trauma' sections
  • Don't make characters related.

And it's character creation time. Sorry for the size of the application and the rules, but hopefully it's not a pain.
This will be open until wednesday or friday, depending on how many characters I receive.
Three, or maybe four maids will be picked, based on how they'd play off each other.

After the next update things will be a slightly 'anything goes' setup for a bit. I'm thinking of running this with a council for each maid, via a discord server, but I'm still not sure if that's too complex, or if it'd actually be good for the quest.

Also: Good News Everyone, a 'beach episode' has been guaranteed!

Oh, so we're actually playing Maid RPG? Awesome, I've been wanting to do that for a long, long time. Well, here goes.
Also, please feel free to use this character however you like if you decide not to accept her as a PC in this quest.
Name: Sarah Feynman
Age: 23
Gender / Pronouns: She/her/hers
Species: Human
*Attributes (p13): Athletics 1, Affection 4(+1), Skill 4, Cunning 1(-1), Luck 2(-1), Will 3(+1)
*Maid Types (p13): Pure and Heroine
Special Qualities (p14): Glasses and Black Leather Gloves (fingerless)
*Roots (p20): Childhood Friend
Stress Explosion (p20): Shopping
Weapons (p21): Machine Gun
*Power (22): Cooked With Love
Clothes: Formal
Eye: Brown
Hair: Pink
Appearance: A tall woman of average build with a perpetually hunched-over posture and slightly confused expression.
Personality: Friendly and hardworking, Sarah believes the best of everyone, even if they tell her that a freshly-mopped floor
is totally safe and she proceeds to trip face first into a toaster oven, which has happened more than once. But that still won't
deter her from doing her chores on time and under budget! Which is good, because she needs the extra money for her retail
therapy habit. All that bad luck wears on a gal, you know. Still, Sarah won't let some unfortunate spending habits stop her. Her
old pal is depending on her!
Other Notes: Likes to buy stuffed animals when shopping to deal with stress but will go for whatever's available./spoiler]

[sarah bandwagon] --- err I mean
[X] Sarah Feynman

Never played Maid RPG tbh. Interested in how this goes!

[X] Sarah Feynman

Neat! I hope she buys glorious expensive flowers for herself, too. Maybe cute bathing suits. I mean, this is the tropics.

Pink hair is the best.

Name: Sylvia Duskwind
Age: 223
Gender / Pronouns: She/her/hers
Species: Space Wood Elf
*Attributes (p13): Athletics 1, Affection 4(+1), Skill 4, Cunning 1(-1), Luck 2(-1), Will 3(+1)
*Maid Types (p13): Pure and Heroine
Special Qualities (p14): Glasses and Black Leather Gloves (fingerless)
*Roots (p20): Childhood Friend
Stress Explosion (p20): Outdoors activities
Weapons (p21): Mechanized Longbow
*Power (22): Cooked With Love
Clothes: Formal Hunting
Eye: Brown
Hair: Dark Brown

Appearance: An average sized Elf slightly taller than most humans. Fidgeting of her hands is a common sight in this one as she constantly 'washes' her hands.
Personality: Sylvia loves hunting but was never able to make a career out of it and decided to go to Maid School in order to make more money. She has a love of the outdoors and showing 'city folk' the beauty of nature believing that all being are intertwined no matter of there origin or planet. Sylvia

Other Notes: Likes to tell stories of her time in the wilds with her friends. Her personal favorites are the ones where she learned something important about herself. She tells these stories slowly and with great emphasis at certain points to convery feelings and emotions.

I attempted to make my own. I like Elves a lot as a fantasy race so I made this.

[What maids are picked isn't a vote as a note, and colors used are your own choice as a maker rather than diceroll here.

+Yeah the quest is definitely going to take cues from the game itself while being more freeform. 'tis an experiment

Loving the characters so far]

I'm afraid i'm a little unsure. Are we not going to pick between one of these two?

[nah, I should have been more clear when I wrote "Three, or maybe four maids will be picked, based on how they'd play off each other.". It's a matter of QM choice.
The issue from having a vote given that it's reader submitted you can see everyone who did vote voted for the first (and at the time only) character submitted. While votes are standard for quests it's not an intuitive way to do this.

EDIT: I will however probably only pick one of the two so far. They both have five of the same character fields. The stat array & allocation, maid type, root, and powers specifically.]

Ok btw. please feel free to check back later. I basically copied the first maid but re-did her as much as possible. Stats to me seem weird because i'm used to D&D 5e.

[I can understand, but please do a quick skim of a system in the future rather than copying another person's character.]
