Shield Hero, but hopefully Heroic

[X] Healing Touch. To be able to heal others, but not yourself.

If I remember correctly, the shield specs in healing and support, and this will help us.

The 7 virtues are apparently Chastity, Temperance, Diligence, Patience, Kindness, Humility, and Charity. There doesn't seem to be any agreement about what colors are associated with the 7 virtues. I don't think any of them really match what we've seen of GOLD so far. I'm guessing that it's concern for others with the potential to turn into self-sacrifice.

Most of the colors are supposed to have good and bad things about them so it's ok to choose colored options, but we just need to be careful about not falling too far into any particular color. Yukihime doesn't need any more RED. BLACK might be one of the colors that we should try to avoid entirely because I think it's DESPAIR.

...Alas.
Well, I say that but it's not like I'm that sad at going this route.

[X] More Spiritual Energy Techniques. "Now that you can sense your own energy I suppose I can teach you something... Yes I suppose this will be alright." You must choose one of the following for this option.
-[X] Iron Body Technique. The best offense is a good defense.

Healing others is nice.

[X] Martial Arts. "No, Yukihime I'm not going to teach you martial arts via 'kicking your ass', I'm going to teach you some moves that will go well with your own style, and correct some weaknesses I've spotted."

Honestly, I want to take things slow and solidify our foundations.

This or the healing touch. Third eye seems a little redundant given how Yukihime is specced.

Mean, if she could establish a reputation as a certified lie detector, it makes it vastly harder for people to try bullshitting others whenever she's around. That, and makes it much easier for her own manipulation of others.

Yukihime's Health
Allow me to gather all the long term health maluses and bonuses into one place so you don't have to go through the entire quest looking for all the information and it won't come as a surprise when you keel over due to a bad health decision or something.

So if you read the quest, you'll know that you're on a time limit. It's entirely possible to fuck your body so bad that you'll just drop before the end of the quest.

Life Span: Five Years. Ten Years in Good Conditions.

Ziggurat. To achieve Immortality. A series of regenerative drugs that are probably the only thing keeping you alive. You feel it in your blood and it burns. It consumes and adapts, you have no idea where you end and the Ziggurat begins.

0034-X. The slow Ablation. Designed to destroy.

Nicotine Addiction: Recovering.

Malnourished: Recovering.

She would need to be skilled at actually manipulating others though. I don't think that's been very well established. In any case I think healing is objectively a better skill to gain right now even if it won't work on Yukihime herself.

The more we learn about healing, the better we will get at un####ing our body. Even if we cannot heal ourselves from the beginning, with the right shield, we might be able to improve our health.

Can't go wrong with punching, plus hunting down monster would become easier. Gimmicks are great but there really isn't any real substitute for fighting better.

Energy techniques are nice, but I'd rather focus on the basics first.

Reading the story, don't know much about the source material but this seems promising.

Had to stop at one point, that update where we bought assets and started making income. The math upsets me, but nobody else commented (that I saw in the page afterwards) and the assets threadmark lists the same, so...

200 silver traded in becomes 50 copper a week income

2 weeks to earn back 1 Silver, that's 400 weeks or 8 years before we actually earn anything at all. After that, it'll be all earnings, but...

Are we even going to see 2 years in this quest? Is this the kind of place where we skip over months of grinding, and only get into the thicker parts of the plot 5 years from now? Because I seriously doubt it, but again, unfamiliar with source material.

Seems like a really bad investment atm...

Then there's the Inn. Don't know how much that discount is worth, could be pretty nice. But ~40 a week for 6 months comes out to like, less than 9 silvers. We spent 100. That discount has to save us over 90 silver before the investment becomes useful, and we won't be using that discount while traveling or off adventuring, and it's just a discount not actually free meals or whatever, so...

Yeah. Not liking these investments. Is my math wrong? Are these objections handled somehow? Did we just get totally screwed over IC by a lack of business sense and basic math? Or are we gonna timeskip 10 years and actually earn a very small profit from this?

Edit: I read that as 100 coppers for 1 Silver, it suddenly occurred that I might have misread and it's 10 coppers per instead. That'd make sense. Brb double-checking and possibly deleting this post
Edit 2: nope 100 coppers per. Yikes.

We need ability to do damage at all

Thats the current payout, before the investment takes effect. Expect our cut to improve as business does

That makes sense, but... For something like 200 silver buying only 2% ownership, that doesn't sound like enough for those businesses to expand to any significant degree. Like, an instant 4x expansion on the glass place would see us earning back our investment in 2 years, which still isn't great but I'm still unsure about the quests timescale so maybe.

But an instant 4x expansion seems unlikely. A gradual 25% increase seems much more realistic, though still high for what a 2% buy-in should accomplish... And that's still only 75 coppers a week.

Idk man.

All your investments so far are construction projects. This means barely any work is actually getting done before they finish up. I'm aware how shitty the deal is, and how confusing this is I'll be changing the investments to be less convoluted then what I was attempting the first time if we revisit them at all and don't skip to just opening a company directly.

Soon enough the construction projects will finish and your investments will make you a lot more money, but until then you get basically a portion of what's basically the odd number of people still willing to shop somewhere under construction.

It's also true that these aren't the best deals you could've made, but you're a post apocalypse child soldier with a hermit so it's good for what you got going for you.

My one objection to training Martial Arts now is that Yukihime is supposed to be taking it easy to let the Alchemical Regeneration Ritual heal her fully, and Martial Arts will probably involve a lot of movement. The Awareness training was bad enough.
