Much as I love a Squirtle starter, I just cant bring myself to choose more than one "Starter" even if we chose an Evee.

It would be like taking all three available starter Pokemon. Its nice in theory, but lots of possible Squad members get snubbed due to already having a possible end game group.

I'm also trying to be nice to the folks who voted for him - It was very, very near a tie.

Anyway, I'm not hoping to just grab him without further discussion, I'm just hoping to lure the QM into having a vote on it, if David would even agree.

I'd still prefer something like the Pallet set only, but seeing that that fell through, I'm voting for this as I'd very much prefer having a chance for all of our Pokémon to survive the quest.

We specifically chose this starting restriction for it's flexibility, so if we're going to play it let's leave our party slots open to take advantage of that.
 
Will give more details once i get home but most pertinently:

In case of a team wipe I'll give you one chance to start over.

Most of the Starters will agree to being your second Pact.

Squirtle is a Monster/Amphibian-race.

Beast is actually Field Egg-group, sorry.

Can you list the bonuses provided by the pact limitations we're voting on here? I found the pact count bonuses below, but I couldn't find anything for the beast-types.

Uuuuuuurgh, I really want Squirtle.

I thought that Beast was wider. Really conflicted about things now. Yes, we need to narrow down, but the Field egg group seems far too much so.

Beast-race Restriction increases HP and Move Speed.
 
Urgh, sticking to beasts only seem terrible. No Flying types available, boost seems weak compared to just how small the selection is (I'd rate it below Pallet set any day of the week), and it seems like half of the options are basically redundant.

I'm tempted to go with just two Pokémon, and then go with Pikachu and Eevee. Abuse the EX skill boosts and go heavy on Electricity to give Pikachu false tankability due to Eevee being able to use AoE Electricity attacks.
 
Don't try too hard to make a "balanced team" -- that's what mercenaries are for.

Your Pacteds are supposed to be your generals. It's okay to have blind spots.

It's okay to have less Pacts.
Pros: More powerful generals.
Cons: Smaller group income.

She's undecided yet, since it's still so far off, but she's thinking probably Umbreon. Espeon or Jolteon aren't bad picks, though.

Somehow, she also seemed confident she could evolve without a Trainer. I wonder...

Interesting. Can pokemon evolve using evolution stones?

If so, is there any conflict between that, and the fact that the economy seems to be based on them?

Rather, all Pokémon need Stone to evolve.

Not really a conflict, just an expense.

Think of Stone as your fossil fuels, but at the same time more renewable and dangerous to mine.
