The world of tomorrow has arrived, and the age of mundanity has passed away. It is once again the age of heroes; an age where mighty demigods stride across the world to shape it according to their vision. Unnatural powers, amazing mutations, and wondrous creations abound, something that should rock the whole world.
And yet the world refuses to change.
The reactionary forces that the common, sheep like populace calls superheroes somehow does the impossible. It holds back the tide. Even though outnumbered, often with a single so-called hero facing down up to a dozen visionary men and women, they still force the boot of tyranny on the throat of progress.
It would be admirable if it was not so repulsive.
However, that was before. Now...now things would be different! For unlike any other time in history, you are now on the scene! Unparalleled, you shall break the dam of repression and the flood of freedom shall wash out over humanity! Though this is just how you figure the history books will describe it. Sure, your most common attempts at necromancy merely result in mindless zombies to perform manual labor, but with the right resources you could surely improve your skills and raise intelligent revenants or return the once dead to life once more! Surely, there are plenty of people who would accept you as their leader if immorality was on the table! (Necromancy)
Basic idea is we can create or summon undead, starting with boring zombies who aren't good in combat but can perform manual labor and basic goon stuff. Later missions (and maybe collecting old books, artifact's, crystals, cultist followers, etc) could allow for bringing back other villains who died to work for us or even properly ressurect people's loved ones if we get the equivalent of a philosoper's stone or other McGuffin.
Or if we get enough magical doodads in place, we can tap into Blood Moon style mass ressurection for our minions:
