Deus Pater (Exalted/40k)

[X] Malleus. A Space Hulk has exited the warp in half a dozen systems in a broadly predictable path, and wherever it appears the local worlds and indeed the spaces between them are rapidly beset by tides of daemonic predators. The Angels of Death are moving to cut out the threat at the source, and have called for any available forces nearby to buy them the time they need to find victory. The Admiral knows not how many will be free to answer the call.

Less pithily, I think heretics make the most interesting choice, because they speak to an interesting problem Ignatius must solve. What limits should be set on how people can worship? Boundaries have to be set somewhere, but there's a wide range of choices between the status quo and total anarchy. Obviously, Chaos worship and Genestealer cults are going to be verboten. But past that, things get murkier. What should the Ecclesiarchy deem acceptable, or good, or bad, or heresy? And what should the penalties for heresy be, and how much forgiveness should be extended?

As a Cardinal, Ignatius is obviously concerned about the physical well-being of the individuals under his aegis. That said, his primary concern is always going to be their spiritual well-being, just by virtue of who he is. Facing that early will help Ignatius shape his path going forwards, I think.

I'd honestly rather be killing Dark Eldar than pretty much any other entity in the galaxy, but what's the point in playing a living warrior-saint if you don't fight back the beasts of the Warp?

[X] Hereticus. The Agri-World of Palin's Reach has risen in rebellion against the Imperium, and without its harvests a dozen industrialised worlds will rapidly experience food shortages. The Admiral knows little of the purported causes for such rebellion, but he is certain that his fleet is not the only one that the Imperium will commit to see the world returned to the fold.

[X] Xenos. The Aeldari are raiding the worlds of the Josophine Cluster, taking captives and sowing misery wherever they go. They have begun to exhibit a noted fondness for striking at sites of faith and worship in particular, leaving butchered bodies and desecrated shrines in their wake. The Admiral expects a strong response to this affront, but also predicts that the aliens would need to be blind to think there would be any other result, and is grimly certain there is more to this than meets the eye.

Play our cards right and we could provide ample proof that we are no rick by the Dark Gods. Especially since we could possibly rope in some Astartes into our camp.

Using super diplomacy to introduce warp daemons to the righteous fury of the Unconquered Sun of Mankind via the interpretive medium of fist sounds awesome. Directly fighting Chaos with the forces of humanity is in line with motivations and will win political points. We will meet space marines which will both be awesome and possibly win political points.

Also I have an Eldar army and don't want my boys getting slaughtered.

Connection to His Divine Angels can only be a good thing. Further, there are few things a direct connection to the Emperor of Man can is more effective against than the Daemon.
