I mean, they're not Spider and they get a lot of travel which seems great for plot hooks, I do like the Tsuruchi and the fact that they're the only Great Clan not desended from a Kami appeals to the Thunder in me.

The Mantis is still a Minor Clan in this timeline, and the Spider do not exist - though that was probably obvious.

This appears to be a Maugan L5R quest.

Because Crane are all the culture that is much of the fun of exploring a setting like this, but the Daidoji are still connected to reality, rather than being Diplomat masters that only work on other samurai, or artists.

For a mobile quest, one with more horsepower. Really, while the Battle Maidens are nice and the Moto play on the Gaijin thing hard, Shinjo seems like a sensible middle. Not totally in or out of the culture of Rokugan, they are premier examples of the Unicorn's dual nature.
