"This is HUNK, en route to Saya Takagi's position."
You radioed in, before moving through the open streets. Moving through the open streets would be hazardous, but nothing you've seen before. Should be easier than your last operation, considering the only BOWs are the Undead walking about.

Moving through the streets, you encountered one of the infected. They were in horrid condition, with their jaw being held on by only a few sparse muscle fibers. Whenever they moved, it was with erratic jerking movements, almost seizure like if you had to describe them. As the zombie began moving towards you, it was a simple matter of disposing the walking dead. Grabbing the undead by the collar, you threw it over you with little effort.

(-1 AP)

The zombie's cranium hit the ground with a sickening crack, and you gave it a stomp for good measure. Leaving the corpse to its fate, you kept moving towards the VIP's location. Judging from your map, it'd be only half an hour until you reach her position. Just as you were about to continue, you got something on the Comms.

"HUNK, this is Tunnel Rat, I'll be your eyes and ears on the ground." Thanking the operator, you figured he might have something useful for you or your mission. "If you need any information, be it local or otherwise, I'm your guy." Marking that down, you notified him you'll talk later.

Dodging a few more undead, you were halfway to your VIP's location. A small group of undead blocked your path, too thick to dodge through and it'd be suicide to engage them in close combat. Raising your MP5A3, you dropped the first three zombies before charging through, using your Combat Knife to deal with any zombies that got a bit too close for your liking.

(-16 AP)

You mentally counted the Undead killed by your knife, noting that four were killed. Continuing your run towards the target, you found the bus driving through the streets at a leisure pace.

Moving to wave it down, you began waving with your free hand.

...

The inside of the bus was tense, quiet ever since they escaped the school. Marikawa Shizuka was at the wheel, a nurse from their highschool and one of the two school faculty to escape the school. Just as she was about to add some extra force to the gas pedal, Shizuka noticed a black clad soldier waving the bus down.

...

The bus slowed to a stop, allowing you on board. Greeting you was a blonde woman, most likely mid 20's to early 30's, and very...loaded down, if you had to say it.

"Is Saya Takagi on this bus?" You asked, making sure to repeat the question in Japanese. Years of working with foreign branches of Umbrella have prepared you for this, and it was surprisingly simple to get an answer.

"Yes, though who are you?" Simply saying your name was HUNK, you got onto the bus quickly, noticing the mass of scared teenage faces and a familiar face among them. Koichi Shido, son of a corrupt politician that had actively hampered Umbrella's efforts in Japan, mostly by attempting to discredit them as nothing more than mad scientists.

After a few moments of scanning the bus, you found Saya Takagi. She jumped a bit at realizing you had come for her, and it was simple in relaying who you were and what your mission was.

"My name isn't important, considering the nature of my mission is to escort Saya Takagi to the Takagi Estate." Scanning the bus once more, you noticed Shido was shooting you a silent glare. "Should anyone jeopardize my mission, they will be...Terminated, regardless of who they are." The teenagers on the bus each gave a silent nod, fear keeping them in line. "Do I make myself clear?" Another round of nodding followed, and now it was time to figure out another route.

Would be nice if we could just shoot the bastard, we even got a decent enough justification. Too many witnesses, sadly

As long as we keep alert and not mess up we should be fine.

Is this before or after Komuro and Rei got separated from the group?
I'm frankly astounded that Hirano isn't fawning over our guns. Well we are an obviously dangerous paramilitary soldier, and he isn't suicidal.
Also, how dare you Lone Courier for making Shido and his father even the slightest bit of redemption by opposing Umbrella!

As for the vote, going the main road will likely end up with us ditching the bus, along with Shido and his groupies, but the back-roads means that we might get to keep the bus and pick up some supplys at Mrs Shizuka's.

Edit: It might be worth it to just get rid of the dead weight, especially since it would be in such a way that doesn't damage our Principle's* psyche.
(Principle as in what we are protecting.)

Don't know the setting much so I'm going in blind by voting for what I feel would do well like taking the back roads.

I'm voting for this option as I remembered in that first episode of HOTD that going to Shizuka's and Rika's house means that we will acquire Rika's very large but illegal collection of firearms, which our PC and the main cast of HOTD could definitely use to further arm themselves as well as acquiring Rika's Humvee, which happens to be EMP-proof, especially when the EMP strike occurs. Also, going to Shizuka's and Rika's house means that we will also hopefully get to rescue that girl and her puppy (I forgot their names) - both of whom become part of the main cast of HOTD.

Rei and Takashi are still with the group, and Hirano will fawn over our guns once we sit down. As for Shido and his Father, it's more to protect his own stake in the pharmaceutical industry. Not out of any good, mostly just for monetary gain.

Implying we wouldn't shot Shido and throw his body out if he tried to stir up shit.

Yea, but if we just shoot him at the slightest provocation it might freak out the main cast, and I'd rather have that group of murderblenders on our side, thank you very much! Plus we don't want Saya's father complaning to our bosses for mentally scaring Saya. I doubt he would do that considering the circumstances, but better safe than sorry.

Edit: just had a thought. The biggest issue with taking this rout right now is that it is too early to pick up Alice. In adition, we are an unfeeling Umbrella operative, we wouldn't go out of our way to save a little kid, and if anyone decides to risk the group to do so will likely get shot for their trouble. That said, I really want to get her in the group. While during the anime she is mostly moral support when not being a damsel in distress for our protagonists (she's a kid, what ya gonna do) In the manga she ends up being an amazing scout if we can get her a bike. Plus having a small child will help give us some legitimacy as a group. What bandit group would bring small children along!?
...Wow, that is pretty long...

If we do get the chance to save Alice, I also hope we could save her father before he gets killed by looters so that Alice and by extension the main cast of HOTD would be more disposed to be in favor of us (and our decisions) than say someone like the rat-bastard Shido. Also, I hope that when save Alice we also get to save Zeke (the puppy).

At least some of them will be happy to have him dead, and I frankly can't see Hunk humoring Shido for wathever reason.
Also important to note, takashi and co aren't actually that competent, they only seems so because they mostly fight zombies. In the manga, JSDF soldiers are just beast compared to them, so for someone like Hunk they would just look cute.

Back Roads
"I highly advise we switch to the back roads, main streets are going to be deathtraps." It was common in times of panic for people to hit the main highways and streets, meaning that the main roads would be a trap for anyone unlucky enough to be in the undead's sight. As you were about to take a seat, Shido decided to speak up.

"And why would the main streets be death traps? There's police and soldiers guarding the evacuation." That got the students murmuring, and you were quick to shut him down before he gained any traction. If he was anything like his father, Shido would rather rule over corpses than live under the command of someone else.

Calmly turning your gaze towards Shido, he seemed to flinch a little as you began explaining. "The undead are drawn to noise, sooner or later those guarding them will run out of ammunition." The murmuring died down, and you continued your little impromptu session of explanation. "Once they're out of ammunition, the undead will swarm the people gathered there like an unyielding wall of flesh." People were quiet after that, and you were taking a seat next to a somewhat soft looking teenager with glasses.

As you were keeping an eye on your charge, the student was silently admiring your firearms. After a few moments, he finally spoke up. "I don't mean to be rude, but can I talk about guns?" He was holding a makeshift carbine, or improvised nail-rifle. You figured it wouldn't hurt to indulge him, considering the kid's asking about firearms.

His name was Kohta Hirano, apparently he spent a while training with firearms in the states. "I like your choice of weaponry, is that an MP5A3?" Most people wouldn't be able to see which was which, and he was giddy listing off facts of the MP5A3. "RPM of 800, firing a 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge, commonly seen in the hands of security forces and special tactics units." It was somewhat interesting to hear gun history from a highschooler, but Kohta was surprisingly intelligent on the subject of firearms.

The two of you talked about firearms most of the trip, with some brief interjections where you gave Shizuka directions. Eventually, the bus came to a stop in front of the house you picked out.

Leaving the bus, you stopped for a moment. "I'm going in first to make sure there are no undead or looters, only when I give the signal do you come inside." It was a simple order, and the students were following orders perfectly. Moving inside the two story house, you did a room by room sweep through the house, finding nothing.

Once the signal was given, you began to do a supply check. There was enough food to last the group a few days, at most, if rationed, it could last up to six days if you factored in everyone's caloric intakes.

As you were going over rations, you heard an excited Kohta coming down the stairs. "Hunk you've gotta see this!" Following the giddy gun nut, you left Shizuka to figure out supplies. You were going to help her later, but right now Kohta has found something of use. To your surprise, there was firearms within the safe on the second floor.

An Ithaca 37 Shotgun, an AR-10T Rifle, and a Springfield M1A, all in a single gun safe on the second floor. Whistling, you took note of the attachments and aftermarket parts. Most of these weapons were illegal under Japanese Laws, but the law most likely has bigger fish to fry.

Since Kohta and Takashi found them, you left them in charge. While Takashi demonstrated limited firearms knowledge, Hirano would be there to keep everything in place. You gave him specific instructions to take inventory of everything, from ammunition, to parts, to anything that could be useful in the long run.

You realized that it'd be a perfect time to go looking for supplies, and a perfect time to dispose of a certain thorn in Umbrella's side.
