Author's Note: In order to get rid of my writer's block for another quest, I figured throwing stuff at a wall and using what works. I got Resident Evil and Highschool of the Dead, and now we're here.

...

It was supposed to be a simple mission, purge the Hazardous Material Site in Umbrella's Japanese Branch, dispose of any witnesses, and make damned sure that the world knows absolutely nothing of Umbrella's involvement in the global outbreak. That simple mission turned into a slaughter, as your twenty man team was slowly dwindling to a three person operation. Due to shear numbers, you had to activate the self-destruct system before leaving the entire place to the horde.

But that's what happens when you're the Grim Reaper, HUNK, the missions you're on always turn to shit. While that's never bothered you before, it's been happening lately with your missions always having a 10% survival rate.

They didn't even bother estimating the chances on this one.

Moving through the empty streets of Japan, it was a nightmare in the main streets, and yet it had changed due to the sudden explosion drawing them to the fires. But there were more, if you were familiar with the undead, you knew that they were just assuming a hibernative state without much activity in the surrounding area. If you aren't quiet, you might be walking into a firefight that even Death might meet his maker.

"Yeesh, is it always this quiet during an outbreak?" One of your squadmates mentioned, Maria, you think her name is. She was the team's technician, carrying an MP9 and enough explosives to destroy any door in your way. "Seriously, I feel like I'm being watched yet there's nobody around here." You told her that it was normal, Outbreaks tend to drive people to find salvation elsewhere, and the horde follows them or enters a hibernative state.

In other words, you told her to be quiet.

Your team began to fan out, seeing if any of the vehicles were serviceable. Your fellow squadmate found a corpse in the back seat, missing an arm and having a bite wound on the neck. "Nothing but a corpse here boss," They noted, nudging the cadaver's foot with the barrel of their gun. "Think we should find a ride somewhere else?" As they said that, the corpse began to rise out of the car, and you were about to order your subordinate to duck.

They never got to hear you.

The undead had grabbed them by the back, breaching the seal on their neck and tearing their throat out. Before you could open fire on the undead, you noticed the dying Umbrella Employee had their finger on the trigger. Hitting the deck, bullets streaked over you like angered hornets, and until the weapon clicked empty did you get up. Snapping upwards, you put two shots in the dying soldier and another in the undead, painting the car's interior a dark red. Looking around, you noticed that your remaining trooper was wounded.

Silently swearing up a storm, you began to dress wounds the best you could. The two medics assigned to your team had died at the Umbrella Outpost, leaving you with what little medical training you knew of. This one in particular was surprisingly still alive, despite taking a burst of nine-millimeter to the chest.

As you were dealing with her wounds, you heard the telltale growls of the undead. Taking your sidearm out, you made it quick for them. A parting gift, and to make sure that they don't come back as those things.

Making a quick run, you found a place to take inventory. It was a small store, and after bringing down the grate, you were safe to take inventory. You had chosen your roll for the mission, something to work with a team.

Which loadout are you currently using?

Eh, hopefully this is acceptable. Was tempted to choose the Punisher for bullet penetration shenanigans tbh.

Hmm, dont remember the guns, so I will vote for a plan with a good explanation.
The M1100 is a semi-automatic shotgun, made by Remington, the one that HUNK can use is fitted with an eight round tube, loaded with standard 12 Gauge Buckshot. The MP5A3 is HUNK's signature weapon canonically, but here you can choose whatever you want within reason and sanity. Made by Heckler and Koch, the MP5A3 will most likely have the most common ammunition next to the shotgun. And finally, the L1A1 SLR is the Canadian version of the FN FAL.

As for pistols, the first Triple Shot is a 9x19mm Semi to Burst pistol with a red dot sight and folding grip. Standard magazine is 15, but it can be upgraded to 30. The next is the M1911, boasting the highest damage in the pistol class, at the cost of Ammunition. It's been in service with everyone and their grandmother, and still fires true. As for the P909, it's better referred to as the Nine-Oh-Nine, used by the BSAA and Umbrella as their standard sidearm.

I'm glad you're surprised, did I get him right in the opening?
Seems ok to me, though I don't actually imagine him swearing up a storm in any situation, even silently. He would probably be somewhat cold and analytic all the time, unphased by death and wound, be it his or that of his squadmates, at least that's how I picture him :p
I am hoping we will see some of his legendary CQC skills here.

Chaos In The Streets
You were carrying a standard kit, an MP5A3 fitted with a red dot sight, an M1911, a Combat Knife, and the essential equipment. While you were double checking your inventory, you noticed that Command was attempting contact.

Activating your device, you answered. "HUNK, status report on the rest of Alpha Team." Command was less than happy with the fact that you were their only operative, but they were far more interested in another mission. "But never mind that, we've got bigger fish to fry." A picture of a pink haired teenager appeared on your device, last name Takagi. "One of our major investors has called in a favor, rescue his daughter, and escort her to the Takagi Estate on the other side of the river. We're sending you details now."

"Consider it done, over and out."
Finishing your call with command, you began to analyze your surroundings. The shop you had taken shelter in was a local bar, and one that had escaped most of the devastation. Besides the broken windows covered by the security shutters, there was little to suggest the outbreak had occurred at all.

Hearing the tell tale groan of the undead coming from upstairs, you readied your MP5 and began moving upstairs. Their was an office on the second floor, with a small trail of bloody hand prints leading to it.

Moving closer to the door, you took position on the right side of the door with your knife at the ready. Firing indoors would be inadvisable, considering the noise would only attract more of them. Slowly placing your hand on the door, you threw it open and...Nothing, no undead lurching out to grab whoever opened the door, no crawling corpse.

Investigating further, you found an undead wearing a white shirt and black pants hanging, a bite mark prominent on his shoulder. He wouldn't cause much trouble, hanging around by a sturdily tied rope.

Locking the door behind you, it was high time you left the bar and find the VIP.

...

Finding a route out of the bar was simple, the alleyway was devoid of much life and had escaped the undead's attention...For now, at least. Looking through the possible paths, you had a few ideas on where to go.

The first path was the most direct and shortest possible route, taking only a short amount of time to run through. From what your reports tell you, Takagi was riding a bus with fellow students and two teachers. The only routes that come from her school pass through your first option, though undead are slowly starting to trickle in.

The second path was indirect, instead taking alleyways until you found a more advantageous position to find the VIP. While indirect, it'd be the safest option when taking in the considerable lack of undead.

The third path was somewhat out there, requiring a little bit of running to get there. Command has identified one of the teachers as Marikawa Shizuka, her home is just a mile away, and most likely where the group of kids would be going considering she was seen at the wheel. It'd be simple to use the house as shelter until they arrive, should that be necessary.

...

Which route should you take?

[] Shortest Path (AP Cost: 3, Encounter Chance: High)
[] Alleyways (AP Cost: 5, Encounter Chance: Low)
[] Residential Route (AP Cost: 8, Encounter Chance: ???)

[] There might be another route...
