I'm of the same opinion, but there really is no harm in asking. Asking how the greatest hero alive got literally gutted is a good question. And since he was the one to bring up that he's looking for a successor (even though it's implied that One for All still went to Izuku), there's really no harm in asking what kind of things he'd be looking for in a successor. Without knowledge of One for All, it just sounds like he's looking for somebody to take up the mantle of the Symbol of Peace or of the Number 1 hero spot.
Plus I'm a big fan of comedic misunderstandings and I love the idea that he starts muttering traits that Izuku has, we promise to keep an eye out for students that fit his criteria, and then, weeks later, maybe after the sports festival, just go up to him and recommend Izuku to be his successor.
You're not seeing the bigger picture. School life isn't the only relevant thing in our PC's life.Maybe there's no harm in asking, but I just don't see the point in it.
As much as I like both of them, this isn't an All Might quest, or a Midoriya quest. One for All is their story. Our story is a hero teaching and guiding a class of future heroes (and probably getting into villain fights along the way).
We get one conversation before we meet our students, maybe we should talk the other homeroom teacher, the guy who's done this before.

She is a teacher, yeah, but she is also a pro-hero. She lives in that world and she has the right to be worried when you learn that the top hero is not going to stay in the field for much longer, the same top hero that kept most villains at bay. Who's going to do it as effectively as him and replace him as a Symbol of Peace?
That's the point you're not seeing. You're looking at this from an OOC perspective with metaknowledge, not an IC one.
Eh, we know canonically that not all teachers know that, only a select few which are Aizawa, the Principal, and Midnight, I believe. It's supposed to be secret after all.I disagree. She got briefed on what the other teachers all know. If she were to suspect IC there was more...why would she think that they'd share that here and with somebody they just met?
When you see the number one Hero, go from his usual beefcake figure to a weak skeleton-like figure who coughs blood... Don't tell me you wouldn't be asking, would you?Seems to me that prying is the option that's based on meta-knowledge. Especially the targeted question of how he got hurt so badly. Why would that in particular occur to Alice, unless guided by OOC knowledge?

The main reason, I see why All Might would go back to his weakened state and the Principal himself coming in to see us.
If she really got briefed about it earlier, why would they redo it again? And why would Alice be surprised?

The vote is not based on metaknowledge but from what we've seen so far.
