Hm. Maybe the Tarim Basin? Once civilization gets going, we'd be sitting smack on the perfect route for the Silk Road, and the region is barren enough at first glance that most enemies wouldn't give it a second thought. I mean, would you want to invade the Taklamakan Desert?

I personally would like the Bengali Delta b/c deltas are lit. That and in b4 our first martial hero beats the shit out of a Ultratiger with HER BARE HANDS.

I see. The reason I asked is because of the Great Person mechanic, and the fact that names are somewhat necessary to distinguish historical figures. Thank you for clarifying!

    • The Veles. Yes...that was the name of our people. The name evolved over time...developing an adjective form. Velesian lands were owned by the Veles. Velesian buildings were built by the Veles. Furthermore, it would one day evolve into a singular form. A Vele. A man would say, "I am a Vele." But in those early years we were only known by what we called ourselves. We were the Veles.

    But you did not come here to hear a story of Etymology. The long winter had ended. The Darkness had fled as the sun broke through once more. Humanity began to flourish. My people began their nomadic life on the continent of Asia. We were a small group numbering only:

    Though the majority of our time in the long winter had been focused on survival. We had developed some cultural traditions. Our society had become a:

    We could have a goddess as our religious figure, too, even without matriarchy.

    And can we please not do Japan?

    It's not a terrible area, but I already think that I can see what will happen if we end up there, in terms of our culture.
