Epoch: A Grand-Strategy Quest

*Rise eyebrow*

Where's South East Asia? Unless South Asia count.
Trying to avoid too many option ms because then you have like only 2-3 people voting for winning vote.

If by south east Asia you mean the island nations, then prolly not an option. You can always conquer them later :p

Your region is gonna be pretty broad and, in larger regions (South Asia, Middle East etc) you won't onow exactly where you are at without exploring. Plus...geography might change a bit :)

Closing vote sometime tomorrow. Night all

You'll see...

There is a reason the game information encourages critical thinking. Voting purely on preference can be detrimental to your survival.
Starvation, and environmental hazards are worse than steppe hordes players need to roll nat100s to have a chance to repel?

Antartica was never going to possibily be able to be a viable choice beyond turn 1, was it?

If I may ask: Is Antartica a trap option in the sense of word meaning 'basically unwinnable' under the physical rules used within this quest?

It depends on what you consider winnable :p

If developing a thriving civilization lasting centuries is your goal...the initial survival checks to develop that way would be quite high. Of course...you could always develop in less natural ways...

The place has penguins (food, maybe, I'm not sure they're safe to eat), but a way to make fire puts things into really hard on an Antartica civ. Eskimoes got a civ, but they were linked to North America, and could pick up rocks, or hunt fire.

I'll be kind

Turn 1 Antarctica
50% chance you flat out die.
30% chance you Middle around until turn 2 (which would have increased survival odds. 35% chance you die)
20% chance the extreme conditions cause you to develop in such a way the cold is not a problem.

That's interesting. So directed/nonstandard/essentially magical evolution is viable then?
