[X] The Feather floats on the wind, and is no less worthy a warrior for the magic it wields. Your shadow writhes, your skin turns to porcelain, you bleed black dust. You fight to be strong enough to matter, to challenge fate and the will of God. The enemy's power allows no retort, so you will bring down the sky with each wailing bolt of power that he may never reach you.

Every step forward.
Without hesitation.
Unto the end of the path.

[X] The Spear attacks relentlessly, accepting wounds and dealing them in turn. Old injuries ache, your chest is on fire, there is blood on your tongue. You fight to be whole again, to challenge a forgotten self who thought she couldn't endure her own memories. The enemy is stronger and faster, but you will endure any wounds, heal yourself and come back again and again.

Her release command is Challenge, let her challenge her past as well.

[X] The Spear

Nemo has made herself into a weaver, a thing of beauty, and a person who gives and gives and gives of themself. The sort of person who, when it comes time to apply herself, she does so at the cost of her own health.

So when it's come time for her to not only decide the future of her soul, but to bare herself to the three Shinigami as well, then she should do so with all of herself, holding nothing back.

[x] The Feather

I like all these options so I'll try and keep the Feather in the running.

[X] The Braid ties together one who was and one who is; a battle on two fronts. Cracks spread across your mask, your sword is slipping out of your grasp. You fight so you can be human, be better, to challenge the nature of all who were once Hollow. Without the shadow's strength you can only fail until you reach your breaking point - but you will not yield until then.

[X] The Braid

Discussion has convinced me that this is less of a rejection and more a surpassing of hollow nature.

After all, braids are an interweaving of different strands, first and foremost.

I don't agree with this analysis at all. I see all these as less relations to Nemo's imagery, and more "Which character present are we paralleling?"

The Spear: Ikakku threw himself at life's challenges, not merely embracing them but seeking out ever more. So must we prepare to face challenge after challenge.

The Feather: Yumachika has turned away from hiding, revealing and embracing his true shikai. So shall Nemo reveal and embrace herself.

The Braid: Unohana rejected and turned back on her past to change herself into another, kinder person. And so shall Nemo, for so long as she can.

So, while I'm not perfectly happy with any of the options, at present I'm inclined to either The Feather, or The Spear. (Though with Tousen present, I'm curious as to what "The Visor" would even be.)

For now I will choose:

[X] The Feather

To me it seems that the strategy is largely irrelevant. So I am picking based on why we fight, and for this fight, right now, this option feels most appropriate. It's a bit... smaller in scope than the other two, I guess, but while those other two deal with what seems to be somewhat deeper and larger reasons to me, they also seem wrong. Not entirely of course, but enough that it matters to me.

To just add another dinension to the vote -

But he will. And in you he will see someone else.

Each option corresponds to a person he will see echoed in Nemo.

Quite obviously Ikkaku.

Himself, feather referring to his weird eyebrow feathers, and method referring to his own skill with Kido.

This one I'm less sure of. There are a handful of characters with braided hair, but the only pertinent one I can think of is Unohana.

The fighting style doesn't match Yachiru remotely, but then Yumichikka has never even met Yachiru. Plausible match for Retsu though.

Little surprising he knows who Unohana was, but quite plausible given I think he does all the division paperwork (As the only member that can read and write :p) Coupled with looking through ceremonial history for the funeral him finding it makes sense.

Edit: Gods damn entire analysis ninjad.

I'll admit that the discussion on the feather is making me want to vote for it but I don't know if splitting the vote even more between those two is what I want to do right now

So, that was cool. And we got introduced to another plotthread, Modsoul jailbreak.

Huunh...
So take up Ikkaku's never say die.
Reflect Yumichika back at him.
Or Smile as Unohana does.
That's...Interesting...
