[X] An old assault rifle of some kind, oddly familiar looking...

Welcome, old friend.

Yeah I'll always support the Auto Rifle.

[X] A boxy-looking rifle with an unfamiliar logo. what the heck is 'MIDA'?

I love scout rifles and MIDA is useful anyway

Burst rifle?

At this stage in the game, I think a Swiss Army knife of a weapon might be best. Think of all the possible applications it may have, applications that may save the skin of a wisp of a Guardian like ourselves!

Murrr but the Khovostov!
I suppose it may be better stats-wise but I'm thinking about this from the point of view of the story: what might give us more interesting options story wise. And with that in mind, a gun with lots of non-combat utility strikes me as more interesting than anything else. Though I'm rusty on Destiny's lore, wouldn't the hand cannon put a target on our backs (and thus be very interesting in its own way?)

The weapons are going to be roughly the same stats wise, mostly because I'm very emphatically not planning to go into minutiae of numbers in this quest.

I'm writing this because I feel that Destiny has a deeply underappreciated story and lore to it and I want to present some of that story and lore in my own way so that others can appreciate it as I do. The focus will be on narrative, not stats.

I mean... The Khovostov will be a better mid range weapon while the Last Word will be better up close and the MIDA better at long range, but outside of that...

We're a Hunter, Close to Mid-range is our thing, the Khovostov would compliment us best providing rapid fire to support getting up close to gank them with our Arcblade.

Not closed, just giving a tally so that everyone knows where things stand at present.
Adhoc vote count started by Spectral Waltz on May 13, 2018 at 10:45 PM, finished with 118 posts and 11 votes.

Again, I think the Khovostov suits a Hunter better, if we were a Titan I'd say the Last Word, a Warlock the Multi-Tool but a hunter is a Mid to Close Range fighter

Going to bed, got work tomorrow. Vote closure will probably wait until the evening since that's when I'll have the time to write.

A Destiny Quest and I'm learning about this now? When it's too late to prevent the protag from becoming a Hunter? FML.

Anyway, Mida Multi Tool for lyfe. Khvostov was a disappointment :/

I get the feeling, I tried to make him a Warlock but… there were just too many of 'em! I was overrun

I alaways fight from either as far away as I can get, or right up in people's faces

And I went with Hunter

Go back to the library nerd, and take yer multi tool with you, us Hunters on need our knives and boots to survive.
Typical Huntard behavior!

I joke, of course. I've played all classes, though the Hunter is the one I like the least. I don't like how they've been portrayed as two-bit rogues. Much more could have been made of them. Their only useful and characteristic ability tends to be the dodge.

Still. A Hunter are we in this Quest. I strive for excellence. Let's be Hunter Vanguard eventually.
