Yeah I'm glad that's not the case since I got the impression they do things in a smarter way if the way they use Caldrans mercenaries who use smart or unusual tactics to fight the war against an superior opponent.

I would think this would invalid most of the issues for the nice normal classmates, now I really want to know what issues they could have apart from nobles.

Not sure if you miss it but Kei I was wonder about Dorothy death, could we have stop that with a different cause of action or was she fated to die?

That's not actually how you tag people, @Jrin . You do so by adding an "@" before their username. ^_^;

And I really don't know. It seemed like a thing that was proper to add at the end of it all, but I really can't tell you whether or not things would've worked out differently.
 
You know what, in light of the conversation we've had above, because I accidentally gave her an expanded role akin to Penelope and Wendy, and because we lack any other named Caldran mercenary apprentice from the peasantry, Ashlyn is now a possible voting choice. Don't feel pressured to vote for her if you don't want to. ^_^;

I'm comfortable with doing this because the next update isn't even going to happen until after Interlude 2. So I expect a lot of vote-changing in the meantime. =P

Because I hate myself everyone seems a little concerned about the topic, I am also considering expanding the characters whom Neianne will seek out in the next real update to five, even if everyone only gets four votes. Or maybe we'll make it five. I don't know. I'm such a wishy-washy person. >_<

Reasoning:

Ashlyn we've never talked to, IIRC, so we should as she seems nice; besides, Lucille is her friend and needs some cheering up, I imagine - maybe we can help? Or maybe we cannot.
Wendy is because we've helped her or something and thus should try building up on it - and our team helped her despite her being human non-noble, which should probably be of some use.
Mia is a pick which can be of use because Mia knows everyone - which means that knowing her is likely useful due to her being useful in case we need to connect to somebody else. "Networking" and all that adult jazz, ugh.
Plus she is a nice bundle of cheer and we certainly need some of that in the aftermath of the attack.

If Kei allows 5 votes instead of 4, I will basically switch to Lau's plan via adding Vesna or add Stephanie back, I am not yet sure.

Ashlyn/Lucille for a combo, plus both are interesting at the moment anyway.
Vesna is interesting person who seems fairly affable, although I am not sold on her tbch.
Wendy seems fairly diplomatic as far as things go, and she did help us get back into Academy after we got drunk.
Mia is useful for cheering up everyone in the general vicinity and due to knowing everyone in academy. Plus she seems generally fun, IMO, and less of a stressful thing to be around than some people.

not giving up elizabeth as she's one of the dangerous ones and I want to keep an action to figuring her out/dealing with her/staying on her good side until Neianne has her figured out and caring. besides, she's entertaining.

shy like the MC but driven and interesting, I'm curious as to just how she's resolved to improve herself to make this never happen again, considering last time she decided to practice wind magic till she could cut through a wyvern scale.
[x] Azalea Cherilyn Charmaine
friendly and likely to give Neianne a good chance to de-stress and perhaps enjoy herself. Also a good connection. Most importantly, shes one of Neiannes only friendships not based on combat.
[ ] Vesna Rainer
friendly and adventurous, a possible friend in the making who would help push Neianne out of her shyness. Not that important however in building Neianne up, and azalea can help socialize the MC anyways
[x] Wendy
she didn't try to kill Neianne in return when Neianne started sparring with the buster sword and she was a good sparring partner.
[ ] Sieglinde Corrina Ravenhill
as the one Neianne is closest to I'm not against them growing closer, and it would likely help Neianne to improve. that said, we don't need to do so, and I don't think she's the most important to grow closer to. That said, growing even closer to her could also change a lot of things

Ultimately Vensa isn't that important, most of the other characters don't interest me sufficiently, and I'm choosing Wendy for making another friend over deepening the relationship with Sieglinde, for now at least. That said, I've noticed people saying we shouldn't socialize with our squad as we will have the future to do that in, but we should keep an eye on that so that we don't just keep procrastinating on that and thus never getting as close as we could/should have.

It's not that some of us don't want to spend time with our team, it's that we'll be spending time with them anyway, so I'd rather branch out in our interactions more in 1st year and then focus on a smaller group next year.

Yeah, pretty much this: Kei did say that once we are grow up a bit more, there will be cliques forming and talking to outsiders will be seen as something "weird"; more acceptable to social butterfly like Mia, perhaps, but less so to us.

Team bonding is a given later too, but a wider spread of contacts seems to be on a ticking timer.

She is already tied in 5th with Melanie and Azalea. It is just several people somehow managed to fuck up their votes so you have to merge them and most people tallying don't bother/notice. Here is how it currently is, feel free to tally again and yell at the people making our lives difficult.

I'm Curious how did that not recognize the fact I changed my vote from Penelope to Wendy?
