[X] Plan Magnificent Bastard

SV often has issues playing this type of character but it could be fascinating if it works out. Considering the only other real contender gives the protagonist re-spawning in SA:O, it's not a hard vote for me.

On it' own this is overpowered but now consider- that only works as long as the world does not notice it.

And if it does notice anything, and it will, that thing we did is GONE.
Respawn glitch won't be removed for us. Everyone else, yes, but not us. Because it technically 'fixes' the code and allows us to respawn, since such an ability was in the game in the first place. The game will fix the other glitches, but not the respawn glitch. Hence, God Mode. Or Ressurective Immortality Mode. Which ever you prefer calling it. Only one capable of killing us is the developer of the game itself. Who, whilst having quite a number of unfair advantages, is still one person. Hence why he'd use his slaves guild members to hunt us down, and most likely bring us to him. And that's an easy escape, by just flat out not interacting with anyone. Which is easy when at least half the player base hates your guts for your cheating.

So yeah. God mode. AKA, boring to the extreme. We have some all powerful jackass after us. Oh, so intimidating and exciting. NOT. It's a tired cliche that is very hard to execute well in an entertaining matter. So as I have once described True Magic before, it is Kirito 2.0; Respawn Edition.

@Birdsie.

Could I have the glitch power but remove the respawn for... I don't know, less attention and longer lasting normal glitches?

I am getting tired with the 'Ruining the game' comments.

Trondason, Drepson,KalTheRadiant, Kerfirou, Rossum, Amo,Marlin, Demenos, drake_azathoth,Cawasnow, Blitzkreug, BunnyLord.

Would you guys be OK with removing the respawn from True Magic?
Finding glitches is a fine power with potential for fun and cheesy opprotunities. But the whole re enabling the respawn mechanic thing gets rid of the biggest threat from the original series and does not have a proper backdraw in response to it. When you have ressurective immortality in a death game, it kind of loses the death aspect. Yes, we will have this game's God on our ass, but that's not a proper drawback due to him being one person and seemingly forced to rely on his guild to get his hands on us.

What keeps the game from reapplying the patch to remove the respawn exactly?

The God is using his cultists because he cannot type in (kill_Aldrich) and kill us anywhere, but because there are x-who-can-guess-how-many people and he does not know who we are.

The secound we are fighting a boss, a minion, or just fall off something and die with ANYTHING recording/noticing us the glitch will be reported to the Angel [AI] and the messenger will, if we are considered "worthy of notice", notify God [The developer].

God will then look at his Power [codes] and notice that we are lighting candles from it' embers.

Then he Smites us with death or something even worse unless he feels really merciful and just makes a command [patch] to make the world obey his will again [remove the glitch].

This:
but the name and rumors about the player who "lives" will spread and people might seek your services for suicide missions since you of all people can afford to take the risk. Guilds will also race to get you in them, except for the Knights of the Red Oath who will relentlessly hunt you down at Heathcliff's orders.
Tells me that he needs to get his physical hands on us, and that the system can't fix the respawn glitch that re-enables respawn for us personally.

Or that, like how he attacked the Protag without his immortality, he is enjoying the game of cat and mouse.

He could end it with two words but doesn't for the same reason you are saying that we ruin the game with respawn- It is no fun.

And the 'suicide missions' bit does not mean that we still respawn after once- just that someone noticed that we did a Lazarus and rumors abound of the incident.

Here is the revised version then, not much changed but I figured that I should prop him up for inspection.

Replace it with this for distinction.

[] Glitchworking *Proposition by @dunk1010*: You've found several loopholes in the Cardinal System through research and it finds it difficult to detect your abuse because you've found out how its pattern recognition algorithm works. You can exploit the game in various ways, such as making some items last longer, copy items, glitch through walls using items and mechanics. Doing these things tends to be tedious and usually can't be done in fight-or-flight situations but it does put you a shelf above others. As soon as someone finds out, expect lots of attention.

Since my vote isn't going to win, I'll just throw what little weight I have behind another vote.
[X] Plan Sunshine in a Bottle

If you're changing the vote you should make a new post entirely, with a different name. "True Magic v2" for example.

Otherwise you're pulling out the rug from under everyone who voted for it before this.

The funny thing about Plan True Magic is that in a way, it can indeed be considered a form of True Magic.

The difference between 'normal' and 'true' magic is that the former is something pre-coded in the game; intended by the developers. The 'true' magic is something that truly abuses the game's reality in ways that were never meant to be found out; forbidden, secret, using loopholes. The 'normal magic' is like a normal action in the world, available to anyone who learns it, like learning to dance. The true magic; use of exploits and glitches, was never meant to be learned and it is not methodical. It's an unstable, chaotic non-system of abusing mistakes in the "fabric of reality" to create useful effects.

Then there's the 'truer' magic, which would be hacking. Fortunately, the player can't do that - that's right out - so I don't have to worry.

EDIT: Anyway, since votes are changing and stuff is going on, I feel like I'll postpone the tally once more. I really don't want the voting to be cut short during character creation of all times.

Yeah, knew that was somewhere. Hence why Glitchworking is a powerful trait that I can't mind too much about it winning.

The plan maker has a right to not need to do anything more than just informing people their plan changed.

It fucks over the old voting block though.

Since if you voted for the previous version and liked it more than the new one, you need to make an entirely new plan which repurposes the old.

Meanwhile, the new plan effectively 'steals' the votes of inattentive users from the previous one.
