I'd hope a literal trial by fire would calm our nerves.Yeah, @Azel, do we have to do the spirit talking again?
On the plus side, it's only rolling a 20 or lower that fucks us over.
Also, did we just find a bible?

Why a bible of all things?

[X] Go back to the main chamber.
-[X] Take the right door.
I stand by my original decision making, right door is safer.
Pocket sized Codex gives IC reason to want a notebook.
Thankyou @Azel
Actually by your previous reasoning middle door is safer, we'll be going from left to midle or from left to right. One way or another we get past the middle one
I don't know how you could fathom it up. Of course we won't.We're not giving the codex to the Wise Men, btw. I'm still kind of mad they took the other codex we found away from Noche's apprentice. Poor kid almost died to get that thing.
No actually it doesn't, my original reasoning was based on physical orientation and having one side covered and also being unlikely to step out from an outcropping and having to watch the space behind you also which is a possibility with the middle path.
A bit of paranoia is good for the soul.I don't know how you could fathom it up. Of course we won't.
Good think the kid studied it obsessively.
I... Really don't understand what you're saying. Honestly.

This is how I see this room, except for my poor image, it has a door we came from in the "south", and three others leaving. Your reasoning was to avoid the most of them by going through the side. Now, we are leaving from the leftmost door. We pass through less space and we would need to get past it to get to the right door. So, since I'm confused, can you explain how this goes better in your reasoning of avoiding the spirits?
Edit: Damn, he won't let space bars between the parts.
Images are hard I feel ya.
I'll try to write it out.
Behind us, established safe zone.
In front of us, open court area.
And the three doors I took to be at cardinal points W, N and E though thinking about it that was arbitrary.
I take it you saw three doors opposite us all going parallel "North".
If it's cardinal points then Left/West had, from the doorway looking in, established safe ground/blank wall left, unknown forward, unknown right, established safe ground behind (open courtyard).
For Middle at this stage I would see us having, established safe ground behind (open courtyard), potentially established safe ground/blank wall left, unknown forward and unknown right.
Of course depending how far we walk through the doorway the left may no longer be assumed safe.
This is super messy to explain, especially on phone which is why I didn't even bother trying to draw.
I'm sure it doesn't matter but hopefully you understand I was coming from some kind of logic.
I think I understand some of what you're talking, but doesn't the right one leave as many unknowns as the middle one?
If we go through middle a short enough distance to have known what was to our left yes, if we go further then no it'd be a difference of 1 unknown.
I got the impression that we've seen a large portion of the space behind and to the sides of us when looking over the Fire Sprites chamber, which should cover the right hand wall of the right hand door.
