Shadows of the Past

Unsurprisingly. After the ritual, you where much closer to the living dead then to actual humans.
How does that work if we eat, for example, an animal 2 weeks after we ate the last one? Resets counter, or is there another factor at play?

Edit: Luckily, long-term sea voyages aren't a thing.

Materials: Fleshweaver Heart, Fleshweaver Brain, Fleshweaver Liver (?), Clotting Salve (Quality 2), Purging Sludge (Quality 5)
Primary Aspect: Fleshweaver
Secondary Aspect: Healing
Base DC: 100

Performers: Yaxkin
Astronomic Impact: light positive, +20 to Alchemy checks

Round 1: Balancing
DC 300
Yaxkin: 89 + 30 (Intelligence) + 30 (???) + 20 (Astronomic) = 169
14 Degrees of Failure
Little question, what turned the base DC 100 into a 300?

Was using secondary materials a mistake or was it us not knowing what the hell we are doing that raised the DC to literal impossibility?

I assume eating flies doesn't count. It was apparently very important for the targeted animals to suffer. Additionally, we ate at least a whole hog, a bird, and a wolf. That's a lot of material! We'd have to munch on so many flies to get that sort of mass in.

Well, we had to restore ourself from severe damage from the Fleshweaver and the ritual both.
I think regular feeding will be less.

Base DC x 3 = Initial Stabilization DC
Loosing a reagent -> Add Base DC
Loosing an Aspect -> Add Base DC x2

There are other conditions.

Adding the secondary aspect was a good call, since even if you lost it, it still slanted the result table to useful traits. Without it, you might have gotten a poisonous bite or something equally useless.

Fuckin hell... now I have feels.

I salute how you dare to inflict lessons on the player base Azel. :p

That was one tasty update. Yum! The moment I saw its name I knew our problem was solved one way or the other.
However, the same affliction that made you draw on a spirits essence in the first place can be cured by such acts.
What does this mean? Do we cure similar mental afflictions by the act of live consumption, or physical ones, does the trait fade away with time, or what?

Would rather not tell everything to Xochi. She is returning back to the city, and she still has a mission involving the Wise Men. What she doesn't know can't hurt her, as long as we bring her back within the next lunar cycle.

[x] Go down to Xochi.
-[x] Tell her a carefully edited version of the truth.
-[x] The ritual has succeeded. You are healed now, though it took its toll on you. You will need to bandage her and return to Tlamaca as soon as possible.

Yaxkin takes 8 ???-Damage. Now at 6/30
Can you please explain this part? Did we get 24 wounds from a failed ritual? Yikes.

Also, can the sections about Wound Dressing be added to the Mechanics?

a disgusting piece of meat weighing nearly as much as your.

Your... What?

As you finally comprehend just way you

way -> why

[X] Go away.
-[] Return once you cleaned yourself up.

It's not a big deal, but the distraction of "warm tasty bodies all around me" is going to get very annoying very quickly. I'm going to prioritize getting rid of this horrible trait as soon as we can manage.

Thus we should do what we should've been doing since we got to this city: train and learn. I really dont trust anyone we know that can do alchemy to try to fix for us, and us fixing ourselves needs us to be alot better at alchemy, so we'll have to deal with it for now.

I don't think it's the mass that counts, if it was the animal wouldn't need to be alive. My guess is that we consume something spiritual, thus the ghoul thing is even more usable, and if that is the case the size might not matter, but the interior yes... So, we ate all those things, but maybe a single human could've sufficed. Yet, I'm very happy we didn't eat our teacher. Let's fix her, there's no need to explain the price or the previous defects, when we come back clean we can just say it worked, and that we needed it to work to properly treat her.

@Azel, I am a bit confused about the vote. I want to try and help Xochi and then leave. But obviously it is a bad idea to dress wounds while drenched in gore, so I would have thought that it is simply common sense that Yaxkin will clean herself up, except this is explicitely given as a vote option.

Sounds good. There is really no need for Xochi to know that we will crave living meat a month in the future

There is no way to clean yourself in the cave, so you need to find a water fountain and it might take a while to both find and use. The option about going to her is about going as you are to not waste time and energy in hiding what you did, since you will be drenched in blood.

Cleaning up is just an attempt to conceal what happened. If we go to her, there is no hiding our state, but its exact effects may be... available to interpretation.
