Anime Rival Quest (Very Meta)

[X] [Clinic] Accept. Stay the night at the clinic.
[X] [Appearance] Seven

What we've got right now is a bit of a mysterious thing going, but that's not going to keep audience interest long. Do we perpetuate the mysteriousness, potentially painting us as somewhat hostile, if decent person, or do we insert ourselves as an good-aligned independent, who is rivals with the hero because of their actions?

If we do good-aligned independence, we can still keep our mysteriousness, and get even more screen time while still making our point about the hero's actions by forcing the point in after she's suffered the consequences.
I'm personally aiming for Sailor Saturn kinda dealio. Smug, sassy, and very mysterious danger boy-cute; but ultimately a good and with Hotaru as a cinnamon roll component. Only the same person and with a shocking reveal that cinnamon senpai is the smug and mean but kind rival. That said we could be her kohai at school despite being senpai in magicalness! That would allow mutual headpats!

Or we could just look cuter and then have a moment where we say; "Sorry, but... I'm actually not a freshman but a senior."

I feel I must push back against all this cutesy stuff by demanding heavy rock opening and ending music.

Just gotta say, I hate overtime. It leaves me too tired to do anything but flop into bed when I get home.

Sorry for the delay everyone. I'll try to post once I wake up this evening, but sadly, the update may end up waiting until Wednesday when I have my day off instead. I'll do my best to keep you posted.

Bruh cute is justice

It's Mahou Shoujo for a reason too. And even if it weren't I would advocate cuteness. Soft fluffy moments match well with anything.

Pls don't. Violence and shit is fine but let's just let this magical girl-ish show actually just be a magical girl-ish show. The Sailor Moon manga was plenty dark and violent, and even the anime got dark in the season finales. You don't have to "subvert expectation" to have cool shit.

Why yes, I am exasperated that there's a super popular original Magical Girl quest on this site where one of the tags is "Brutality". The rampant obsession with super brutal "subversive" Magical Girl stuff eclipses actual interest in the genre these days.

Oh fuck hi there soul sibling

It's really ironic but Madoka is basically Sailor Moon combined with Kannazaki no Miko tbh. It's not actually as much a deconstruction as people think. Mahou Shoujo has always been quite dark.

@no. your reading more into that than what I was implying but that's my fault for not being clear about what I was saying I never meant that we try to emulate any of the stuff that goes on in that series I just meant we could be a little more surprising than what people would expect and the bit of dislike that was going on because of the cuteness bothered me a bit because I only know 5 magical girl series and they're all pretty serious in their own rights
Sailor moon, madoka, card captor, Tokyo mew mew, and shugo chara
And that's the part that some people don't get about magical girls unless they try one like myself because I was a dbz kid and I wasn't even remotely interested until I tried one.

Edit sorry about the text I'm doing this on a phone pc still giving me trouble.

Most of the 'Mahou shoujo fans' here don't actually watch Mahou shoujo that's made for the usual audience tbh. They watch mainly stuff like Symphogear. Stuff made for guys that mostly removes the shoujo part from the Mahou. How many people do you see talking about Tokyo Mew Mew or Kaito Jeanne? If it's not full of underage lesbian waifu bait then the majority of quests won't care worth a damn.

@Lilithium from my experience I'd say your right but that would be really disappointing.

Edit:by the way do edits pop up in alerts because I edited my post on the last page I made a final plea for appearance 7 because if it wins I want Aisha to be the heroine.

Disappointing to the point I no longer bother even trying to enjoy Madomagi related fanfic/quests due to years of over-saturation and general 'all must be lesbians' bullshit? Yeah, I'm very bitter in general.

If it weren't for the fact that our character needs the audience like he does I'd be advocating being the Yukito and finding our Touya as soon as possible. But also most of SV voters would never want to play a gay guy and this isn't a Clamp series so I guess I'll just die waiting for Hollow Order to update. Actually it might still be a Clamp series. Clamp loves dark shit. If we find sufficient gay of all kinds then the chance of being in a Clamp anime goes up to 50%.

Clamp is the real best girl. I want to marry Clamp-tan. I'm very happy about Clear Card. Everytime I think about it I start to get emotional and tear up.

Madoka is much like Terminator 2; a great work that's somewhat tarred because it started bad trends.

*crossing fingers*

Can Seven win a clutch victory after all?

Prbably not, but eh! One looks awesome, too.

I wonder what kind of character development Rival-kun will have. Would this be a Defrosting the Ice Queen kind of relationship? Could we maintain our Magnificent Bastard status? Would that be the kind of thing we have control over or something thd QM decides as we go along?

Hero-chan, too. I wonder what her story is; we've gotten so little so far that I'm just ravenous. ^^

I'm debating whether or not to give you a means of viewing your own episodes and such. Maybe a computer with meta-capabilities or something... For when you're not 'onscreen'?

Or should I just keep it self contained?

I'd propose that we keep it self-contained. We can have 'Episodes' of where we spy the events that happens in the actual Anime Episode (potential Interlude chapters?) and whatnot, but without actually being shown to the In-Universe Audience.

Heres something i want to know though what is the name of our show?

Eh... To be honest I never gave it much thought. It's not really all that important?

If you guys want to toss out ideas, go nuts.

Oh, and the one good thing about many hours of boring work is that I have a lot of time to think about things, so expect content once I'm not dead from exhaustion. I have my day off tomorrow and if I'm lucky I may also get Thursday as well, meaning I'll have plenty of time to write.
