In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.
I'm sorry that you got treated so poorly on the Tabletop RPGs thread. That poster's remarks to you were prejudiced in the extreme and absolutely unacceptable. I can honestly hope he takes the time off to reflect and apologise to you. But that is perhaps the eternal optimist in me.
You got any survey book recommendations on the Roman Republic? I have my own ideas but figure I'd ask you first since I was quite impressed with your own knowledge.
Your Ancient Rome Quest is fantastic, and I caught up to it recently. I love the historical consistency you had wrote into the ancient Roman world. I hope to reach a level similar to you in the near future.
Hey Telamon! Any chance the 'Res Publica' quests will return? That was amazingly fun to read & participate in, especially since I was teaching World History at the time and was able to recommend that quest to my students during the unit on ancient Rome. Remarkably insightful and true-to-life.
