Sailor Moon arguably kicked off the modern 'magical girl genre', because it really doesn't have much in common with Kiki's Delivery Service et al (the previous genre with that name). And it's literally just an all-girl super sentai team. I hadn't known/remembered enough to put it together before now, but it's amazing. And pretty useful to know if you want to play with magical girl tropes. -
