I figured I'd share some of the music I've been making and posting to YouTube lately. Nothing fancy, just for fun.

Someone dropped the ball and let me have access to a DAW and Synthesizer V. As such, I inflict upon you all: generic electro-pop, featuring a variety of synthesized vocalists rendered in anime style. It feels like 2011-era YouTube all over again.

Pardon the questionable mastering on some of these - it's a hobby, not a job, and to avoid succumbing to the perfectionism demon when I'm trying to have fun I've made a habit of deliberately stopping myself at 90-95% "done."

Woe, Teto be upon ye. Let the 80's flow through you. Or don't.

Something slightly more danceable, assuming anyone on SV dances (I certainly don't). Bonus Synth V interface in the video, back when recording the notes scrolling by seemed like an Awesomecool Idea.

Forgive the slightly emo lyrics. I listened to too much Breaking Benjamin as a teen. I still do, but I used to as well.

There's more, but this post already takes up too much screen space as is. It's all on my YouTube should you not have suffered enough yet.

Some of you may have noticed in the video descriptions that the voicebanks used have "AI" in the name. I want to make it very clear - to the extent that my research has been able to determine, and understanding that this is closed-source software and thus some information simply isn't available, none of the products offered by Dreamtronics or their partner companies (Synthesizer V or any of the voicebanks) use any kind of unethically obtained training data. All voice providers do so with full knowledge and consent and receive fair compensation. Synth V is basically just turbo-Vocaloid. Not trying to write a press release for them here, just making it clear that while a lot of AI stuff isn't great from an ethical standpoint, so far as I can tell Dreamtronics is doing everything right on that front. If this turns out not to be the case, know that they've deceived me just as much as you.
