@_Plague Doctor_ You're in contol of the character, I only control the outcomes. Treat it like a character and you're writing their part in the story. It makes it easier for me to give me something to work with :D
 
I'm sorry if this is an interruption, since I have no plan to join this RP, but I saw this thread and for some reason find it charming and now I've got Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner stuck in my head. I just wanted to extend a thumbs-up.

(Roland might actually work as a joke character in this RP, for all I know)

The Scientist is using his knowledge of plans for if the Soviets invaded the facility he works at. First, identify a route out. If none exists. Make one or find the nearest Allied base.
 
I had to make one more post. The only one out of all of us that knows who might know who the Nazis are is Alexander. Nazis don't exist in my timeline, PDF doesn't have that history. NCR trooper may know but it's unlikely. Even then, Alexander might not know either.

@Kensai 's Colonel Toyen should know what Nazis are. (Of course, it may take a bit to realise given the different iconography)

She's just a corporal, although a Slammers corporal is often as skilled as a commissioned officer in a lesser military. But yes, given a bit more information and a moment to reflect she would likely make the connection.
 
@Kadaeux Would it be possible for Tal to come across things like Nazism, communism and authoritarianism during his study of human philosophy? also I'm just going to call the Nakata'vho-pattern rifle (it's the Halo 1 plasma rifle) an SMG for ease of writing.

Strictly speaking, it's hard to say, the UNSC seemed to be going down a fair bit of the authoritarian road when the Covenant hit, so I speculate getting ahold of material detailing older stuff like Nazis and Communists would be more difficult, though it would not be difficult to have come across material on authoritarianism itself.

Being so uncertain, i'll see what my dice have to say.

Ok. Tal will have come across some material on authoritarianism, and while it doesn't elaborate on it, the word 'Nazi' and 'Communist/Communism" etc would trigger an association in Tal.

Theoretically, though it should be noted that while Hammers' Slammers is a bit vague as to the timeframe in which the Slammers operate, it seems likely that Nazi Germany is as remote to Cpl. Toyen's past as the War of the Roses is to us, if not more so.

And I couldn't tell you without looking it up, which color of roses was associated with which side of that war, for instance.

Given how Drake wrote his NCO characters, I'd more than half expect a "Blood and martyrs, who has time to keep track of that cop?" out of her.

Given how central WWII is to the development of history since, I'd suggest it'd be more like, say, the Crusades - where even fairly ignorant people at least know that one side had the crosses and one side had the crescents.

I'm also thinking of writing Toyen as someone of hidden depths - the sort who might end up as an E-8 someday.

Will be honest, I am a bit worried that Crescents character will randomly shoot us, just for the sheer fact he is from 40k. Surprised he hasn't tried to shoot the Elite.
 
@TrueGuardian32 He's less outwardly xenophobic as a result of his home planet bring near Tau space. He is very much so wary of overly friendly people he doesn't know, be they xeno or human.
 
Yeah, but he has someone in a uniform barking orders at him, so like a good trooper he's going to do as he's told. Grunts are the same everywhere.

He can't be calling Toyen "sir" though. She works for her living.

Heh. Toyen has taken command lead. While Gerald is trying his best to put a long term plan in place. Gerald is currently trying to take a page out of the legendary Commando Havocs book. (Red Alert Equivalent) and is getting the big guns active, or at least focused on the targets that need to die the most.

Edit: Gerald is going to attempt to loot some guns from corpses soon.

Since the Wheelchair bound guy helped my character, my character is now keeping an eye out for them. currently they are going to loot a gun and try to repel the Nazis.
