[X] A Prophet

An idol is limited to those whom know of it, who can see and sit in rapture before it. An avatar shares this flaw, for while mobile it is still shackled some finite distance from the point of its manifestation. A vessel would serve well enough, but why suffer the limitation of separation from dreams at the very first opportunity that dream-wielding has provided? No, a prophet is the best path, the truest path to growth and power. An agent that can independently cultivate fervor for us, reinforcing our own efforts to do so.

[X] A Prophet

[X] An Idol

The Avatar was tempting, but a but too limited for my taste, and too easily caught if one of the Airs glances at it (and we know there is one such Lord who rules over the winged ones, and this is their city). Both the Prophet and Idol seem safer to me, and arguably more insidious, able to spread our influence without as much direct risk.

[X] A Prophet: You brush, gently, softly, against the edges of the slave girl's thoughts, and the contact of it shakes every layer of her being. Her heart fills with a wonder and a fear she cannot place. The candle bends in a dark wind. Whatever she was before dies in an instant, and what lives on will have a ruthless edge. Her eyes will be bright and sharp forever, and her voice will always be clear and cold, like something steel. She will speak of horizons, and far places, and the red shores which men see in dreams. She will move silently, she will carry a razor between her breasts, she will savor the taste of blood, she will be followed always by cats, she will be less than human — and something more.
