That awkward moment when you have too many voices and too little hands. (The MC can hear you/Quest)

Oh, we can present appearances of ourselves, but we don't actually have mass. I just like having an appearance.
Yeah I've been trying to think on how to introduce my avatar, cause honestly I'm not that good with describing appearances, but either way I'll just try a pretend spar if i can't hit him physically cause he will need a fighting style of some kind.

actually quick question are there anything like vampires in your world blood suckers nocturnal dwellers any thing like that

Part 1.26
I wake up.

"Eh? Where am I?" I look at my surroundings and only find darkness.

"Oh, I am still dreaming."

But still, what was he talking about?

A voice, my voice, says that in my head, and I remember, I said that when I was talking with Archeo.

I jump and swing my arms frantically when I find him standing behind me without any warning.

"My appearing out of nowhere, it's going to be a thing until you stop reacting so amusingly to it."

"Oh, you brought this upon yourself," I said as I grabbed him and- and-

"...meep."

...I am grabbing him. Like, actual physical resistance and all. I can even feel the fur and everything.

Ah, so you can't talk to me in instantly? That explains some things. Still, you say that it was a joke, but only I can see or hear you.

"I suppose if we aren't simply figments of your imagination, them there's something about you in particular, such that only you can see or hear us."

"Are you going to do this every time you want to talk about anything?" I sigh in defeat.

"You know what? Fine, go ahead."

Well, that topic came out of nowhere. So, blood is important and the brain uses a 'nervous system', noted.

"Indeed, however, this didn't exactly come out of nowhere to me. How I percieve the world around you is in the form of 'scenes,' so to speak. Essentially, you do X amount of things, usually one part responding to us and one part interacting with the physical world in no particular order, and then we see all of that at once. I'm simply responding to what I know at the given moment, in the order that its given to me. Trying to hold these conversations with you is like communicating by courier, only you don't keep duplicates of your letters."

"Oh, really?"

"That is... actually pretty interesting. How are these 'scenes' like? Maybe I can help."

Ok, if you are so advanced, then how do you fight these things? All I know is that of you put some salves or salt in a wound you can prevent infection, a herbalist can make use of herbs to treat most of the things you mentioned and a priest can heal any illness with holy magic after the patient's soul has identified what is damaging him.

"Medicinal compounds, mostly. Over the course of centuries, we have classified hundreds, nay, thousands of diseases and generally know what substances can hinder them enough for our bodies to defeat them. Herbalists are actually on their way to modern medicine, although leeches and user of the four humours is considered quackery in this day and age. Salting wounds is a valid method of halting infection, although stitching a wound completely shut and bandaging it over, with sterile equipment, is generally the go-to if available. Certain ointments are used to treat fungal diseases, bacterial boils need to be carefully drained of the pus, cleaned, and kept from re-infecting, alongside a pill known as an antibiotic in extreme cases, other bacteria can be treated with just the pill. Viruses generally need to be waited out, and you need to maintain your health; eat fruits, drink lots of water, and get rest. When you have the runs, you need to stay hydrated, or complications could arise by the lack of water in your system, and for all of them; stay clean. Cleanliness is your greatest defense against disease. Magic is actually beyond us here."

"We already do the majority of the things you describe, even though I have never heard of something called 'a pill', or 'an antibiotic'. About drinking lots of water, people who do that tend to get sick and die. But I suppose that is not a problem if you boil the water, is it? ...I just realized I can revolutionize medicine with this."

"What does sterile mean?"

Eh, thanks?

"In regards to not dropping your money, that is."

"Oh, well, thanks then," I said as I patted Archeo on the head. I could hear him purring from the affection.

Well, you are saying it to me so you would need to explain to me how to write it, not how to say it... wait until I learn how to write, ok.

"... I'm sorry, I'm used to people seeing my name before hearing it, not the other way around. I'm any case, writing would be immensely useful indeed."

"No problem, how many people know how to read over there? In here I would say the only way a commoner can learn is becoming an adventurer."

I sit in a wooden chair. Yep, I can control my dream. Nice. Archeo jumps into my now available lap at this.

"You know, now that we don't have to worry about anyone hearing us, I want to tell you something."

"I am kind of a coward. I always have been. The only reason I am doing this adventure thing is because my father always told me stories of the places he saw when he traveled to war." I think of a mug of ale and it appears in my hand. Good.

"He always looked excited when telling me about that sort of thing, but when I got older I noticed that, well, I don't know. It was something like envy or sadness the way he told them." I take a sip of ale, it tastes like nothing, damn.

"...I made it my personal challenge, I was going to become what he always wanted to be. And once he disappeared, I felt like I owed him that much. The whole 'is the only way I can gain my life now' was just a cheap escuse."

I get up and look at him.

"I am telling you this because if you can see all I think, you would end up knowing that sooner or later."

And about the last part, isn't it a little too late now? Both I and Alax will be falling asleep at any moment.

"The issues of relying on a relay; what I see last can often be the first thing I need to respond to."

"Oh, I can you tell me more about how it works?"

...The sky isn't getting back to normal.

You, you can fix this, can't you?

"That's a mighty big cloud bank, I guess we should be expecting a storm in the morning, huh?"

"That wasn't any storm. There were shadows blocking the moons and only I saw them. I don't know what you did but you put them there."

Ok, a plan for what? And I'm sorry for saying this, but you haven't been all that helpful.

"Well, he hasn't, at least. I'm pretty sure I've been of help."

"Yeah, you are helping a little with medicine but the other cat, Vsh, taught me how muscles worked and told me to boil the water. You are the one who has talked the most, though." As I say that last part I pat his head again, this cat is pretty cheerful.

He, what?

"If you don't know how to make them yourself is what I was saying. You understood the intent without my input."

"I didn't understand what you were talking about at that moment and I don't know what you are talking about now. What is 'them'?"

"We are here." Said Alax as she dropped me on the ground. I looked to my left and saw the iron rings from the mail torn open. I will take note to never make Alax angry.

"I would express similar sentiments, but she doesn't know I exist."

"I could try to tell her, but I am pretty sure she would think I am crazy. How much control do you have over your 'bodies'?"

Then a shadow appeared next to him, I wonder which one is him?

'yea buddy im new to this as well just don't worry we all have your health as our main priority.'

Oh, it's the one that talks like if he is in the middle of a panic attack.

Good to know you are my friend, buddy.

I looked at my surroundings, it seems I can control this place however I want.

I look at Archeo and the shadows.

"So, what now?"

[ ] Sleep until morning.
[ ] Write in...

Edited with Archeo's help.

"Oh crap, ignore the colorful ones, and the one who's having a panic attack. At least for now. Meaningful responses incoming."

Hello Young Maurus it's nice to meet one like you. Now let's stop with the pleasantries and get down to business. While we could try to go on and on about our superior knowledge and technology randomly it just isn't pratical besides the very basics. This isn't a one way road our knowledge is vaster than anything you can imagine. We aren't the only ones that can ask questions so if you want to know something just ask.

I'll be watching.

Ever changing views... Of Entropy.

[OOC: I find this quest interesting. Well I guess I'm in]

[X] Sleep through the night, Interact with Archeo and other cooperating thoughtforms/spirits.
[X](Self) Pull forth memories as conversation goes on.
"I am telling you this because if you can see all I think, you would end up knowing that sooner or later."
I look at him soberly. "Thank you for telling me this, I'll be sure to be by your side for as long as I can, so you have someone to tell your tales to without regret."
"... Sparring practice? I do have a bipedal form I could work with for a bit, and as you've realized, there's physical resistance here."
[rightmost is me with only two feet] [if we're using weapons, Archeo will alternately use a Scythe or a myriad of chakrams in combat, but never both]
"Are you going to do this every time you want to talk about anything?" I sigh in defeat.
"If it means I can interact with you, yes. That and I can actually help you track our conversation threads in our 'canvas of interaction' this way. If you meant the surprise thing, not if I can pull you into a dreamscape like this."
"Oh, really?"

"That is... actually pretty interesting. How are these 'scenes' like? Maybe I can help."
"Probably not, this method is actually working pretty well for that issue, as in the evening I can converse with you, and I just need to manage the order of my statements so that things that need to be said immediately are. I pretty much described a scene above, but the scene ends either when you reach a major decision point, or you do something that necessitates a major change in mental state, such as when you went to sleep, or at the end of this last scene where you decided to basically do what we're doing now, you asked 'so now what?' and that was the end of the scene for us."
"Oh, I can you tell me more about how it works?"
"It's basically my issue with the scene, I get everything in order, but all at once."

"In order; a pill is a substance that enters your bloodstream through your digestive system, by means of a small, usually easy to swallow tablet, an antibiotic is a type of medicine specifically used against bacteria, that either kills it, or stops its growth in the first place, and sterile means that you're positive that it doesn't have germs, usually by treating it with high proof alcohol. Also, for your time period, yes you could. For ours, water boiling systems have become household in most developed nations, so this is nothing new for us."
"No problem, how many people know how to read over there? In here I would say the only way a commoner can learn is becoming an adventurer."
"On my end of things, reading and writing are fundamental skills, although some people write better than others even still. They are taught at an early age, and I was reading large books by the time I was six."
[OoC] [/OoC]
"That wasn't any storm. There were shadows blocking the moons and only I saw them. I don't know what you did but you put them there."
Wait, I did that? If I did, it was only supposed to last for a moment or two, I guess I need to lay off the puns.
"Yeah, you are helping a little with medicine but the other cat, Vsh, taught me how muscles worked and told me to boil the water. You are the one who has talked the most, though." As I say that last part I pat his head again, this cat is pretty cheerful.
"Thanks! That cheer is sort of my shtick, along with the medicine. Also, do note that I'm the one that taught you why boiling water is important."
"I didn't understand what you were talking about at that moment and I don't know what you are talking about now. What is 'them'?"
"'Them' being the metal balls, in this case. Shot, as we call it."
"I could try to tell her, but I am pretty sure she would think I am crazy. How much control do you have over your 'bodies'?"
"Basically, my body looks how I want it to, at the limitation of my ability to describe it with words or imagery. I describe myself with words alone when it comes to my quadrupedal state, so what you see is mostly you filling in the gaps I left. My bipedal form on the other hand is far more structured, as you can probably tell."

[X](Self) In case Juan sais he wants to spar with me, spar with him.

Appears in front of Maurus once Arc finished speaking to him.

"So your my new master huh?"

Looks over Maurus a few times as if checking to see if he' a prize.

"Yes you'll do, but I'll need to train you up a bit incase the enemy gets close for CQC or you lose your weapons."

Gets into a fighting stance in front of Maurus and Arc as I bring my claws up.

"Oh almost forgot, you may call me either Shadow, or Killer."

OOC:The reason /i didn't say Fulgore is that I don't want any trouble with lawyers P.s Can anyone help be a beta cause I do have a bit of trouble with my typing some times

Edit: I'm so sorry about that, and thank for the heads up

So, I don't feel like writing this quest today or tomorrow and I won't be able to continue it for a whole week.
So as compensation I am going to drop some advice.

Shadow-86, believe it or not, after doing some research about Fulgore, I concluded that your avatar would be on par with an iron golem of the same size.

Also, if you don't write something like: '[X](Self) In case Juan sais he wants to spar with me, spar with him.' your character is just going to stand in a fighting stance as Juan attacks it again and again.

Archeo, the same as above.

Chalice... keep it up, bro.

I will try to answer any question you may have.

[X] (Self) Actually spar with Juan if he asks. Don't be afraid to banter.

IC: I materialize off to the side of the group, and sigh. I look like a Mannequin in a Dress Blue Alpha Marine Corps Uniform, and I have a M9 Berreta and ceremonial sword on my side.

"I really shouldn't have these two, not with my rank, but its a dream I suppose...Come Jaun, let me teach you the song of my people." I draw the Pistol, and aim at @Shadow-86.

"Now don't worry, I know for a fact that this should bounce right off him."

"Loading rubber bullets, or just banking on immunity? In any case, I think the sword would actually be the more appropriate weapon to teach Juan, firearms haven't been invented yet."

"Both actually, a rubber bullet can kill a man if you aren't careful...besides, with that armor he has he should be fine." I gesture at the sword.

"This is ceremonial, useless in combat unless you modify it. I suppose I could, but that would ruin the tradition." I draw it, and show it to Archeo.

"I also intend on teaching Jaun how to make and use firearms. Unless Jaun gets some sort of magical replacement arm, distance combat is the key to his survival, and he won't always have time to use a sling."

"Now who said you're actually fighting with it? Unless the balance is completely awful, it should be fine for a spar. Now, teaching him how to make firearms? Do you realize how difficult that would be with one arm? I'd rather he sticks with the sling and just asked one of the Orchestra members to help him reload."

"Ok, listen. You're the cat, I'm the warrior. I think I know the quality of my own weapon and what it can take, thank you very much. I know for a fact that it won't hold up for any decent sparing match...

You train as you fight! There is no difference in the amount of force used, only the targets and timing. If you don't believe me, take the sword and go ahead and spar. It will snap within a few swings if you are not coddling Jaun." I sheath the sword, and gesture to my pistol.

"As for making a firearm, all smithing can be done with one arm with the right tools.

So what if it's difficult? It's better to face difficulty at the Forge than it is to face the difficulty of the battlefield...beside, Orchestra is not always going to be there."
