How will the empire react to us having Fenrir. I mean I beet hookwolf will try and challenge us to a fight or something or maybe Fenrir himself would try and fight him.

Holy shit we have Cú! Ok, the mythological Gae Bulg isnt as broken as it's Fate counterpart, but it's still an amazingly deadly weapon. We need something like that in case of emergencies.

I'm okay leaving the Empire alone for now. Their numbers are mostly intact and they even got reinforcements from the Gasselcraft (or however you write that) so attacking them right now, with our fewer numbers, would be a really bad idea. I want to stabilize the places we already liberated (like the docks) while we build up our power for an eventual Empire confrontation. I'm all for supporting the Protectorate against the Empire, though.

Gotta say, I'm kinda curious what Mr. Hound of Ulster will say if we ask him for his legendary spear.
(Considering Hades couldn't pull out his Helm of Darkness, I don't have high hopes, but it'll be interesting to see what he offers otherwise.)

Its written "Gesellschaft" and it means "Society" in English.

Also I don't have anything against being a bit more passive. We should make sure our territory is clear and safe before doing something against the Empire. We went with the territory plan so we will have to play it that way. A teritoryless group could have focused purely on offense but that isn't the case here anymore.

Your patrol with Cu and Fenrir starts off quietly, as all your patrols do. You're wandering about the docks as the afternoon transitions into evening. Aranea is choosing to remain silent, though you think that it might be because she's on the lookout for danger with her bugs. You're not really sure how much she's capable of paying attention to by herself. Reasonably, her brain shouldn't be able to manage handling all those bugs just like your brain shouldn't be able to handle two human-like minds pouring information into it. Powers are weird.

1d100 = 12

Your musings are unfortunately cut off by your phone pinging several times. You open it up.

Several reports of E88 members rioting. No capes sighted. Police en-route. Assistance Requested.

The four of you are about to head off in the direction that the message indicates when Aranea stops you.

"There are a lot more people coming from that direction," She points north, toward the Trainyard. "My bugs can feel bats and crowbars.

You suddenly wish that one of your gods for today could give you a birds-eye view of what's going on with those people, but they're both grounded. It doesn't take a genius to figure out who they are and what they're here for though. The only functional gang left in the city that can field this much manpower is the E88.

Are they reacting to your increasingly frequent patrols in the area? No, despite your large impact on the cape scene, you can't think of everything in terms of yourself. It doesn't really matter to Kaiser who's patrolling this area. He probably doesn't even care if a large number of these people get caught. Your best guess is that his goal is to send a message to the people living here, a message that they aren't safe, that the heroes can't protect them.

Now you just need to prevent that very thing from happening. You need to protect everyone in the docks. It's easier said than done. Judging by Aranea's reaction, there are probably seventy or eighty gang members heading your way right now. You have no doubt similar scenes are playing out across the docks. The thugs themselves provide next to no threat to you or Aranea, but there are so many of them that you physically cannot be everywhere you're needed.

You think about your next steps. Your range is much larger than Aranea's which means that you can cover a lot more ground than her. You can have her wait here and ambush the coming thugs since out of everyone, she's the least mobile. Fenrir and Cu aren't great for crowd control. They don't have much in the way of wide-area effects, and their normal attacks are far too lethal to use on non-brutes. Still, they're strong enough to wade into a crowd of armed thugs and come out on top. If you push them to the edge of your range, you can probably cover an entirely separate riot area than either of your gods. That won't cover everything, but you can call up Kayden, who will likely be able to arrive quickly, and you can prioritize the riots farther away from the police station.

You start your Saturday patrol much warier than you did the last one. After the fiasco that was yesterday, you feel that you're justified in being just a bit more on-edge. At least you have both Aranea and Rainbow with you today, so if anything goes down you can count on your whole team being here from the get-go.

1d100 = 78

While you don't come across any crimes, you, or rather Taylor, makes an interesting discovery.

"You're sure?" Rainbow asks.

"Positive, all of the buildings I marked are full of guns and other weapons like batons and knives. We've already made two passes, how much more confirmation do you need?"

"I'm just trying to make sure we don't go after anyone innocent."

"I'm sure there are tons of innocent people with storehouses full of guns and knives."

"Now, now, you're both right," you step in and try to defuse the situation, "Taylor, it's important to confirm things before starting a fight. Failure to do so has earned Glory Girl some unflattering nicknames. Conversely, Kayden, once we're sure, there's no need to check again. That's just putting things off and wasting time.

They hmph at each other but seemingly accept your argument. At least, they stop bickering with each other.

"No one likes a compromise," Apollo informs you sagely.

"I know," you say, before Ares can but in with something about Trial by Combat, probably. "Regardless of that, now that we're sure these are weapons stashes, we can make a plan of attack for them. They're close enough to the docks that the Empire can probably use them like staging grounds or something similar to initiate things like yesterday's riots."

"So how do we go about it?" Taylor asks.

"Simple…"

[][Stashes] Attack them in order, as a statement
[][Stashes] Split up, each of you takes down one. You're more than strong enough to handle a few rooms worth of mooks each.
[][Stashes] Wait. Perhaps you can use these stashes to track down other Empire resources.
[][Stashes] Write-in.

just to be clear with our battle tactics being higher we can assume a better attack plan is made even if we pick relatively simple choices right? The skill turns our combat choices into more thought out strategies even if we dont elaborate them as much?

[X][Riots Aranea] Have Aranea lie in wait to ambush the coming thugs

[X][Riots You] While the gods are your main method of attack and defense they are far from your only options. Have your gods split up to cover more ground but also go fight some of the rioting E88 thugs personally.
-[X] Stick to hit and run tactics if you can, focusing on stabbing and slashing the thugs with your Paralysis Dagger, webbing them up, or using concussive blasts with your Shadow Magic. Use the Lightning Pendant as needed to enter combat or to escape it.
-[X] If a prolong battle is required, primarily use your Sword of the Water Dragon and unarmed attacks to get the better of your opponents. Remember, your armor can take quite a beating and you drank some blood they'll be dealing with what is basically a Brute, use that to your advantage. Intersperse your attacks with webs and magic as needed.

[X][Riots Kayden] Call Kayden to try and figure out where they're coming from

[X][Stashes] Split up, each of you takes down one. You're more than strong enough to handle a few rooms worth of mooks each.

-[X] If possible, drink some blood as soon as you can to gain the strength, durability, and regeneration the Vampire Bat Fangs provides. The best possible source would be from one of the thugs.

in prolonged combat against non brutes our webs are much better than the sword, as they have repeatedly been stated to be a fight ender for non brutes and even most brutes

Oh, do we still have some left over? Monk never really touches upon it.

@Monk Penguin Just to clarify, is this true? I'll edit my vote appropriately if it is.

We are trained in swordsmanship we might as well use it.

[X][Stashes] Pantheon will attack 2 stashes at the same time with his gods, one god going to each one. Taylor and Kayden will attack a 3rd one together. Then we regroup and attack the remaining 2.

Yes, you've got a thing going with Rodolfo where he buys you animal blood "for cooking" which you drink with your fangs. You almost never drink more than one bag a day.
