Shed Skin - A Naruto Time Travel Quest

"Fortunately that will not occur." You say lightly. "Hanzo's replacement is far more powerful than the man himself, to say nothing of his allies."

"Give me the information." The Nara rubs his forehead.

"The man known only as Pain has a functioning set of rinnegan eyes, the legendary doujutsu of the Sage of Six Paths. He's taken in powerful missing ninja from across the Elemental Nations, including Sasori of the Red Sands, an . . . unidentified shinobi with space-time ninjutsu, and an exploding tag specialist."
Now that he is aware of their existence, what does Shikaku Nara intend to do about Akatsuki?

Is any of these paths more likely than any other to lead to a bad end? Like it causes more trouble?

Are there any vague and questionably useful hints as to what the other time travelers are doing at the moment?

I am fully aware that you could answer this with a "yes" and then move on to the next question :V

Which combination of arguments, if any, would have resulted in Tsunade coming back with us to Konoha?

Which of the four paths given to get Tsunade back is most likely to succeed?

Yes, I know this is going to get skipped over, but someone's going to ask it, and I'm drawing a blank on other questions.

How possessive is Orochimaru towards Tsunade?

I remember some of his internal dialogue which sounded seriously like a guy getting dumped and reacting poorly to it. Very poorly. Yuno Gasai getting rejected poorly.

How do we get Sage Mode without going to the White Snake Cave or otherwise seeking the aid of the snakes?
Presumably we can attempt to channel nature chakra and create sage chakra like Tsunade started to right before we got drunk. But Tsunade, who has pretty much the best chakra control period, was having trouble regulating it. It is very much more easier with Summon Animals there to help guide the energy.
We were also told that we would survive the White Snake Sage's bite, and that there is no appreciable difference between learning through his bite, or trying to meditate except for time and I suppose 'flavour' of the technique.

Did Orochimaru know any of the other time travelers before he came to the past?

I think this one might have been asked, but I don't remember if it did.

....I'm not TPK, but I'd say that's an easy yes.

I mean, who's there who Orochimaru doesn't know about who fits the TT requirements? (not a question for TPK) Even at their most low-key Tenten is someone he has seen in person.

Q&A 4
@TPK - if we dropped everything and went after Sage Mode, how quickly could we get it, and how quickly would it take to master?
It could take you as little as a few minutes to gain Sage Mode.

Would it be possible to use knowledge gained from studying the hero water to improve the cursed seal?
Pass.

Now that he is aware of their existence, what does Shikaku Nara intend to do about Akatsuki?
Tell the Hokage and let him decide the village's direction in international relations.

Is any of these paths more likely than any other to lead to a bad end? Like it causes more trouble?
Yes.

How likely are we to be able to get Tsunade back?
Pass.

Pass.

So, a QnA session 4.

The one on SM seems a bit like a mean joke. Gaining SM is nice and all, but I'm getting flashbacks to that one spar with Kushina. Sage for a moment, statue for life. We'd be a great statue, but I'd rather be some other great thing, first. Dat white snake powah tho... *a thousand sighs*

A yes or no question, the answer is rather predictable.

On arguments to get Tsunade back, we have TPK's word that
While I don't confirm or deny things like this as a matter of policy (it can decrease debate and discussion) I can say that I do not like fake votes, where the winning option doesn't really matter.
which is probably as much info as we'll ever recieve on the subject.

And the Nara is fucking lazy.

On passed stuff, I really liked the "hero water - cursed seals" interaction question, bit of a shame that one got deflected. I guess if we knew the answer we might avoid that particular research direction, and we can't have that :V

"The root of the problem lies in confidence, I think. Traitors do not truly believe that you can do what you say you will. They think you lack conviction, or power, in most cases. There are some where they act from logic rather than emotion, but I can't see Tsunade doing that. I know her fairly well, for a grandparent. I knew her, anyway. Tsunade leads with her heart, and you must win her heart to win her back."

We went through all this trouble to resurrect the first Hokage, so let's follow his advice. We need to make an emotional appeal.

[x] Sincerity. Hashirama won Madara over by offering his own life, if it would buy peace between them.
