From the sound of cannon fire in the distance, it seems like the fighting is started.

"Hey, L'Audacieux, how close do you think we should get to their base before we start shelling them? I figure that's a good way to get their attention."

Australia smiles as she walks over to you, tucking her pencil back into her skirt.

She's already flipping through pages before she even sits down, and continues to do so for a short while afterwards. She's moving too quickly for you to get a good look at any of the pages; however, quite a few of the ones you manage to get a glance at look suspiciously like porn. She eventually stops on a page depicting you in several different poses. Each drawing shows off some design or tattoo, some in color, and others with notes listing possible shades.

The Ri-class hands you the sketchbook, "I drew most of these months ago, so they're not my best work. Also, there's more on the next two pages," Australia pauses and fixes you with a bright smile, "So, do you see anything you like?"

The seasoned battleship looks through the two pages, intrigued by the creative output of the cruiser. They do look well-drawn, of various kinds of ships, though some are, indeed, rather risqué in appearance and posture. If these are regular ones, then what do her best works look like?

"I choose... this one," she says. The drawing she points to is a serene picture of herself meditating, the imagery of nature about her, the skies above and the seas below. It shows a more tranquil side, that not everything about her is a blaze of fury and violence.

Iwo Jima checks her watch. "Time to go to work." She could have potentially waited to start launching planes until Impero and Bismarck had started shelling anti-aircraft guns, but she was getting bored. Besides, she'd heard Impero and Bismarck's secondaries firing, so arguably this counted.

She also figured that as soon as Diego Garcia's radar went active, finding the carrier launching strike fighters would be a major imperative. Sinking them would also be important.

She turns to Drexler, even as her strike planes begin moving on the deck to be launched. "Drexler, go active on sonar, and fire up your radar."

Jima's rifle rises, and a rapid sequence of shots sends her planes skywards.

Drexler

Drexler nearly faceplants as she hears the order. Her heart pounds in her chest as she scrambles to get her detection systems online.

"O—on it!"

@Firebird Zoom

Nothing shows up on Drexler's radar. However, Juneau notices the buzz of unfamiliar engines from behind her.

@lelenoi

She had a minute before they flew, a single minute. Bismarck chuckled lightly.

"A minute is all I need!" Bismarck yells, a wide grin splattered on her face. "Beginnen wir unsere kleine party in der Hölle." she targeted the airfield and especially the area where the planes are clustered and then fired with her 38cm SK C/34 and 15cm SK C/28. In total,l she has 20 guns pointing at the airfield and raining hell on them. Even if some planes managed to get off somehow, she could still use her massive AA weaponry; she has sixteen of 10.5 Flak 38 which are the heaviest AA guns she has then sixteen 3.7cm SK C/30 and twelve 2cm Flak 38.

Bismarck would rather die in shame than let anyone of them escape.

Five of the jets are destroyed or grounded before they can take off. However, one manages to get into the air and quickly leaves your range.

'Cazzo!' Impero mentally spits. 'I did not think this through. Story of the goddamn battle, really...'

A mental sigh, and Impero turns north, hoping but not really expecting to stumble upon Iwo Jima and her task force.

You have no idea what your bearing is, so you just pick a direction that you think is north, and go in a straight line. When you don't encounter anyone for two hours, the thought crosses your mind that you should maybe stop and wait for someone to find you.

Audacieux quirks an eyebrow. "Are you sure, Grom? There are bound to be other ways that play to our strengths better."

Australia beams at you. "I actually just made that one a few hours ago. You weren't the most varied of subjects, but you certainly were the most serene Abyssal I've had the pleasure of drawing."

She looks like she is going to say more when what sounds like shellfire could be heard. Intrigued, Australia runs to the door and begins screaming through the bars, obviously trying to get someone's attention. She did leave her sketchbook in your hands, though.

Bismarck's smirk dropped as she saw that one goddamn plane escaped. She put on her radio to talk to all the Abyssal fleet.

"Alright, girls, listen up! One aircraft escaped my suppression fire. You'll say that one can't do much but this one got pretty dangerous weaponry. When it hits your range, pour down on it all of your AA firepower. No exceptions. I want that plane down or I'll feast on your corpses tonight." ordered Bismarck. She could give instructions when she wanted to, Impero surely would be impressed. While she did destroy the airfield and no more plane can take off from the base. She's gonna make them regret letting even one plane escape her. She might have been satisfied with just the airfield but now when they put up resistance... She gotta put them down even harder.

"Ich werde dich zu tode bringen!" Bismarck yelled out on open all radio channels and so they must have heard it perhaps even the other Abyssals but she didn't really care. Bismarck will erase this base from the map but she will focus on the administrative buildings and central command.

Jima looks in the direction of Diego Garcia. Her own radar starts up, and she begins attempting to vector some of her fighters to hopefully intercept them. She can't see it on radar yet, but hopefully her planes can take it out before it reaches the AA envelope of herself, Drexler, or Juneau. The rest of her planes continue towards Diego Garcia.

Bismarck nearly smacked her head when she heard the radio responses. She forgot to mention where the plane was and where it was heading.

"No, it wouldn't be that one. The aircraft I am talking about is heading further south for some reason. When it enters your range, make it so that it goes down. I don't know about that second plane you're talking about Juneau but if I were you, I'll be careful. It could have the same weaponry. There are no nearby bases apart from this one, it might be reinforcements. A scout from a carrier." explained Bismarck calmly as she continued on her rampage.

Partway through your message, loud static bursts through your comms, nearly deafening you and drowning out the rest of your message.

@lelenoi @Sketchy Lurker @Spectre @Ash19256 @Ethernet_Cable

You only manage to hear Bismark's negation of Juneau's claim before your ears are filled with static.

Jima snarls. Along her rigging, a number of signaling lamps swivel into position.

<~"All stations, switch to signal lamps. Hostile radio jamming is in effect."~>

<~"There has to be from one of the aircraft near us. I would have seen something on my radar if it was a ship."~> Helena replied with her own signal lamps. <~"We need to hunt that thing down if want any chance of this attack working."~>

Jima nods. <~"Agreed."~>

Even as her radar begins sweeping the skies for any aircraft capable of producing such an effect, Jima begins 'listening' for radio frequencies uneffected by the jamming they were undergoing.

She didn't expect to hear any discernible human communications, but if she did, that would be a nice bonus.

Without her command center, Impero has no way to vocalize and no way to really send and receive anything other than short-range ship-to-ship radio. So there's no way for anyone to hear her when her inner monologue skips right past swearwords and straight into inarticulate sounds of intense rage.

She does come to a stop, though.
