Sol System

The Armada had finally arrived, the long-sought destination of the habitable world. Orders began to pass across the void. Greeting protocols, broadcasted via a strange semi-organic circuitry that allowed mind-to-mind communication across several lightyears, washed over the Sol System (completely undetectable to the natives of the third sphere, their knowledge of the soul was nearly non-existent) and allowed the scattered ships to organize and consolidate. They had come from the general galactic north-east and had drifted apart over the centuries as the need to conserve fuel, and the complete necessity for secrecy demanded that interstellar journeys be made with a minimal of course changes and that the ships themselves were to be using the least amount of power and sacrifices possible.

Now they were nearly regrouped and stood ready for the Priest-Scientist Caste to commune with the Gods and determine the course ahead. The habitable third sphere circled its star in ignorance.

The Disciples of the Seven Shadows & the Yggoth'ia:

The tale of the People is one of ignorance, enlightenment, imperium, and catastrophe. Spawned from a world far core-ward into the galaxy the People crawled upon the home-sphere in swarms. Then the Caste System was spun differently, and far more wildly as the People's understanding of the soul and flesh was weak. This was due in part to the fact that the People stood apart in separate enclaves each ruled by an Overlord, a now extinct Caste, and only contacted each other to breed, and wage war. Then the home-sphere was altered in a fundamental way, hidden within the sands of an endless desert, the Uplink was discovered, a holy relic of the Gods. With the discovery and activation of the Uplink by a now lost Strain, the knowledge of the Uplink began to slowly spread across the home-sphere. The wars came next, they were not the raiding and grudge wars of the past, no, each was glorious adoration of the Gods, sweeping those unbelievers from the enclaves, whole strains wiped out in an orgy of piety and supplication. Tsoggaa the Indolent, Yau-Yithon the Lady of Sapphire, Sug Sogorath the Black Beast of the Void, and the greatest Azog the Dread Sultan, all smiled upon the Great Work, and soon the People were united in worship of the lore of the soul and the Gods. From there our Imperium was established, on the home-sphere, then across our system, then our cluster, and then beyond. Mighty we swarmed across the stars, cutting the void, and bringing the destructive word of our Gods to the far distant spheres. The Imperium grew fat on the corpses of such spheres, and the slaves and wealth they gathered, the High Imperator reigned for Seasons upon Seasons and the Imperium began to grow corrupt. The wealth of a hundred thousand spheres was wasted, heretical cults worshiping any of the multitudes of lesser gods preached openly across the home-sphere and the core sectors.

Only the Priest-Scientist foresaw the disaster looming, but their warnings were spurned by the final High Imperator who would not give up the authority vested in the position. So the Priest-Scientist plotted and conspired in the Seven Shadows of the Great Palace that stretched across the central continent of the home-sphere, and began construction across multiple key worlds of the Motherships, each dedicated to Sug Sogorath to ensure the best chance for survival and breeding. Then, a single Season later, as Azog consumed the home-sphere, the core sectors, and the cluster, the Priest-Scientist launched the Motherships and their attendant Armadas. The People were scattered, and remain so even now after uncountable Seasons. As every Armada was forced to survive on their own, separated by the gulf of the void, and split by the fury of Azog.

Now the Disciples of the Seven Shadows have arrived in another system, with another sphere in need of enlightenment, and the People were in need of a new world to rest for a time before the Retribution sent them back into the void once more.

The Nation-States of Earth:

Following the devastation of the early 20th century, in which mankind waged no less than two world wars and a plethora of smaller conflicts, Humanity found itself locked in a deadly ideological struggle waged by two Super Powers. Nations of such wealth, technology, and military force that they made the Great Powers of the past age seem pale by comparison. With slumbering payloads of death ready to scorch the Earth clean of its native sons, the Cold War was in full force. It seemed the babe was to die in the cradle.

Then early in 1983 astronomers detected something strange approaching the edge of the solar system. At first, thought to be a rogue asteroid coming from deep space, this notion was quickly dispelled as the object adjusted course and speed. Then more arrived, and there was no denying it. Humanity was not alone among the stars, across the globe phone calls were made, meetings held, and world leaders spoke behind closed doors. In the end, the world governments could not agree on a single course of action so early into the event, beyond that of keeping the arrival of the alien vessels a secret, how long that secrecy would last depended heavily upon the actions of the new visitors...

Hello, this isn't a traditional GSRP like you may be familiar with, this is instead a roleplay heavy hex and counter wargame. The game follows a first contact scenario between Humanity and "The People" an alien race of refugees bent on transforming the Sol System to their liking. Each faction is broken down into a team, who together will determine their Factions actions for the turn.

Playable Factions:

The People
- 3 Player Team

Escort Squadrons - The smallest warship available within the Armada, Escorts commonly move together in tight formation. Crafted from the sorcery-science of the People, an escort if made of fused bone and armor plates, bristling with weaponry both esoteric and physical, lined with hexogramic wards and particle nodule webs, and utilizing a anti-matter engine dripping with fluids secreting from pustules, and throbbing with a bio-mechanical pulse.

Novaship - While the Escorts are fairly common among the scattered Armadas, the Novaships are very rare, with few surviving the harsh journey between the stars, and being too costly to build in transit, they are rarely seen outside of a well-established enclave.
(Bombardment Capable)

Quasarship - True warships, of Imperium design, these juggernauts of the stars are nearly equal to a Mothership in size, but instead of the extensive production and spawning facilities of the Mothership, the Quasarship is all weaponry and defenses. Batteries of plasma-pulse cannons enhanced with constant ritual support line the fleshy, wrinkled hull.
(Bombardment Capable)
(Limited Total: 1)

Mothership - A vast engine of rolling flesh, flickering wards, and pulsing machinery. It dwarfs all the attendant vessels but the Quasarship a hundredfold. Everything needed to establish an enclave in this system is held within this alter to the Gods. These are the fortresses from which the Priest-Scientist Caste rule.
(Asteroid Bombardment with 2 Motherships)
(Limited Production Capabilities)

Lander - Not designed for interstellar travel, the Landers are large vessels normally used to transport prefabricated facilities or crawler war machines across a sphere. Equipped with sophisticated stealth technology, and given light armaments, these transports are a vital link in the logistics chain.
(Capacity: 3)

Crawler - A massive war machine that dwarfs most cities, the Crawler is crewed by only a few dozen Worker Caste, protected by a Cluster of Warrior Caste, and commanded by a small council of Priest-Scientist Caste.
(Warrior Caste Cluster: 1)

Atmosphere Converter - A small, but highly effective facility, it will turn the third spheres atmosphere a more comfortable sulfur dioxide, suitable for widespread spawning and habitation. Equipped with stealth technology and protected by the Warrior Caste.
(Atmosphere Conversion: 1)
(Warrior Caste Cluster: 1)

Base - A base is mainly divided between production facilities and habitation sectors. Equipped with stealth technology and protected by a large number of Warrior Caste.
(Production Capabilities)
(Warrior Caste Cluster: 2)

The United States of America - 4 Player Team

The Soviet Union - 4 Player Team

NATO - 3 Player Team

Warsaw Pact - 3 Player Team

The Peoples Republic of China - 3 Player Team

The State of Japan - 3 Player Team

Minor Factions (Possible Playable):

India
- 1 Player

Israel/Egypt - 1 Player

Suadi Arabia/Iraq/Iran - 1 Player

Armies - Each army represents 300,000 to 600,000 soldiers, along with armored vehicles, and fighter aircraft.
(Ranged Air Attack)

Militias - Each militia represents 600,000 to 1,000,000 soldiers, they often have little armor support and no aircraft.

Surface Fleet - Fleets of naval warships, and transports that can be used for combat in ocean, or coastal hexes, as well as transporting Armies or other land units.
(Capacity: 1 Army)

Submarine Squadron - Stealthed units that can be used for combat in ocean, or coastal hexes.

Nuclear Submarine Squadron - Much like Submarine units, but with nuclear launch capability.
(Nuclear Weapons)

ICBM Silos - Hardened launch sites for long-range missiles armed with nuclear warheads.
(Nuclear Weapons)

Intercontinental Bombers - Fleets of long-ranged bomber aircraft carrying nuclear payloads.
(Nuclear Weapons)

Shuttle Launch Facilities - Special base that can launch a Human spacecraft.
(Orbital)

I'm interested in playing an alien, particularly Azog the Dread Sultan.

Azog is a God that the People worship. You are approved for the alien team.

Your victory condition is the full conversion of Earths atmosphere to sulfur dioxide. This is accomplished once the atmospheric tracker reaches 20.

You can achieve a partial victory by forcing a truce with all the Earth Factions on your terms.
