Pure fox origins

There's no English translation but the basic story is that 玄妻's (Hyun's Wife who is Junko) son was killed by Houyi. Houyi then took 玄妻 as a concubine. 玄妻 plotted revenge and got help from another guy, the two of them killed Houyi.

The Houyi I'm talking about is the one who is the husband of Chang'e who went mad after she left for the moon. But there is another Houyi in the myths of the Xian Dynstaty. Zun took some artist liberties and combined the two. If anyone reads the legend of Houyi you would know that he shot down a bunch of suns. These suns were pretty much her entire family except for her son.

In short, everyone she cared for was killed and then later her son was murdered in-front of her. Then that murder turned her into a his mistress against her will. This is pretty much all of Chang'e fualt due to her antics with Hourai Elixir. (Chang'e and Kaguya are actually two different people in the touhou verse)

After the death of Houyi she turned her eternal rage towards the Lunarians who hold Chang'e among there capital. Now Junko has the special ability of Perfect Purification. And by the time she reached the moon she became the God of Hatred towards the Lunarians from how much she hated them. To hone this hate even more she purified herself of every single quality except for that hatred she felt for the Lunarians.

So its difficult to call her human or even a deity anymore. She has pretty much has become a physically force of nature with one singular goal.

Zun mixed two legends of Houyi together. So it's a bit different.

Heck I'm unsure if is part of Xihe or not. A lot of facts are saying that Junko is actually a Huli jing that gained then lost all her tails over 1800 years. When that happens to a fox they reach some sort of enlightened state. In case of Junko, she reached the enlightenment of pure hatred.

Sorry for the derail. I get really eager talking about this kind of stuff.

Remember the movie dark knight? When twoface flips a coin to see if the joker lives or not. He says "Your not really the culprit, your just a mad dog without a leash" or something along those line. Junko has that mindset going for her. Houyi carried out the crimes, but Junko believes the fault lies in Chang'e as she set into motion everything that has gone wrong.

So she blames Chang'e for leaving her husband which drove him mad, leading to him killing most of her family and later her son?

Seems pretty disproportionate considering Chang'e's minor role in the whole thing if I'm understanding this right.

    • Alright here is my new sheet @Mortifer . Sorry for changing suddenly. I just really like her character and would love to play her. This Junko will regain her sanity for the start of the game. So she won't smite things at a pin drop. But I also think it would be fun playing someone who leans towards the evil side of the alignment chart. Also the interaction with other players should be interesting. Especially if Arcueid gets in.

    The Goddess of Purification: Despite being molded by her hate. Junko is able to purify objects into a purer form or base form. Like turning a iron sword into a lump of metal. And many things along this line. For magical objects it takes a lot more effort. Objects that are considered noble phantasms are nearly impossible. This purification also feeds into her magic. If her magic kills a living being then there soul is wiped from existence and unable to reach the root. What is considered to be a truly purified object is something that has lost it's concept of life & death and it's very being.

    Magic: While not being a dedicated magician. Her eighteen hundred years as a Huli jing as granted her incredible skills in illusion magic and spiritual magic. Her preferred type of magic in combat is simple and non extravagant spells. As there designed for one singular purpose, to annihilate her foes. Backed up with her power of purification, these spells can be extremely deadly. All of her magic has this white ethereal glow that has unnatural effects upon there surroundings when used.

    Demon Pacts & Fay Communication: Junko is able to summon and command lesser demons to do her bidding with ease. For major demons it takes a lot more effort. She is also very skilled at interacting with the fay and rarely falls for there tricks and magic.

    Lunar Hatred: Junko's hatred for Lunar beings is legendary. Whenever the god encounters beings with ties to lunar origins or magic. Her magical prowess rapidly increases and her reasoning deteriorates. She will seek to eliminate her target in anyway possible.

    The loss of self: While Junko will have her old emotions back. It's still possible for her to wipe these from herself. When done so she became far more powerful. But she loses most of her reasoning and it's impossible for her to get back her emotions.

    Divinity: Junko is a deity of Purification and the hatred for the Lunarian people. Anything that interacts with specifically divine beings will also work on her.

    What drove her to make a Pact?A childish innocence , she didn't really expect the life she would be getting into as a magical girl. She just knew it would be a chance to explore the world and try all kinds of new meals! And maybe make some friends, as well!

    What is her wish? To try every meal in the world!

    Her Magical Element? Gourmand! The ability to cook and eat any meal with her magic! She'll become the world's greatest chef, just like her hero, Gouda!

    Her Magical Weapon? An invincible magical frying pan!

    Her Magical Power? The ability to turn her body into jello and manipulate it, since it's her favorite food!

    Her goal is to master the art of cooking, no matter the time and place, and become a chef that her Teacher can be proud of!

    Depends on how far apart of each other you land.

    Also on whether or not rumours start spreading about a vigilante who deals out her own brand of justice on the Kingdom of Britain, going by the awe-inspiring name of Phantasmoon.

    Might speed up the proccess if Junko hears about it.
