Personality and Life Philosophy: At first Mami seems every inch the cool senpai--calm, heroic, and capable of
explosive awesomeness. However in truth, she is desperately lonely and her foremost desire is for a friend. She has a strong sense of justice, and is actually fairly emotionally fragile. She is helpful, sisterly, and appears to be a bit feminine.
Backstory: Her parents died in a car crash, and she contracted with Kyubey to save herself. At one point, she was Kyoko's mentor, but after the death of Kyoko's family, the other girl cut her off. Now she currently lives in Mitakihara City, protecting it from the witches and hoping for friends, ones that know her secret and that she has time for.
Abilities:
-Transformation
Mami can transform into her magical girl costume at any time.
-Soul Gem
Unknownst to her, Mami's soul is in fact contained within a beautiful gem, which when transformed is a flower-shaped hair pin on the right side of her head, and untransformed can be shaped either as an egg or ring. If the soul gem is destroyed, Mami will die--but if it is not, with enough magic and time at her disposal, she can potentially regenerate from anything. Using magic or feeling negative emotions fills her soul with corruption. If fully corrupted, the gem will break and Mami will turn into a witch. If it is more than 100 meters away from her, the connection between her body and soul will break and she will effectively become a corpse until the soul gem comes back into contact with her body.
-Ribbons
Mami's magic is capable of creating ribbons, which can be used as binding strings, to create a decoy copy of herself, or to create muskets, her primary weapon. She appears to be able to regenerate them if destroyed so long as she is aware of it.
-Muskets
Also her ribbons, solidified into muskets. She can make any gun she wants with them, so long she understands the basics of how the gun works, having studied earlier into her career as to how to create them. She is also able to make pistols. She can create Trio Finale, her finisher and an extremely large gun. She can change the type of ammunition to gun fires, from exploding bullets to smoke screen ones.
-Healing
Mami can heal others using her magic. She is nowhere as good as a specialized healing magical girl, but the skill is still there.
-Enchantment
She can enchant objects to improve their properties.
