In a certain dimension—a certain Gamindustri—your favorite CPUs Noire, Blanc, Vert, Neptune, and all their friends are just normal human girls trying to make it through high school life.

At least, until monsters and magical girls start popping up everywhere and wreaking havoc, that is! All in order for the magical girls to gather enough Shares and have their most fervent desire granted...

Join Noire as she tries to juggle the responsibilities of surviving high school, looking after her little sister Uni, and fighting for her life as the magical girl "Black Heart"!

You are Black Heart, Crystal Prestige User of Onyx Regality, and while everyone else sleeps soundly at night, you fight alone against three other "Magical Girls" in an ongoing conflict you've been calling the Crystal War. With every Share you obtain, you get stronger and your prize gets ever closer: phenomenal magical power at your fingertips and the granting of whatever your heart desires.

But you are also Noire, high school student, member of the Fencing Club, and academically among the top ten in your grade—not that you're really one to brag with that last one...honest. The closest relationship you have with anyone is with your younger sister Uni, and even then that's currently tenuous at best. When the sun comes up, you trade fighting monsters, thugs, and your rival CPUs for weathering the battlefield of fickle teenagers, vicious rumors, and an absolutely unforgiving social class system that could only have been conceived by the mercurial minds of children.

Some days you feel safer when everything really is trying to kill you.

-Excerpt from "Throw It All Away [1.11]"
Gamindustri, a world that exists outside reality where four nations are ruled over and protected by goddesses called Console Patron UnitsCPUs.

However, there are multiple worlds, and therefore multiple Gamindustris. There are even some worlds where the concept of Gamindustri is replaced with another, altering the destinies of that world and its residents to sometimes drastic degrees as a result.

This is one such world, where the "goddesses" are as human as anyone else: the Magidimension. But this world is not without conflict and strife, and when the sun goes down, girls in possession of magical power go to war on city streets, rooftops, and factory lots to become the strongest Magical Girl there is and have their desires granted... This is the Crystal War, and one of its combatants is an otherwise ordinary high school girl named Noire...

MAGIDIMENSION NEPTUNIA B
Magical Girl Noire

This quest plays out in two distinct "phases": Night and Day. During the daytime, Noire—perfectionist and tsundere extraordinaire—will attend Gamicademi High School and find a way to support herself and her sister Uni. Once we hit sunset however, Noire has the opportunity to become the magical girl Black Heart and go out in search of people to help and bad guys to fight before her rival CPUs beat her to the punch. In both phases, successfully assisting or saving others will reward Noire with Shares which she can use to improve her magical abilities and become stronger. There are other elements Noire must utilize, such as gaining Proficiency Points as she fights to win and survive that she can use to further upgrade her magic skills, and Credits because like it or not...money makes the world go 'round.

Beyond that, the sky or the abyss is the limit! This is a Magical Girl story, so how Noire juggles her two personas of "Noire the schoolgirl" and "Black Heart the magical girl", and how she handles the ongoing struggle of fighting the Crystal War will grow to define her for better or worse as she makes the transition from girl to young woman. Will she wow us with a glorious, heartwarming tale of believing in the powers of friendship and love? Will she offer us an insight into what it means to trust only in yourself and use whatever you can to survive? Or will she break under the strain and come out the other side as a hollow shell of her former self? She might not be aware of it herself, but Noire is counting on you to guide her to her destiny, whatever it may be!
  • Deep, dynamic turn-based battles! Use every advantage you have and your foes' weaknesses to emerge victorious!
  • Intricate customization! Learn magic and boost attack power, agility, and more to make a Magical Girl you can be happier with!
  • The gang's all here! They may have different roles and jobs, but the Magidimension still has plenty of your favorite Neptunia characters!

If you're reading this after our protagonist was chosen, you may view the spoiler below for the original prompt.
Welcome to a "Hyperdimension Neptunia Magical Girl Quest", otherwise known as "the idea that just wouldn't die in my head." This is what happens when you read quests here on SV while playing MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies.

Lemme just throw the world concept at ya: this is yet another Neptunia alternate universe, based on the light novel series Hyperdimension Neptunia: High School, where everyone's favorite moe anthropomorphisms of the seventh generation of game consoles are human and not Console Patron Units, and go to class like any other Japanese high school girl.
Sound familiar? MegaTagmension Blanc is based on this LN series as well, but throws out the slice-of-life setting in favor of giving us a zombie apocalypse spectacle fighter action game. Oh, and Neptune and her fellow console girls are goddesses again.

This time though, this quest sees Nep-Nep and the gang being all human again, and you're getting magical girls instead of zombies...or an apocalypse. actually, maybe I should take that last one back...

The standard SV rules apply, so let's just jump right in!

It is a cool, crisp evening. People are settling down for the night, perhaps watching that hit cop drama or finishing supper...totally unaware of the evils that go "bump" after the sun goes down.
They are unaware...because of you. Because you are a "Magical Girl."
Sworn to uphold the faith and hope of the people!
To protect the goodness of friendship, love, and justice!
To send the bad guys packing and look cute doing it!

But there's obviously more to you than just being a protector of the masses with fantastical powers. What's your real reason for being a Magical Girl?

[] "To be the coolest, most awesome magical heroine ever!"
[] "To get everyone to shut the hell up and like my novels. Actually...maybe I'll have a fuller figure instead..."
[] "To...find some friends... N-not that I don't have any friends! I have a ton of them! Really!"
[] "To have sisters, both big and little. I want the whole sibling package, GotY Edition!"

In return for this power, and the chance to have her most fervent wish granted, Black Heart roams the streets of the city under the dark of night in search of Shares, the crystallized faith and gratitude of the people she assists, and the source of her power...and nothing is going to stand in her way, not even the three other "magical girls" who are doing the exact same thing!

      (Black Heart's True Identity)

      {Click image to view it separately}
Occupation: Student at Gamicademi High School (Classroom 2-A), Fencing Club member
      Height: 158cm
      Weight: 43kg
      Sizes: B83-W56-H82
      Personality: Tsundere
Interests: Cosplaying, playing the guitar, voice acting (all when no one's watching, of course)
      Favorite Food: Chocolate pudding

      What We Know So Far
Our protagonist as she is during the day—and whenever she isn't adventuring at night as her alter ego. A second-year student at Gamicademi High School, Noire can be described quite succinctly with two words: driven and tsundere. She strives to be the best at every aspect of her life—the perfect student, the perfect older sister, the perfect model citizen—because due to the circumstances surrounding her life, she truly believes she HAS to be the best. She often claims she has no time for "childish" things like hanging out with her fellow students or pursuing hobbies and interests that seem to offer no obvious benefit, but her suppressed desires for those very same things—to design and wear outfits, to compose and perform a song, or to even just sit down and enjoy a few cups of pudding with a close friend—often undermine her intentions at nearly every turn. And when this facade of the "aloof honor student" is shattered, her go-to response is to react harshly to hide her embarrassment in true, tragic tsundere fashion.
Due to a certain...incident, she and her little sister Uni live at home by themselves, under the watch of their social worker Kei Jinguji. For the time being, Noire has been granted probationary emancipation, and should she fulfill a number of conditions laid out by the courts, her status as an emancipated youth will become permanent and she could claim guardianship of Uni so the two of them could continue living together as sisters. These conditions are as follows:
      1. Noire must prove she can be financially self-sufficient, including regular payment of utility bills and other essential living expenses.
      2. Because she is still a student, Noire must also remain in acceptable academic standing until she graduates high school.
      3. Noire must be a model citizen and abide by the rules of the law.
      4. In addition to taking care of herself, Noire must prove she can provide proper care for Uni as well. This includes both her physical and mental well-being, which will be evaluated by routine visits from Kei to determine whether or not it is in Uni's best interest that she continues living with her older sister.
Being trapped in this tenuous limbo between "child" and "adult" would put tremendous pressure on anyone, and for someone like Noire, who already strives for perfection in everything she does, it is little wonder her classmates consider her to be "high-strung" when she is out of earshot. Can Noire overcome these seemingly overwhelming odds—and whatever else her double life as both a student, and as Black Heart, may throw at her—and be able to have her pudding and eat it, too? Finding out the answer to that question is what this Quest is all about!

      What We Know So Far
Purple Heart, Black Heart's most persistent rival, so much so that our heroine considers her above the other CPUs to be her "nemesis". Perhaps it is fitting that the two sword-wielding magical girls oppose each other so much...though it seems this hostility is relatively one-sided on Black Heart's part, as Purple Heart apparently handles their interactions with the same confident, aloof reaction as pretty much everything else.

      What We Know So Far
A fifth CPU that Black Heart had encountered one night, who seems to operate outside of the four-woman rivalry between Black Heart, Green Heart, White Heart, and Purple Heart that is the "Crystal War". She possesses incredible strength, experience, and magical power, claiming it is because her career as a magical girl has spanned not months, but years. As such, during their first encounter, despite Black Heart's best efforts to overpower her, Iris Heart easily dominated the fight from start to finish. And yet, when she had Black Heart at her mercy, she chose to heal her, claiming she wanted Black Heart to get stronger for the next time they meet. Could the thrill of a fight with an opponent who can match her power be what Iris Heart is after?

      Weight: Unknown
      Sizes: Unknown
      Personality: Cheerful and earnest
Fighting Style: The Monk, wields Megaphone

      What We Know So Far
A sixth CPU that Black Heart ran into on the same night she first met Iris Heart...although the circumstances in which Black Heart and Orange Heart eventually parted ways were much different. She seems to view herself as a genuine heroine, but she has stated to Black Heart that she's also been looking for a long-lost friend and comrade...

      Weight: Unknown
      Sizes: Unknown
      Personality: Unknown
      What We Know So Far
A girl said to have sky-blue eyes and pale lavender hair. She and Uzume were once good friends and even better magical girl partners until she suddenly disappeared one day. Uzume claims that the name "Caelus" was one she had given to her friend, and that the girl had originally gone by not a different name, but a title, of all things...

      What We Know So Far
A fellow Gamicademi second-year in Noire's class. She often keeps to herself and buries her nose in books, even during class. Despite this, however, she's displayed an unusual knack for correctly answering questions when prompted by her teachers, even though everyone else believes she isn't paying attention. She always manages to disappear soon after lunch period begins or when classes are done for the day, but...just where does she go?

She is always eager to test her mettle against any and all challengers, and dreams of being an "adventurer" in the modern era. Her easygoing nature has managed to melt through Noire's carefully crafted mask, making the moments they spend together perhaps the closest Noire has felt to being a normal teenage girl.

      What We Know So Far
A first-year student who runs a school supplies store in Gamicademi's schoolyard before morning classes, and during lunch period. Despite her age and stature, it seems she is well on her way to becoming a shrewd businesswoman, as her store is the one-step destination for things like emergency spare pencils and good-luck charms for exams. She is also in possession of a strangely large Memory Gem she found while walking home one night...

      What We Know So Far
A second-year student who transferred into Noire's class a couple of months before the start of our Quest, Neptune has quickly endeared herself to her fellow students...in addition to becoming a source of frustration for a number of the teachers—Miss Histoire, in particular—due to her lazy approach to schoolwork and a tendency to show up to class just before the bell stops ringing. She has latched on to Noire as a fellow pudding enthusiast, and despite our heroine's reluctance, already considers her to be a friend. A sharp-minded and sharply-dressed businesswoman who is also the social worker in charge of overseeing Noire's probationary emancipation status, and Uni's well-being as her older sister's ward. She was also the one who had informed Noire years ago of the incident that had devastated our heroine's happy life...

      What We Know So Far
Once one of the protégés of the late founder of Avenir, but now is on track to possibly becoming the new leader of the manufacturing giant. Judging by Noire and Uni's reactions to seeing him on TV one morning, it seems they have some history with him...

Personality: More open than Noire, but still tsundere
      Interests: Firearms, ??????, impressing Noire

      What We Know So Far
Noire's younger sister, and probationary ward. Having looked up to her older sister all her life, Uni strives constantly to be perfect in everything she does just like Noire, even though she is more aware of Noire's flaws more than anyone else...and even then, Uni feels what she knows isn't enough, which is why she is also doing everything she can to ease the monumental burden that has been placed on Noire's shoulders, such as making meals for the both of them. In a way, Uni looks after Noire just as much as Noire does for Uni.
Unlike her sister, however, Uni seems to be more comfortable with pursuing her own interests, perhaps as a way to distinguish herself from Noire's shadow. As a result, she often goes to school early and stay late after class as a member of Portacademi Junior High's budding Airsoft Club...or so she claims.

Every self-respecting magical girl needs a non-human sidekick, and in the case of Uzume Tennouboshi, that sidekick is Umio! A fish-like creature with a strangely humanoid face, he possesses an elegant demeanor and the voice of a gentleman. He and Uzume have been through thick and thin together for years, and there is no place Uzume will go where Umio is unwilling to follow. This includes school as well, where he maintains a disguise as a generic student hanging out in a certain clubroom on the third floor.

Abnes wholeheartedly believes it is her mission to do whatever she can to help ensure that the children of the world grow up safe and away from any sort of danger that would prevent them from, as she says, "playing games and enjoying life". However, her tendencies to rant constantly and jump to conclusions often make her detractors see her as misinformed, pretentious, and in some cases even hypocritical. Despite this, she maintains a hefty viewer base, and makes frequent appearances on news media to weigh in as a children's advocate.

    • Applied Sciences—"Ignorantia Configere"
      (?????)
      WARNING—CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION ENCLOSED
      VIEW AT YOUR OWN RISK
      The Director
      Filyn
      (Applied Sciences' "Kid Commander")
      https://i.imgur.com/alyI1JQ.png
      {Use link to view image separately}
      Occupation: ASIC Director
      Height: [REDACTED]
      Weight: [REDACTED]
      Sizes: [REDACTED]
      Personality: Bossy and stubborn
      Interests: [REDACTED]
      What We Know So Far
The leader and figurehead of Applied Sciences, despite what her diminutive appearance may suggest. Her division may only be a smaller part of a larger, nebulous and shadowy whole, but Filyn's rule of her own little "kingdom" is undisputed, thanks in no small part to the assistance of her loyal Vice-Director, or her "Number One". Filyn has taken to identifying all of her subordinates by numbers based on their contributions and how much value they have to her organization. She seems outright determined to get her hands on some research data being held by a rival group known as "Cornucopia", but for what purpose...? Outside groups—such as Cornucopia—often refer to her by the derogatory title "Kid Commander", but she nonetheless proves herself able to stand strong and firm in the face of their thinly-veiled hostility, pushing Applied Sciences to perform and produce beyond expectations.

Although it seems that when she takes the occasional break, she often spends her spare time observing a certain someone...
      The Vice-Director
      Paix St. Gliss
(The Aide Who Supports the Director, Filyn's "Number One")

      Occupation: ASIC Vice-Director
      Height: [REDACTED]
      Weight: [REDACTED]
      Sizes: [REDACTED]
      Personality: Passionate and devoted
Interests: 8-bit music, playing the violin
      What We Know So Far
An incredibly-capable woman who has pledged herself to support the Director of Applied Sciences, serving as Filyn's Vice-Director. While Filyn is certainly a leader in her own right, it is because of Paix's devoted assistance that Applied Sciences is able to operate smoothly despite constant interference from rival groups. She is viewed by her "Lady Director" as her most trusted and most valuable subordinate, a position that Paix holds with great passion and devotion.
      Weapons Tester #1
      Artura Arrima
(The Mad King of Weaponry, Filyn's "Number Two")
      https://i.imgur.com/olHqGyF.jpg
      {Use link to view image separately}
      Occupation: ASIC Weapons Tester
      Height: [REDACTED]
      Weight: [REDACTED]
      Sizes: [REDACTED]
      Personality: Aggressive and battle-hungry
Interests: Weapons, hunting for strong opponents
      What We Know So Far
One of Applied Sciences' two primary weapons testers, Artura is often viewed by many as an uncomplicated person who lives only for the rush of battle, the thrill of pitting herself against a potentially strong foe. Behind that seemingly-simple exterior however lies a cunning mind, one that is always looking for the right buttons to push and test her opponents psychologically. It is for this reason that, despite what would otherwise be seen as a "low" position in Applied Sciences' hierarchy, Filyn views Artura as her "Number Two" subordinate among the group. Having lost both of her arms over the course of her career, she has since received mechanical replicas that are designed and maintained by Applied Sciences' engineer, an incident Artura herself doesn't seem to mind at all as she often continues to push herself and her synthetic limbs to their limits.
      The Engineer
      Ester Zira

      Occupation: ASIC Chief Engineer
      Height: [REDACTED]
      Weight: [REDACTED]
      Sizes: [REDACTED]
      Personality: Reckless and playful
Interests: Robots, machinery, her personal project "Chocoman"
      What We Know So Far
Often spending nearly every waking moment experimenting and designing, Ester Zira just seems to have a way with machines. While some might see her as irresponsible and careless, and probably a bit of a workaholic as well, there is no denying the results that she produces, as nearly all of the weapons, vehicles, and other equipment that Applied Sciences has to its name has come from her brilliant mind, and her mind alone. It is perhaps no wonder then that her Director views her so highly, Filyn having given her the designation of "Number Three" within the group's hierarchy. Her nigh-boundless drive stems from her desire to complete the machine of her dreams, the so-called "Project Chocoman".
      The Test Pilot
      Takeshi Geishin
(A Justice-Minded Pilot and Driver with a Puzzling Past, Filyn's "Number Four")
      {No image found}
      • Red hair that is at least shoulder-length
      • Crystal-blue eyes
      • Handsome, almost androgynous face
      • Teal-colored baseball cap meant to keep his long hair from getting in the way of his work
      • Blue denim work overalls
      • Red jacket displaying Applied Sciences' logo on the back
      • Yellow dress shirt
      • Brown gloves and steel-toed work boots
      Occupation: ASIC Test Pilot
      Height: 160cm
      Weight: 56kg
      Personality: Collected, but childishly enthusiastic
      Interests: Food, transportation, robotics, piloting
      What We Know So Far
Perhaps the most mysterious among Applied Sciences' ranks, Takeshi Geishin's application seemed to come out of nowhere, but it was clearly evident from the start that he has a gift for piloting and driving vehicles, as well as performing maintenance on them. Ester is always happy to have him drive her creations around for her, and the two appear to get along well despite their seemingly one-sided relationship. While his background has passed Filyn and Paix's rigorous inspection, it would appear that they are aware he is hiding some secrets from the group...
      The Scientist
      Dr. Herman Bluetongue
(Self-Proclaimed "Gentleman Scientist", Filyn's "Number Five")
      {No image found}
      • Bright red, sort of spiky hair, like it's somehow intentionally disheveled
      • Green, shifty eyes
      • A relatively handsome, gentlemanly face, but his smiles seem a bit too wide
      • Long white lab coat
      • Dark yellow polo shirt
      • Brown khaki pants
      • Black dress shoes
      Occupation: ASIC Chief Scientist
      Height: 175cm
      Weight: 69.8kg
Personality: Gentlemanly, but with an indecent side
      Interests: Scheming, experiments
      What We Know So Far
Hailing from what is presumably a deeply scientific—albeit controversial—background, Herman Bluetongue quite easily found a niche within Applied Sciences conducting research in chemical engineering and bioengineering, areas where his coworker Ester Zira is not quite as adept. However, unlike the genial relationship she has with Takeshi, Ester and Dr. Bluetongue don't work very well together; in fact, Herman doesn't seem to have a healthy working relationship with anyone within his own division, as he often plots and schemes to undermine his colleagues in an effort to improve his own standing and prestige. This, combined with his strange, paradoxical appearance as both gentlemanly and disheveled, along with the unsettling way his eyes seem to wander sometimes, has kept him close to the very bottom of the hierarchical ladder within Applied Sciences, a position he is almost fanatically driven to rectify.
      Weapons Tester #2
      Yama
(The Walking Wall of Ink, Filyn's "Number Six")
      {No image found}
      • Very short black hair
      • Green eyes
      • Often goes shirtless, displaying the tattoos that cover his chest, arms and back
      • White button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up his forearms when he is forced to dress himself
      • Black pinstripe dress pants
      • Black leather shoes
      Occupation: ASIC Weapons Tester
      Height: 204cm
      Weight: 116kg
      Personality: Violent and easily bored
Interests: Weapons, destruction, a good fight
      What We Know So Far
Seated firmly at the bottom of Applied Sciences' hierarchy, the impossibly tall and large man known only as "Yama" is always yearning for a fight...or at the very least, the chance to find out if the latest weapon he's been given can withstand the brutal strain of being in his possession. While there are moments where he seems to show a shrewder side of himself, his blatant refusal to make himself any more useful beyond being just a weapons tester gives him the smallest amount of value in Filyn's eyes, which sets him apart from his fellow tester Artura, who has no such problem displaying her cunning. One would think that both having an urge to fight strong opponents would make them quite the pair, but in truth, it only drives them to attempt beating each other bloody every time their eyes meet. The numerous tattoos that cover his body promise that there is quite the story to Yama's past, but he seems wholly unwilling to divulge it to anyone.

Skills, Ailments and Other Terms

  • Terms that start with a number or letters "A" through "F" go here! \[*`-'*]v
    A
    Acumen
A temporary ailment that increases the afflicted target's accuracy and evasion by 50%. In addition, physical attacks that match a target's Attack Class weakness will do 25% more damage than normal.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing positive ailments can immediately remove this ailment.

    Area of Effect
Otherwise known as AoE, this describes a specific area in which multiple targets can be affected by Magic, a Skill, or a standard attack.
Circle AoEs will affect targets within a circular area centered around either the target or the attacker.
Cone AoEs will affect targets within a conical area originating in front of the attacker.
Box AoEs will affect targets within a rectangular area originating in front of the attacker.
Line AoEs will affect targets within a straight line originating from the attacker.
Total AoEs will affect the entire surrounding area.
In addition, Circle and Line AoEs may vary in size:
    • Small—0 to 4m
    • Medium—5 to 10m
    • Large—10-20m
    • Extra-Large—20-35m
    AGI Down
A temporary ailment that decreases the afflicted target's speed and evasion by 10%. This effect can be stacked up to four additional times, with a maximum decrease of 50%.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing stat debuffs can immediately remove this ailment.

    AGI Up
A temporary ailment that increases the afflicted target's speed and evasion by 10%. This effect can be stacked up to four additional times, with a maximum increase of 50%.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing stat buffs can immediately remove this ailment.

    Ailment
An abnormal condition that positively or negatively affects combat ability. Ailments are divided into "temporary" and "chronic" types, which partially indicates their severity but most importantly denotes how they can be treated. If a target belongs to a certain family, it may be immune to select ailments.
Temporary ailments can be treated immediately, but they will also fade with the passing of turns in battle. This duration can be dependent on a set number of turns or by hitting a set threshold of success during rolls.
Chronic ailments will linger throughout (and sometimes even after) battles until they are treated.

    Attack Class
Much like how magic is divided into one of eight various elements, physical attacks have characteristics of their own based on how one attacks. There are four Attack Classes:
    • Slash: cutting or slicing with an sharp-edged weapon such as a sword
    • Smash: crushing or pulverizing with brute force by using things like one's own fists or a hammer
    • Thrust: stabbing or lunging forth with a pointed weapon such as a lance or rapier
    • Pierce: perforating or puncturing with projectiles fired from a gun or bow
Enemies are strong against and/or weak to Attack Classes in varying degrees, in addition to elements. Any weapon's proficiency in an Attack Class is measured by stars, up to a maximum of five.

    Attribute Value
Each Memory Gem has a set Attribute Value determined by its type and the Volatile Data it holds. This serves as a way for CPUs to quickly determine which parameters are being improved by their current setup of installed Gems, but when a Data Link has a select combination of Attribute Values, a CPU will gain access to a specific Bifrost Magic skill.

    B
    Berserk
A temporary ailment that increases the afflicted target's physical attack power by 50% but also halves evasion and physical defense power simultaneously. The target will also act on its own, ignoring the orders or suggestions of others in favor of relentlessly attacking in a frenzied rage.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in pacifying berserk targets can immediately remove this ailment.

    Bifrost Magic
Available only through certain combinations of Attribute Values, these are exclusive magical skills in a class all their own due to their power and rarity. Unfortunately, as they can only be accessed through the use of Data Links, no Bifrost Magic can be saved as Non-Volatile Data, so only the most arcane of CPUs will be able to discover and use them.
    Blind
A temporary ailment that halves the afflicted target's accuracy and evasion. Targets that lack anything resembling eyes cannot be blinded.
Treatment: There is a [16-20] chance that the blindness will wear off the first turn after it is inflicted. Each subsequent turn will increase the threshold of success by 1. Items or skills specializing in curing blindness can immediately remove this ailment.
    Burn
A chronic ailment that halves the afflicted target's physical attack power and inflicts a set amount of damage (1/16 of the target's max HP) each turn. Inorganic-type and Machine-type targets cannot be burned.
Treatment: Cold water and ice can soothe the burn and prevent the set damage effect, but items or skills specializing in curing burns are the only way to effectively remove this ailment during combat.

    Business Club
A culture club at Gamicademi High School, this club's purpose is to bring together economically-savvy students and learn the ins and outs of managing a profitable and successful business. One way they do this is by opening and operating their own shops and stalls both on and off-campus. The former is one of the only two ways products can be legally bought and sold at Gamicademi due to the strict regulations set by the Disciplinary Committee.
    Current Known Members:
    • Gust
    C
    Charm
A temporary ailment that causes the afflicted target to betray its allies and aid its enemies instead. The target may attack its friends, or use restorative and stat-boosting skills on the enemy.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in curing charm can immediately remove this ailment.

    Chill
Basic Ice-elemental magic. Freeze an object, whether it's dust in the air or a giant Dogoo.
Costs: 30 MP per icicle, 60-300 MP to directly freeze one object (larger objects require more ice to be made). Requires 8 MB to save.
[Frostbite chance: 1-2, +1 to success threshold per turn spent frozen; icicles guaranteed to pierce unarmored, unshielded targets]
    Confuse
A temporary ailment that causes the afflicted target to attack friend or foe indiscriminately, including using physical or magical skills. The target also might just run away from battle. There is a [1-10] chance that the target will attack an ally on its own, and a [11-20] chance that the target will attack a foe on its own.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in curing confusion can immediately remove this ailment.

    Crystal Prestige User
As far as I can tell, this must be the term this dimension uses to identify what you call "Magical Girls".
In Noire's case, she uses a gemstone known as a Sharicite Core, which was given to her by something called the Grand Sharicite.
    D
    Data Link
A dedicated connection between Memory Ports, these are created with the use of Shares. When two Ports share a Data Link, they will work in unison and be able to draw out more power from installed Memory Gems. The creation of Data Links becomes more expensive as the number of linked Ports grows, and the arrangment of Data Links can also alter a CPU's fighting style over time as she adapts to her new abilities. Undesired Data Links can be broken through a process called "Link Break", after which the Shares that were used to make the now-broken Data Link will be given back for the CPU to use again.
Data Links also allow Attribute Values to be stacked, eventually unlocking a CPU's access to Bifrost Magic.

    Discharge
Basic Lightning-elemental magic. Channel an electric current into something else.
Cost: 180 MP per bolt. A constant charge costs 45 MP per turn. Requires 8 MB to save.
[Chance of canceling target's next action: 16-20; Nerve damage chance: 1-4]

    Disciplinary Committee
This Gamicademi High School club was set up by a group of four individuals to regulate order to the student body and administer justice to rulebreakers. Since its creation, the club has quickly undergone a meteoric rise in power and influence to the point where they nearly rule the whole school with an iron fist. The four—and only—members of the Disciplinary Committee have such control over their peers that no one else knows their real names beyond a single initial; collectively, most students refer to them as "Gold Third".

    Dispersed Share
Like shining light through a triangular prism to reveal the colors of the rainbow, Shares can be "split" through a dedicated process to create a new Dispersed Share that emphasizes a specific aspect or emotion.
There are seven known kinds of Dispersed Shares, each corresponding to an attribute and color matching that of a Memory Gem:
    • Passion—Strength (red)
    • Determination—Vitality (orange)
    • Focus—Intelligence (blue)
    • Serenity—Mentality (green)
    • Cheer—Agility (yellow)
    • Intuition—Technique (aqua)
    • Belief—Luck (purple)
Compared to the number of standard Shares, Gems can be created with far fewer matching Dispersed Shares, allowing a savvy CPU to create Gems at a reduced cost. However, I must warn you that the process of combining Dispersed Shares back into normal Shares is rather costly, so please be smart about dispersing Shares! \['д'];/

    Dizzy
A temporary ailment that prevents the afflicted target from moving or acting at all. Any damage taken by the target is automatically a critical hit.
Treatment: There is a [11-20] chance that the dizziness will wear off the first turn after it is inflicted. Each subsequent turn will increase the threshold of success by 2. Items or skills specializing in curing dizziness can immediately remove this ailment.

    Dream Dust
Neutral magic. Shake off a sleep-inducing powder from your wings.
Cost: 30 MP per turn. Requires 16 MB to save.
    [Sleep chance: 9-20]
    E
    Element
All magical skills belong to one of eight elements, which symbolize their nature. The list of elements is as follows:
    • Neutral
    • Fire
    • Ice
    • Lightning
    • Wind
    • Earth
    • Light
    • Darkness
Much like how enemies can be resistant and/or weak to Attack Classes, elemental resistances and weaknesses should be noted as often as possible.
    Enervate
A chronic ailment that halves the afflicted target's magical attack power and drains a set amount of MP (1/16 of the afflicted target's max MP) each turn.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in curing enervation are the only way to effectively remove this ailment during combat.

    EXE Drive
This is the term applied to extremely powerful techniques or "super-moves". An EXE Drive can only be used after its user has at least 100 Skill Points (SP), but at the cost of all accumulated SP. EXE Drives will achieve the Overclock effect if the user performs them when they have 200 SP, which temporarily unlocks additional power and effects for that EXE Drive. Like Skills, EXE Drives are unique to an individual.
    F
    Fencing Club
A sports club at Gamicademi High School. Club members practice swordsmanship, competing with each other and other schools in one-on-one duels with either foils, epées, or sabers.
    Current Known Members:
    • Falcom
    • Noire
    Fireball
Basic Fire-elemental magic. Toss a condensed fiery orb.
Cost: 60 MP per fireball. Can be charged for 60 MP per turn, but larger fireballs carry a bigger risk of starting fires. Requires 8 MB to save.
[Burn chance: 1-2, +2 to successful threshold per turn spent charging]
    Forget
A temporary ailment that halves the afflicted target's magical defense power and prevents the target from using any magical skills.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in curing forgetfulness can immediately remove this ailment.
    Freeze
A temporary ailment that prevents something from moving and/or acting, depending on what is immobilized. It could be a limb, a piece of machinery, or an entire body.
Treatment: There is a natural [16-20] chance of the afflicted target melting or breaking through the ice each turn, and a [1-2] chance that the targeted area will suffer frostbite if it is biological in nature. Items, skills, or high temperatures can immediately remove this ailment.

    Frostbite
A chronic ailment caused by extreme freezing that halves the afflicted target's physical attack power and inflicts a set amount of damage (1/16 of the target's max HP) each turn. Inorganic-type and Machine-type targets cannot suffer frostbite.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in curing frostbite are the only way to effectively remove this ailment during combat.

  • Terms that start with letters "G" through "M" go here! \[*`-'*]v
    G
    Gale
Basic Wind-elemental magic. Create a sharp, forceful burst of wind with a mighty flap of your wings.
Cost: 90 MP per wind-burst. Requires 8 MB to save.
    [Kamaitachi chance: 1-3]

    Grand Sharicite
A giant floating, supposedly sapient crystal that granted Noire the ability to transform and use magic through the use of the Sharicite Core.
    No other information available.
    H
    Heal
A temporary ailment that regenerates 1/16 of the afflicted target's max HP each turn for up to eight turns.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing positive ailments can immediately remove this ailment.

    Heat Sink Barrier
Also known as "HSB", this is a defensive Crystal Prestige User ability that is active as long as the CPU has Magical Power. This enhanced durability serves as an invisible magical barrier which wraps around the CPU's entire body and will unconsciously protect her from many attacks or environmental hazards. It is not without flaws though, and can be overcome through sheer, overwhelming brute force, or by focusing enough power into a small enough area to pierce through the barrier.
As the CPU is hit, the Heat Sink Barrier will consume MP to safely disperse the harmful force. If there is not much power behind the attack, a small amount of MP will be used; if it is more dangerous, more MP will be required. If the HSB fails to completely protect against an attack, both it and the CPU will take damage. Once the CPU has run out of MP, she will be forced to rely on the defenses her own bodysuit provides to ward off attacks until she regenerates MP to make the HSB active again.
CPUs can divert the normally uniform density of the Heat Sink Barrier into higher, denser concentrations over specific parts of their bodies to reduce the cost of MP and risk of HSB failure. This is a conscious effort on the part of the CPU, preventing her from focusing on casting magic, and exposes the barrier to the visible spectrum, while also leaving other parts of the barrier much thinner and more vulnerable.
A general rule of thumb is that more magically-inclined CPUs have weaker Heat Sink Barriers but more MP and/or a higher MP regeneration rate to compensate, and vice versa. This is not always the case, however.

    I
    INT Down
A temporary ailment that decreases the afflicted target's magical attack power by 10% and magical defense power by 5%. This effect can be stacked up to four additional times with a maximum decrease of 50% and 25%, respectively.

Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing stat buffs can immediately remove this ailment.

    K
    Kamaitachi
Also known as "razor wind", this phenomenon occurs when a current of wind or sound is focused to a very thin point, as if the air itself is as sharp as a sword's cutting edge. This anomaly is normally only possible with the use of magic.

    L
    Link Break
This is a process in which a CPU may sever a Data Link connecting Memory Ports. Any Shares that were used to make the Link will be refunded.

    LUK Down
A temporary ailment that decreases the afflicted target's evasion by 5% and thresholds of success during rolls by 1. This effect can be stacked up to four additional times with a maximum decrease of 25% and 5, respectively.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing stat debuffs can immediately remove this ailment.

    LUK Up
A temporary ailment that increases the afflicted target's evasion by 5% and thresholds of success during rolls by 1. This effect can be stacked up to four additional times with a maximum increase of 25% and 5, respectively.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing stat buffs can immediately remove this ailment.

    M
    Magic
This is a world of Magical Girls, so it is to be expected that magic is a part of this world as well.
At this time, it seems there are eight "elements" of magic: Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind, Earth, Light, Dark, and Neutral.
I shall list each magical skill within the guide as they become known to me.

    Magical Bulk
Known as "MB" for short, this is the space within a Sharicite Core's Non-Volatile Data that a magical skill takes when it is hard-written or "saved" to it. Each magical skill has a set amount of MB based on power and utility.

    Magical Power
Known as "MP" for short, this is the raw magical potential available to a CPU. Without it, a CPU cannot use magic or keep her Heat Sink Barrier active. By drawing in ambient energy, MP will slowly regenerate at a set rate per turn, the rate itself varying between CPUs.

    Memory Gem
Memory Gems are small gemstones created from Shares. Memory Gems (Gems for short) and Shares are alike in the sense that they are both crystallized objects, but while Shares take shape from faith, gratitude and belief, Gems are instead centered around "data" in the same way game discs, cards, and cartridges are. Memory Gems come in seven different colors with each hue embodying a specific attribute:
    • Strength (STR)—boosts physical attack power with a small bonus to accuracy
    • Vitality (VIT)—boosts physical defense power and stamina; you'll stay standing longer in the face of injury and adversity
    • Intelligence (INT)—boosts magical attack power and max MP with a small bonus to magical defense power
    • Mentality (MEN)—boosts magical defense power and MP regen rate with a small bonus to magical attack power
    • Agility (AGI)—boosts speed and evasion; get enough speed and you'll get to attack more than once per turn!
    • Technique (TEC)—boosts accuracy with a small boost to physical attack power; get enough accuracy and you might find yourself making more critical hits!
    • Luck (LUK)—boosts your chances of favorable outcomes during rolls with a small bonus to evasion
CPUs can send a specific number of Shares, known as a Memory Gem Plan, to the Grand Sharicite, and it will give them a Memory Gem as a sort of "reward". In addition, due to the plethora of CPUs in the region, dropped or hidden Gems are scattered all around the city as well
By "installing" Gems into their Sharicite Cores, CPUs can draw power from them to use new magical skills and improve their own abilities. This capability can be improved through the investment of Proficiency Points, but only up to a certain limit determined by each Gem.

    Memory Gem Plan
The shorthand term being "Plan", a Memory Gem Plan is a recipe of sorts, and shows how many Shares are needed to create a specific Memory Gem. Much like Gems, Memory Gem Plans can be found in various places, or in the hands of greedy opponents.

    Memory Port
Known otherwise as "Ports", Memory Ports are specialized sections within a Sharicite Core where a CPU can install a Memory Gem. They are created through the use of Shares, and multiple Ports can be made in one Sharicite Core. Memory Ports can work better in unison and draw out more power from Gems if they are connected by a Data Link. Shares can also be used to upgrade or "level up" a Port, which will allow it to handle more powerful Gems and for more Proficiency Points to be invested at a time.

    MEN Down
A temporary ailment that decreases the afflicted target's magical defense power by 10% and magical attack power by 5%. This effect can be stacked up to four additional times with a maximum decrease of 50% and 25%, respectively.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing stat debuffs can immediately remove this ailment.

    MEN Up
A temporary ailment that increases the afflicted target's magical defense power by 10% and magical attack power by 5%. This effect can be stacked up to four additional times with a maximum increase of 50% and 25%, respectively.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing stat buffs can immediately remove this ailment.

  • Terms that start with letters "N" through "T" go here! \[*`-'*]v
    N
    Nerve Damage
A chronic ailment that halves the afflicted target's speed. There is a natural [1-4] chance of preventing the target from moving and/or acting per turn.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in healing nerve damage are the only way to effectively remove this ailment during combat.

    Non-Volatile Data
Once a Memory Gem has enough Proficiency Points invested into it, some of its Volatile Data will be "hard-written" or copied directly into the Sharicite Core. This Non-Volatile Data can then be accessed at any time, regardless of whether or not its original Memory Gem is installed.

    O
    Occlude
Basic Dark-elemental magic. Ensnare even shadows in a blanket of darkness.
Cost: 160 MP per turn spent casting. Area of effect will increase each turn spent casting. Requires 8 MB.
    [Terrify chance: 1-3]

    P
    Petrify
A chronic ailment that prevents the afflicted target from moving or acting at all. There is a [1-6] chance that any damage taken will instead defeat the target instantly. Inorganic monsters cannot be petrified.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in curing petrification are the only way to effectively remove this ailment during combat.

    Poison
A chronic ailment that inflicts a set amount of damage (1/16 of the afflicted target's max HP) each turn through the corrosion of a target's biological systems or structural integrity.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in purging poison are the only way to effectively remove this ailment during combat.

    Proficiency Points
As a CPU becomes more experienced through combat and performing other tasks, she will accrue Proficiency Points, or "PP". These can used to improve a Memory Gem's Volatile Data through a process called "investment", resulting in increased parameter boosts and the creation of Non-Volatile Data. The number of Proficiency Points that can be invested is dependent on several factors:
    • The current level of a Memory Port
    • The number of PP that has already been invested into a Memory Gem, as its "PP cap" is the absolute limit
    • How much time has passed since the last investment (one day is required for a Memory Port to fully "process" an investment)
    Purify
Basic Light-elemental magic. Surround a target with rays of purging light.
Cost: 160 MP to cast eight rays of light, 280 to cast sixteen, 320 to cast the maximum of 22 rays of light. Requires 8 MB to save.
[Blind chance: 1-2, +6 to successful threshold if target is hit in the eyes]

    R
    Relieve
Neutral magic. Heal minor injuries quickly with concentrated magical energy.
Cost: 60 MP per turn spent casting. Requires 16 MB to save.

    Rock Crush
Basic Earth-elemental magic. Condense dust and dirt into hard, heavy stone.
Cost: 30-300 MP to create a stone (boulder-sized stones require more material and MP to make). Requires 8 MB to save.
[Dizzy chance: 1-4, +6 to successful threshold if target is hit in the head]

    S
    Seal
A temporary ailment that prevents the afflicted target from using any physical skills.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing seals can immediately remove this ailment.

    Share
Shares are tiny, octahedral crystals that reflect a different color from every angle, and are visible only to CPUs and those that are aware of their existence. They are created from the faith and gratitude of the people, and are a invaluable source of power to those who know how to tap into their power. Through a certain process known as "dispersal", the energy of Shares can be split into more defined aspects or emotions, and creates special Dispersed Shares.

    Sharicite Core
Seemingly ordinary gemstones, these unique jewels are the source of a CPU's magical power. Without one, she cannot transform or use magic. Through the creation and leveling up of Memory Ports, the installation of Memory Gems, and the investment of Proficiency Points, a Sharicite Core and its CPU will grow more powerful.

    Skill
Also known as physical skills. Skills differ from Magic in that they are unique to the individual; barring monsters, no two individuals may have the exact same Skill. Some Skills allow their users to unleash multiple hits in quick succession, inflict increased damage, or provide support. Skills require Skill Points (SP) in order to be used.

    Sleep
A temporary ailment that prevents the afflicted target from moving or acting at all. Any damage taken by the target is automatically a critical hit.
Treatment: There is a [15-20] chance that the target will wake up in response to a small noise each turn said noise is made. Louder noises will increase this chance, while stealth bonuses will reduce this chance. If the target is attacked, the chance of waking up is guaranteed. Items or skills specializing in awakening targets can also immediately remove this ailment.

    STR Down
A temporary ailment that decreases the afflicted target's physical attack power by 10% and accuracy by 5%. This effect can be stacked up to four additional times with a maximum decrease of 50% and 25%, respectively.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing stat debuffs can immediately remove this ailment.

    STR Up
A temporary ailment that increases the afflicted target's physical attack power by 10% and accuracy by 5%. This effect can be stacked up to four additional times with a maximum increase of 50% and 25%, respectively.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing stat buffs can immediately remove this ailment.

    Student Council (Gamicademi)
Nearly every school has a student council, and Gamicademi High School is no exception. Formed to teach students about democracy and leadership, the Student Council has risen and waned in authority as members come and go, but after Vert become Student Council President, its popularity has reached a peak it hasn't enjoyed in years, for better or worse. The only club that can currently match it in terms of dominance has been the Disciplinary Committee.
    Current Known Members:

    T
    TEC Down
A temporary ailment that decreases the afflicted target's accuracy by 10% and physical attack power by 5%. This effect can be stacked up to four additional times with a maximum decrease of 50% and 25%, respectively.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing stat debuffs can immediately remove this ailment.

    TEC Up
A temporary ailment that increases the afflicted target's accuracy by 10% and physical attack power by 5%. This effect can be stacked up to four additional times with a maximum increase of 50% and 25%, respectively.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing stat buffs can immediately remove this ailment.

    Terror
A temporary ailment that halves the afflicted target's attack and defense power, both physical and magical. There is a natural [1-5] chance of sheer fear preventing the target from moving and/or acting per turn.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in pacifying terrified targets can immediately remove this ailment.

    Trait
Everyone has their own personality, quirks, and idiosyncracies. For the sake of this guide, I will refer to these as Traits. Traits will alter how one proceeds through life, for good or bad. But a person does not stay the same forever, and so new Traits may be added, or existing Traits may change or vanish over time.

  • Terms that start with letters "U" through "Z" go here! \[*`-'*]v
    V
    Virus
A temporary ailment that infects Machine-type targets' systems, inflicting either Berserk, Blind, Confuse, Charm, Dizzy, Forget, Seal, or Sleep at random as the afflicted target's systems reboot over the course of one turn. CPU-type targets can also be affected, as the virus will instead prevent the target from using or regenerating MP, preventing the usage of any magical skills or other benefits (such as a CPU's Heat Sink Barrier or ability to fly). Non-CPU and non-Machine targets cannot be infected with this kind of virus.
Treatment: Machine-type targets will automatically have this ailment replaced one turn later by one of the eight other ailments previously listed. As for CPU-type targets, items or skills specializing in the purging of viruses can immediately remove this ailment.

    VIT Down
A temporary ailment that decreases the afflicted target's physical defense power by 10%. This effect can be stacked up to four additional times with a maximum decrease of 50%.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing stat debuffs can immediately remove this ailment.

A temporary ailment that increases the afflicted target's physical defense power by 10%. This effect can be stacked up to four additional times with a maximum increase of 50%.
Treatment: Items or skills specializing in removing stat buffs can immediately remove this ailment.

    Volatile Data
When a Memory Gem is installed into a Sharicite Core's Memory Port, it will share what is known as Volatile Data and grant altered abilities and new magical skills to the CPU who installs it. Proficiency Points can be invested to ultimately improve Volatile Data and copy magical skills over to the Sharicite Core as Non-Volatile Data, but the remaining Volatile Data cannot be saved over and will remain with the Memory Gem.

P.S. I have also come across something called an "Action Chart", which must be how these chances described in my guide are calculated. Thinking it over, I deemed it essential enough to keep it separate from the rest of the information I've gathered.
1: NEPTASTROPHE!
2-5: You biffed it.
6-10: Eh, no biggie.
11-15: Sweet!
16-19: Totally radical!
20: WAKE UP ALL THE NEIGHBORS
I have a sinking feeling that I know who might have written this chart... [-_-];

Found This on GameYAKs: Status of CPU Candidates, Makers, and Other CPUs [x.1]
Are candidates an option? I'd spring for Nepgear in a heartbeat.

[] "To protect Big Sis!"
Nepgear, Uni, Rom, and Ram are currently "locked content."

Our CPU Candidates do exist in this 'verse, rest assured. As do the Makers, which unfortunately are also locked content. Just know that they are all just as human as the CPUs. This includes other CPUs like Plutia, Peashy and Uzume Tennouboshi as well.

"But are they all magical girls, too?" Hey now, that'd be telling! We gotta keep some secrets for later! J-just vote from one of those four quotes up there and we'll...worry about everything else as it happens! Jeez...

I'd vote for Uni, but... And I don't want to be neglectful to her so I'm not going to vote Noire either. Angry loli it is. Good thing I like that archetype, just find them amusing.

Lets see if we can help Lonely Heart find friends :p

Voting will end tomorrow at 10 PM CST.

That'll hopefully give you guys time to calm down after finding out more about Four Goddesses Online being a real game soon.
I speak, of course, of Compile Heart's developer conference thingy at Unreal Fest 2016.

If anyone lurking around this quest is watching that conference, fill me in on the details, won't you? I'd watch it myself, but I've got a raid coming up in about five minutes. That True Goddess-ranked "Apocalypse Sword of the Godslayer" locked in the depths of the Atlas Labyrinth is gonna be mine!

Hmm... well, time to switch around a bit.
