Organic chemistry is advanced enough to synthesize indigo. No idea if it's cheap enough to be used as hair dye.

I mean, to start with, its light blue, not indigo, secondly, you don't use actual indigo in hair dye, iirc.

Huh, I thought there were indigo derivatives used way in the past, we've just stopped using them now because synthetic dyes come out much better.
