Little Spider In A Big World (Marvel/DC)

Who do you want to talk to before the speech?
[X] Batman and Robin, then Superman and Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman and then Nick Fury's group (1st option)

Who do you want to talk to after the speech?

[X] Cloak and Dagger, then The Flash and Green Lantern, Aquaman and then Hank Pym and Bruce Banner (1st option)

[1] Man oh man, it's Wonder Woman! She was famous since she was fighting alongside Captain America in World War II! She even confirmed as such in an interview! If there is anyone you could learn about Captain America from, it's definitely her. You have to do this for Uncle Ben, since he adored Captain America.

[2] Oh my god, it's Superman! Oh man, you have a chance to talk to the greatest hero ever! Ever since you became Spider-Man you were inspired to be a lot like Superman in a way, and now you have a chance to talk to him? This is so awesome! He's also talking to the Martian Manhunter? He's really cool too! As rude as it would be to intrude, would you really miss this chance?

[3] You saw a small group of people talking among themselves. You didn't recognize them, but they seemed rather intense. One was a black man in his 50s who had an eyepatch over his left eye. There was also a rather serious and intense-looking manwith a bow and arrow quiver on his back who wore a tactical armor colored black and purple. There was also a blonde woman who looked a bit more relaxed than the two men and lastly there was a young woman, who didn't seem that much older than you with a red spandex suit with a bow and an arrow quiver on her back as well. As much as you didn't want to talk to them, maybe you should?

[4] You looked around the crowd, bit nervous and not sure who to speak to...wait, are those Dr. Bruce Banner and Dr. Hank Pym? Holy cow, it's them! Two of the most brilliant minds of the modern era and mybe in the entire history of the world, Reed Richards! You are so going to talk to them! Hay, there is also a woman with them. Is that The Wasp?

[5] Oh man, Batman and Robin are here, with the Dark Knight glaring at you with judgemental glares. The Boy Wonder looks more relaxed than his mentor, but they are still really unsettling and serious. Well, they are probably the best crimefighters among everyone here, so it's best to maybe...talk to them? Please god, don't let Batman do something horrible to you.

[6] There are two teenagers who don't seem affiliated with any of the Justice League members. One is a tall boy wearing a black cloak and looks scary and intense, standing away from everyone else, while the other is a blonde girl who wears a costume that is completely white and she is lively and social. Right now she's talking to the boy in the cloak, so maybe you should introduce yourself?

Outtakes/Omakes
In this quest, participation is something that I would appreciate, so when it comes to outtakes/omakes, side stories etc. will be written by all of you (after the prologue of course).

These side stories can be written as just a perspective change from our main character to that of another character, whether it is another member of the team, a member of the JLA, a civilian or a villain. These side stories will have bonuses to then and might be canonized if I think they are good enough. While the bonuses won't be something too great, in order to prevent incredible amount of bonuses to stack, reading and writting is still a very fun prospect.

Oh, and of course there is a mandatory omake that needs to be written and that is the news report of the Daily Bugle, with their Spider-Man hating agenda. That one must be written only after a mission is finished and will be to serve just as a fun part of the world. Fortunately for all of you, I won't be writing that one, that pleasure goes to you guys, though you will have to discuss among yourselves who gets to write it each turn.

Also the daily Bugle is not the only form of media you can write the perspective of, but also the Daily Planet, The New York Times etc.

So what do you say people, are you in?

So what do you say people, are you in?
I'll write some omakes in my free time. I feel like I'm obligated to do Lex Luthor as a perspective at some point but I'll probably stick to some more weird and out there stuff to see what clicks with the world building until later in the quest. (Prepare for Bobo T. Chimpanzee and Hit Monkey teaming up to try and kill Bullseye. I don't know when I'll get around to writing it but I will make it at some point)

Sewer Gator
Here goes omake attempt number 1

Sewer Gator:
Waylon Jones sometimes wondered if he had the right idea moving to New York from Gotham. Sure he no longer had to deal with the Bat and his motley collection of colorful brats but when you spent your days living in the sewers and occasionally fighting a teenager in spandex who just didn't know when to shut up you tended to rethink your life choices. The wallcrawler was incredibly annoying in a way Batman hadn't been and getting beaten up in hand to hand combat by a teenager didn't help his rep at all. On top of that New York had way more surveillance than Gotham forcing him to stay in the sewers if he wanted to move around undetected. Living in the sewers was unpleasant and while it was nice to be able to freely swim the smell sometimes drove him barmier than a polecat.

Still Waylon ultimately had to conclude that the movie had been a smart decision In New York the villain community was much more welcoming. There were no maniacs like the Joker or Ivy or Freeze who had their obsessions define them and where just as likely to try and kill you as they were to fight Batman. The boys in New York were much more understanding. Shocker was another man with roots down south, Sandman was a regular joe who was comfortable teaming up so long as the goal was monetary, Dr. Octopus was a blowhard but could work with Waylon when the situation called for it and didn't insult Waylon nearly as much as Nygma would have. Everyone with the exception of Electro was easy to work and get along with (and Electro while still not playing with a whole deck was a hell of a lot easier to deal with than most of the criminal element in Gotham). Sure he had to pay a tithe to the Big Man but the Big Man covered for him and organized the whole community. And that's what it was here in the big apple a community. Hell they had a bar and everything for supervillains to meet up and hang out at.

Waylon picked some webs out of his teeth and began to dive underwater. He was ultimately content with the way things were. Sure the Webhead was annoying but he wasn't homicidal and the community was far kinder. His rep took a bit of a hit but the supervillains here didn't really care about that. All in all Waylon was content with the way things were going. The Big Man had more than adequately satisfied his needs and with the constant jobs he was offered to take on he could earn some green and get food in his belly. And nothing makes a croc happier than having a full belly and a cushy lifestyle. Now if only he could find a way to get out of living in the sewer.

Voting is closed. I'm starting the update soon.

Also are going to be allowed after the prologue, not during it. Still, I'll allow this one since I liked it, but that's it for omakes until the end of the prologue, alright?

Was the omake any good? I tried to keep it short to not contradict canon too much. I'll probably throw out some more stuff as time goes on (I'll probably write a past Justice League adventure next) but I wanted to start off simplistic at the beginning. What can I do to improve the omake attempts I post in the thread?

Prologue: Pre-Speech Conversations Part 1
You thought for a little bit about who you wanted to approach. There were so many people that you wanted to talk to, but you didn't know who to talk to first. After a bit of wondering around, you finally decided upon who to go and talk to first. You just wish that you didn't do a mistake thinking that it would be a wise decision of you to make.

You started to walk towards the wonder due, cautious and nervous of even approaching the two, as you could still see the white eyes of the mask of Batman squinting as he carried a scowl while looking at you. You felt like he was judging your every step, assessing you. You felt frightened of approaching him, but you wanted to know from the best crime fighter how to improve yourself as a crime fighter, because you currently are the one protecting New York's small neighborhoods.

You finally reached to the remote side of the room that the superhero and his sidekick were standing at, while under your suit you were sweating with concern about how to start the conversation. Would you say hello? Would you introduce yourself to them, just to be polite? This was nerve-wracking for you for very different reasons that it would talking to somebody else inside the room.

"So you're Spider-Man, huh?" the Boy Wonder was the first to break the ice, even if his tone was a bit stiff and a bit threatening. "It's the first time I actually get to meet you." he said as a smile rose to his face and he extended his hand, but there was something that resembled Batman's ability to raise the tension. You didn't know how really, whether it was by his body language, posture of his body or the glare he was giving you despite the smile on his face.

"Well, nice to meet you to... Robin, right?" you asked as you extended your hand as well, shaking his with a bit of uncertainty to you. You were starting to feel a bit more comfortable, but you still felt a little tense around the two, especially because the Dark Knight himself was still completely silent, glaring at you while you interacted with his sidekick. You noticed the way he was glaring at you and from the stories you heard about the guy, he probably knew that you knew that he was inspecting you. But for what purpose was he doing that?

Robin nodded. "Yep, the kid that wears bright colors, at your service." he said jokingly to you before getting a bit closer to you. "Batman and I had been observing you for quite a while. Heck, we're the ones that discovered your secret identity. Took about half a day to find out all of the information about you." the whispered everything to you with a bit of a secretive, yet nonchalant tone.

You immediately took a step back, your mask hiding the shock on your face. "Wait what?! You're telling me that you found out my secret identity? Is that how Mr. Stark knew how to find me?" you asked with a terrified and nervous tone to your voice, sweating rather a lot inside your suit.

Robin shrugged. "Well yeah, obviously. How do you think we contacted everyone?" he told you as you were now more concerned. Did everyone in the Justice League knew your secret identity? Did the rest of the sidekicks knew? Did everyone in this room knew who you really are?

"We've been following you ever since you started fighting crime as Spider-Man, so we know exactly what kind of incidents you resolve and which you prioritize." that was the first thing that the infamous Batman had said to you, and his voice was as stoic and emotionless as you were told about from Croc when you beaten the guy up regularly.

"I have recordings and spare copies of every fight you and every other superhero in this room had, aside from perhaps the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. over there." the tall man gesture with his head towards the large group of people that you were going to talk to later. "And I must say that your hand-to-hand skills are quite lacking, even if you compensate for it with superhuman agility and reflexes, as well as some sort of a sixth sense of sorts. You also don't seem to give any sort of seriousness to your fights, taking them as more than jokes for your own entertainment. I wish to see you care more about your situation." he said with a tone of a critic who was still keeping his eyes on you with clear intensity.

You gulped as your body tensed as you were sweating some more upon hearing what the man in the bat suit said, and you didn't really know how to respond to it. (Pick 1)

[] "Well, the humor and jokes are actually just an act of a brave face. In actuality, I'm scared to death doing all of this, knowing that there are people who care for me. But I can't show fear to my enemy, especially if that's what they want to see. Plus, if I can make fun of whoever I fight against, why shouldn't I?"
[] "Huh, I didn't know I was so lacking. Would you two mind giving me advice for future improvement, as fellow crime fighters with more experience?"
[] "I guess that's just the way I am. I joke around because it relieves tension and because the criminals I fight against just make it too easy not to laugh at. I mean take Killer Croc for example. How can I not make a sewer aligator joke about him? But I admit, there are places I can improve, and I'll certainly be glad to learn."

----------------------

You took a bit sigh after finishing your conversation with Batman and Robin. That was too tense for your liking and you didn't want to think about how scary the man was. You just needed a break.

You walked into the crowd, looking around to see who you could talk to and you planned to talk to that large group of people that were hurdled up together, since they were apparently government agents. Or at least that's what Batman said.

Suddenly you saw something that caught your eye: a long, red cape. To be more precise, you saw a large man with a giant cape. Oh god, it was Superman! Oh man, oh man, that's so incredible! Superman is here and he's talking to... Martian Manhunter? No way! You always wanted to talk to an alien! There was no way that you weren't going to talk to them.

You walked toward the two with an excited grin on your face, which was of course covered by your mask. When you got close to the two, they seemed to have stopped their conversation and turned to face you, which made you excited but also a bit flustered when you stopped right in front of them.

"Oh, you're Spider-Man, right?" the Man of Steel asked you with a friendly smile on his face as he extended his hand to you. "I'm glad that Tony brought you into this team. Batman showed me quite a bit of you and I've got say that you remind me a lot of myself when I was younger." he told you with a warm and almost fatherly tone to his voice.

Your eyes glamored under your mask as you grabbed the man's hand with both of your hands and shook it with all of your eagerness. "Oh my god, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!" you rapidly thanked Superman for his compliment as you continued to shake his hand, which just made him chuckle. "That means so much to me when it comes from you! You're like the greatest superhero ever, and I don't deserve to be compared to you in the slightest what so ever!" you continued to rapidly spam your words out of your mouth in a really fast pace.

Since you didn't let go of his hand, the Man of Steel raised his other hand, gesturing you to stop talking. "It's okay Spider-Man, take a deep breath. No need to stop breathing just to talk." he said with a gentle and caring tone as now the Martian Manhunter stood next to him. You did as the man told you and took a deep breath as you let go of his hand.

You now noticed the Martian and he looked at you with a completely stoic expression on his face, making you gulp slightly. He wasn't as intense as the Dark Knight, but having to talk to people that you can't read their emotions was always a bit of a worry for you. "I like the eagerness you show, Spider-Man." the green-skinned man said to you as the edges of his lips curled into a small smile. "You remind me a lot of Flash and his youthful attitude. I'm sure you'll be an invaluable member of this team." he reassured you when he spoke, making you more relaxed now that you saw that the alien wasn't as stoic as you perceived him.

Well, you can start a conversation, but what would you like to converse with the two about? (Pick 1)

[] "I have to ask you two something. What is it like for you on Earth, knowing that you're aliens and all?"
[] "Hm... Superman, was there ever a time that you suffered from bad publicity or bad press? I'm kind of stuck in the bad press territory, especially because the Daily Bugle is the only paper that puts me on the front pages. Any advice?"
[] "Mr. Manhunter... do you mind if I call you Mr. Manhunter? Anyway, can you tell about Mars? I'm really interested in science and I'd like to know more about your society and how you lived on a planet we on Earth consider a lifeless wasteland?"
[] "Do you two think that I'll have time to fight crime on my own to patrol New York while working with the Team? Because Mr. Stark didn't give me information about how many times a week would I need to spend time here, or any information for that manner.

I'm a little disappointed that Robin didn't balance out Batman's "bad cop" approach there. Oh well, "Batman is a jerk" is a depressingly common portrayal among fans and writers alike...

Okay, votes closed. I will try to update this week, though I will not update every day and maybe up to once or twice a week, since I have work and other projects in my life right now that put a lot of pressure on me.
