We're here to rule instead of playing villain.
Remember to be the you that Anna knows you can be.

We can do both (indeed a lot of villains do).
The Anna reading Josef Mengele?

I mean, I don't have a problem if we don't end up a villain, just saying it's looking pretty likely (and even if not, we almost certainly wouldn't care enough about Maleficent's morality to turn her down as a potential magic teacher).

[x] An Old Man with One Blue Eye.

- sorry to the Maleficent fans out there, but its ODIN. And Odin is known as the God of Magic in Norse Mythology. He hung himself for nine days from the World Tree to get the secrets of Runes and Magic, he sacrificed one eye to know the secrets of the Universe and the end of time. He works tirelessly to prevent the end of days and sits on his high throne where he can see everything. If one dude knows about Magic its that guy even above Maleficent.

[X] A Large Grey Wolf
I just like wolves.
[X] Magic
Future Queen of Ice and Winter. Instead of our subjects loving us, they fear us and do our bidding all the same - maybe with even more fervour.
[X] Endurance
Healthy Elsa.

Lack of Strength: I look forward to Elsa being this super-magic witch-queen who has problems opening jammed doors and getting ambushed by kittens jumping on her.

Charisma and Intelligence: We have Anna for that, right? And if negotiations break down, Elsa has to ice the enemy.

Oh god. All our stats besides magic are so low that it makes me sad.

Looking over the character sheet.

Satiety: XXX/100

Sanity: XXX/100

Constitution: XXX/100

Why don't we know what our current Sat, San and Con are?

[????] :
  • [????]
  • [????]
  • [????]
  • Gains [????]
  • Gains Iceborn
  • Gains Hunger
  • Roll 1D20 for Initial magic
  • +10 for starting magic
  • You need to progress through the path of the Soul to learn more about this.

It looks like Iceborn and Hunger aren't the root of Elsa's magic; rather, they're byproducts of something deeper.

As a sidenote, I am so glad we went Acolyte since it's the path to uncovering the secret of Elsa's magic.

As your Hunger increases and your Satiety decreases, your sanity will fall, but your magic will grow.

:o I don't know whether I should be shocked, glad, or annoyed that I found this.

On one hand, this means that Hunger is inversely proptional to the strength of Iceborn which is valuable to know.

But on the other hand, it means getting the maximum magic might is a pain since trying to keep Satiety both low enough to draw forth sufficient strength and high enough not to run out and hit 0 and get the critical San drop(how much is it anyways, would it go 100 San to 0 San or something lighter) is going to be annoying. It also bugs me just because I like have everything topped off, not leaving it precariously low.

Also, the mechanic reminds me of Elder Scrolls vampires, and I don't care how well-justified it is in lore, drinking blood-and eating warm-bloodied creatures in Elsa's case-should not make you weaker than if you were starving!:rage::rage:

Dammit! Something else I forgot to do!

Ah well.

Right now, those stats don't matter too much, but I'll update them when I get the chance.

However, on the Hunger-Power front.

As I said before, this isn't a physical affliction. As you noted before, this is because her magic and hunger come from the same trait, they're inextricably linked. Her magic isn't a natural human part of her, like her blue eyes or having ten fingers. The starving is primarily mental. As noted before, she could go a day without food and be fine. She could go weeks without food, and be fine. Sure, her hunger would increase, but it wouldn't be debilitating like it is for a human. The problem comes more from its endless insatiability than it's imminent and impending doom.

Elsa's ice magic is a result of her inhumanity. The hungrier she is, the more inhuman she is. The more inhuman she is, the more inhuman magic she has. However, the more full she is, the more human she becomes. The more human she becomes, the more mundane she is. Humans aren't naturally magical, and a base 37 magic is impossibly high for a human to start off with.

Because make no mistake, this curse/blessing has made her inhuman.

Anyways, as a general rule 1 Sanity = 2 Hunger. Sanity is harder to raise than hunger since you can lose Sanity from a wide array of sources. If you ever fell to under 20 hunger It'd go up to a 1-1 ratio as you fall into the critical hunger levels, where every point matters. However, if you get down to 20 Satiety, raising it'll be easy enough. One meal should be enough to raise you out of that.

At the same time, you're going to be increasing your hunger and Sanity meters as time goes on. Satiety will go up naturally as you get older and expand your powers, sanity will go up as you further down the path of spiritual enlightenment (The Soul path) and learn more about yourself. Endurance and Intelligence can also affect these things, but at present yours is too low to matter.

Anyways, as for the vote itself.

  1. [ ] Charisma
    Number of voters: 21

  2. [ ] Magic
    Number of voters: 17

  3. [ ] Endurance
    Number of voters: 16

  4. [] A Black Raven
    Number of voters: 13

  5. [ ] An Old Man with One Blue Eye.
    Number of voters: 12

  6. [ ] Intelligence
    Number of voters: 12
That's where things stand at the moment. I might call it soon, but Raven v.s. Old man is a pretty close race, so might just call the stat part, which is far more decisive.

Because at present it looks like a fairly sizable choice for Charisma, Magic, and Endurance.

Hmmm.

Where does Elsa's power come from; this inhumanity?

It couldn't have come from her parents. I doubt she made a contract.
With the references to it being a blessing/curse, perhaps it was bequeathed to her?

If that's the case, meeting Maleficient would be wise as nobody would know cursing princesses better than her. An evil fairy godmother so to speak.

Her magic isn't a natural human part of her,

Does this mean that she didn't inherently have this power?

I think you forgot a "not" or another negative modifier here
