Hope Corgi: All Will Be Well (DC/FoZ)

So...the Blues are limited so they don't fix all of the universe's major problems and make normal superheroes pointless? Because that's what I'm getting from this.
Basically blue power rings are kept under permanent lockdown because if they weren't they would be TERRIFYINGLY powerful because hope is the single easiest emotion to gather. Normally blue lanterns can only access their full ring power when working in concert with a green lantern (because of the whole universal police thing)
It's kinda like what happened in naruto with spreading the bijuu out so one group didn't get to strong.
So yeah it's fucking stupid but that's how paranoia works.

That guys's "Hope" is not anything aprocheing real Hope. He promotes a false hope that is taken advantage of in his schems.

And if that guy is in range to effect us our best option is to evacuate the Universe and go tell on him to TOA or Presence .
oooooooooor central battery that hope energy....

And they're still some of the scariest guys around even after that. *Points at Hope Corgi ripping open time* Paranoia? Maybe. Understandable? Very much so.

It can be likened that each of the chaos gods are a good concept taken to its extreme.

Tzentch: Hope so strong for yourself that you neglect to help others. Hope that you and you alone benefit from the change in the status quo because life is a zero-sum game.

Khorne: Honor and Glory is all that matters. Starts off as 'being the perfect soldier' (minimizing civilian casualties, keeping your comrades alive, etc) and slowly becomes 'being the perfect warrior' (the more allies who die, the more glory for you; there are no civilians, only people who refuse to fight)

Nurgle: Compassion and one with nature in all of its horrible beauty. Lives matter, the trillions of bacteria all over your body matters more than your single life and thus you should stop taking care of yourself to let them run riot.

Slanesh: Lord/Lady of pleasure and self-improvement. Most people know slaneshii fairly well so I won't explain.

Problem is, he isn't just the god of hope, but of plots and trickery as well.
But above all that, he is the god of Change. And change, while not innately benevolent nor malevolent, isn't something that stops. In 40k, an Imperial citizen may hope for a life of peace, but so too does an alien have the hope of conquering him. And humans in fact like certain level of stability and predictability; that why most people have stable jobs, they like to be able to plan their future.
The problem with the warp and most specifically this one chaos god is that it's all self-contradictory (one being hopes for the antithesis to what another being hopes), and lacks all restraint (scheming and change are goals in and of themselves, not means)

In that sense, the Hope Gorgi is in fact very tzeentchian: using hope (the wish for things to be different), to power change.
The difference of course is that Hope Gorgi is more about the hope aspect; if lack of change is needed for All To Be Well, then things shall not change (aside from maybe a few more hugs being given) :)

They basically don't, except in name only and maybe in getting power to do the evil stuff from people feeling positive emotions; its one of the weakest points of the setting worldbuilding.
Yeah that's a fair point - the positive stuff they say they're associated with is just an excuse to go "nope, even if you try and make life better, Chaos still benefits somehow".
