For Glory and Honor! A cultivation riot quest.

Just to be clear, what happens if I picked port city, do I specifically live there and can interact with people on frontier, or do I play my character in the frontier.

I don't think we get to pick individually, we're all in the Skypiercing Mountains together.

[X] Hidden Dragon
-[X] A hermit from ages long forgotten.
-[Name] [X] Lin Lei
-[Race] [X] Dragonkong(dragon beast kin)
-[gender] [X] Male

Lin Lei had always viewed himself as something more like a researcher or a scientist than a cultivator. So when he was offered the opportunity to buy a pocket dimension that halted the aging of its owner while inside he leapt at the opportunity. Oh, many other dragonkin wanted it too, but they desired it for all of the wrong reasons. They cast their bids declaring that they would use it and cultivate for millennia. Only to emerge in the future as the gods of their new age.

Lin Lei out bid them. Priceless treasures slipped through his grasp like water. More and more people came and casted their bids. Entire clans pooled their wealth together and surpassed Lin Lei's bid. But Lin Lei was an older dragonkin and not a weak one besides. Though it hurt, he beat them out too. Again and again others came to drive up the price and take his prize, but they were all bested by the older dragon-kin.

When he finally won his prize, they all whispered that he was a fool, having lost almost everything he owned for the pocket dimension. But Lin Lei knew that it was naught but the mutterings of bruised egos. He did not need great and amazing treasures, he could make those. He did not need pills and tools and shiny things, he could make those. No, he needed only resources. Dragonscale grass, cloudy eye flowers, heartstone, cattle and more; these were the prizes he brought into his domain. He believed that he could always go out and sell his discoveries for more unique resources.

But it was then that he realized that he had been tricked. As he closed the door of his realm behind him he realized that the door would move only once more. When he next opened the pocket dimension, it could not be closed again. Which was quite the issue as the effect of the domain only worked when the door was closed, but Lin Lei did not despair. It just meant that he would have to make do with what he had.

The first millennia was spent focusing on cultivating the things he had brought. On making sure that each and every ingredient flourished and was brought to the height of its potency. Then he ran his experiments and recorded their results until his resources began to run low and the process repeated itself.

The sellers other claims proved true as time passed. Lin Lei did not age at all and he was content. He cultivated, he studied and he experimented in bliss as the millennia passed. He grew to the peak of his cultivation realm, but he could not ascend. Not because he was untalented or anything, but because one could not undergo tribulation in the absence of heaven. But he did grow more and more skilled as time passed. He not only learned many qi techniques, but he mastered them and their variations.

But his progress slowed as time passed. Without the outside world to experience, to inspire, he struggled. But he persevered. It was the only thing he could do after he had given up so much for this opportunity. His revelations and his discoveries, once so common now came only once every few thousand years. The past grew, the possibilities were reduced, but still he remained.

He persevered until the very pocket dimension itself started to crack from sheer age and it was with relief and a wide smile that he threw open the gate, rather than let all of his discoveries be claimed by the void.

Only to find the world changed entirely.

Gone was the world he knew, that vast paradise ruled by the dragon lords and his fellow dragonkin. Now a new race dominated. They called themselves humans and were all of the worst parts of the dragonkin with none of the goo-well, the dragon. They were everywhere and while other races did exist, the world was far less diverse than Lin remembered it.

It hurt Lin Lei to see his species, once so dominant now so rare, and he was horrified to see how low the dragon lords had fallen. Once so mighty and proud, they had ruled with a just and even hand; but now they were hardly more than beasts and hermits, hiding in the recesses of the world that the humans had molded. Other lands and countries existed, but they were far weaker than the human one. They claimed that their emperor was a god and that his rule was not only eternal, but had always been so.

Lin Lei could not let that stand.

But he was no fool. He did not have the power necessary to stand against the new world. He needed allies. He needed to restore the dragon lords to their rightful place or, the heretical thought wriggled into his mind, become one himself. It was in the sky-piercing blades, a vast mountain range, that he could sense the greatest concentration of these fallen dragon lords.

He moved there and laid his trap. He would build a sect, a human invention a group of clans united under a single leader. He would attract them with promises of riches and power, with the resources from his now open domain that had been extinct in the world for an eon. He would raise them and, in time, convert them to his cause. He would found a new nation based on an old one.

The wheel of time turns, and Lin Lei had decided it was once more the dragons turn to rule.

What is the name of the sect that Lin Lei founded?

What does all those stuff mean for us, like, rare techniques, rare treasures and rare resources all theoretically look useful, but our sect leader is so above us that it seems weird to me if anything a mortal clan can have will be useful beyond the time it takes for the leader to throw us the scraps of his scraps, so like, are they actually useful?

[X] Clan Elder Ling Ian
Since he loves barbarian fashion, he calls himself Ian, although according to documents he is Yang.

[X] Sect of the Lost Dragons.

At the moment the only interesting name that comes to mind.
We are controlled by a dragon, it really was lost and we are looking for lost dragons.

+ This sounds pretentious to an outside observer. We compare ourselves to dragons. How brazen.

Clan Patriarch Chengbao Jiang
[X] Patriarch Chengbao Jiang
-[X] The clan has a larger than usual mortal population.

Family name: Chéngbǎo
Patriarchs name: Jiang

Sect Elders:

Elder's name: Xiao
Elder's focus: Geomancy
Xiao grew up as the eldest daughter in the clan and was pushed into typical minor noble lady things, things she didn't really care for- with the exeption of singing. That she enjoyed and excelled at. When her elder brother took his Engineers Corp out to the frontier, she saw her opportunity to escape the tyrany of family duties and expectations. After they arrived in their new mountainous home she had taken to singing while she explored the region and after some time, she realised the mountains were listening, and even singing back when she listened right. After spending much time singing with the mountains and contemplating the land Xiao awakened as a cultivator of the Dao of Stonesinging. Through this she has discovered how to work with the spirits and leylines of the land for the best results when building, or even convincing them to help demolish buldings by shifting just right. This can obviously be done safely, or extremely unsafely. Her interests extend beyond fortifications, even if it's what the Chéngbǎo spend most of their time on. She can sing stone to shift and move almost fluidly, allowing her to 'grow' stone organically around buildings built into the mountains, making them appear natural/camouflaged from the outside. She's also trying to convince members of other clans to join her in creating a joint singing/musical troupe to create and perform music that is truly original and representative of their collective ambition to found a new nation, with a new spirit.

Patriarchs focus: Securing the Sect's lands from attack & Founding new towns/cities/forts

Family/Clan focus: Military

Clan Specialty: Fortification and Engineering

Clan description/background: Formerly Imperial Army Engineers, the Chengbao clan has for generations worked to either build up or tear down fortifications.

The sect leader gives out rewards and resources in returns for contributing to the sect by doing what he asks. You'll find out more later.

They are all useful, but here's a bone for ya.

-[] The clan is famous. > Fame affects the intake of mortals in your clan and diplomatic actions. As well as the price you are given when trading.
-[] The clan has a larger than usual mortal population. > Mortals generate money and resources. Can be conscripted and perform combat. They also effect the efficiency of acts like farming or building. Their happiness level affects your fame and the amount of cultivators your sect generates is dependent on the amount of mortals.
-[] You start with a Clan hall, which gives you a small boost to clan Fame and makes your mortals more happy. > Extensions of the above. The clan hall is also necessary for other clan buildings.
-[] Get a random treasure of rare quality. > Treasures generate a lot more combat power than qi techniques of equivalent rarity, but can only be assigned to one cultivator and can be lost, destroyed or stolen.
-[] You start with some rare resources. > Necessary for creating and maintaining notable buildings and things like pills or treasures.
-[] You start with three awakening realm npc cultivators. Exact level randomly generated. > More cultivators is good. If your pc dies and your clan has no cultivators for you to transfer to, then your clan goes extinct.
-[] You start with one bloodline ability of common quality. > generates combat power and other special effects. Common because they are much harder to replicate or get rid of by your enemies than qi techniques or treasures.
-[] You start with 2 secret Qi techniques of rare quality. > Gives combat power or other special effects. Multiple cultivators can have one. Even if stolen its not lost as long as you have a cultivator who knows it. The more you use qi techniques in public though, the more others know of your strength and can counter you.

Hope this helps.

Clan Patriarch Wan Po
[X] The Lin Sect

[X] Patriarch Wan Po
-[X] The clan Patriarch/Matriarch starts at late attunement.

Form (Pictures optional):

Family name: Po

Patriarch's name: Wan Po

Patriarch's focus: Plant Based Golemancy

Family/Clan focus: Agriculture

Clan Specialty: Agriculture

Clan description/background: The Po Clan understood the very fundamental truth of Life itself, as they see it, Food is Life. Such a Truth became ingrained into the Clan during their very foundation when the desperate starving tribes of the local area gathered together to both share resources and work together to survive the famine striking their region. Under the leadership of their founder they worked hard to survive the lean times long enough for their efforts at agriculture to show fruit. From then on the tribes became one clan and all swore at the Founding that never again shall they die from starvation, they may bleed, they may sicken, they might burn, but never again shall they or anyone else Starve.

About cultivation, how hard it is, say you start at mid attunement, or late attunement, what can we expect of the progress in which we gather experience, how does resources like pills and such influence it, how hard is getting new cultivators.

How does our patriarch pick influence stuff, like, would getting resources be cheaper than getting techniques from a master? Does the patriarch take students or wives that can be used to get techniques more easily or his bloodline to the clan?

Clan Matriarch Bianzhi Meirong
[x] The Lin Sect
[x] Matriarch Bianzhi Meirong
-[x] You start with 2 secret Qi techniques of rare quality.

Form (Pictures optional):

Family name (The last name. Must be unique from all other players): The Bianzhi Clan

Patriarchs/Matriarchs name: Bianzhi Meirong

Patriarchs/Matriarchs focus: Weaver

Family/Clan focus: Mercantile

Clan Specialty: Crafting, particularly textiles and clothing

Clan description/background:
Clan description/background: The Duyi clan have been weavers for generations, longer than anyone can remember; their textiles are praised throughout the local region for the tightness of the weaves and the brightness of their dyes. However, a shining star can attract the wrong kind of attention. A spirit took notice of Meirong's father, and visited in disguise, asking for a hanging of such beauty that it would make her weep. Twice she returned, each time disposing of the clan's finest offering. Uninspired. Uninterested. And the stakes rose each time, promising destruction if nothing could be done.

Meirong worked tirelessly in seclusion while the rest of the clan panicked. For months she worked, in fear for her father and her clan. And sometime during her feverish seclusion, she discovered how to weave sorrow into cloth. The spirit wept to behold her work, and rewarded the clan - more than that, Meirong found herself awakened. Once the fourth child, she was propelled now into a position of leadership, and has spent several years consolidating her hold on the clan. Now, she hopes to learn more of the wonder-weaver's arts, exploring more of the power she has gained, and the sect's offer seemed the best solution in the moment.

Clan Matriarch Cui Kongjin
[X] Matriarch Cui Kongjin
-[X] You start with 2 secret Qi techniques of rare quality.
---[X] Aqueous Flame Arts: A technique resembling blue flames that ripple akin to ocean waves. A heatless flame, it is instead focused on liquifying substances through the application of elemental Fire and Water in tandem. As dangerous as any strange flame if handled carelessly or weaponized, it is nevertheless an art for craftsmen, allowing one to mould, compress, and resettle any substance they are capable of liquifying into their desired form.
---[X] Stillwater Lenses Chart The Currents: A Water elemental perception technique that enhanced the eyes, focused on tracking motion, physical and spiritual alike. Most useful for finding places where such flows are or can be disrupted, allowing craftsmen and warriors alike to resolve the flaws in their creations or techniques, or introduce such flaws into those of their enemies.

Form (Pictures optional):

Family name: Cui

Patriarchs/Matriarchs name: Kongjin

Patriarchs/Matriarchs focus: Smithing

Family/Clan focus: Research

Clan Specialty: Crafting

Clan description/background: Started as a family of metalworkers, who due to a windfall became briefly wealthy enough to afford some odd cultivation arts. While many were concerned that the previous patriarch had only a daughter and no sons, Kongjin took to learning the family trade and cultivation arts with great talent, proving her name accurate indeed! For better or worse, despite being the clan's heiress and matriarch after her father retired, there are still many incidents where people outside the clan look at Kongjin's name and assume her to be male.

This is roll call, So legal clans are any that vote here. You can wait for me to threadmark them if you'd like. I will be giving a final warning before i finalize all the founding clans. I could include a list there for you all, too to help clear things up.

I don't think someone has made such list.
I'll take the time to advertise my clan, the Zhìxìng Clan.
We are a Clan with three players, with the clan having several smaller branches focused on keeping the Law and Order around them. So they are mainly policemen of all kinds (military police, secret police, normal police etc.) with peoples that go from "I believe Law is fundamental for giving people justice" up to "I don't care if the law is noxious to the common people, better to imprison an innocent than leaving a criminal go free" and so. So you will have the freedom on how to view the law, but all the Zhìxìng enforce it.
