Yeah. He'll probably try to counter with Shiro getting Nanoha involved to begin with, at which point we can deflect since Shiro was not introduced to the moonlight world by us.
Wasn't Nanoha the first one to meet Yuuno? Shirou had nothing to do with that.

We've also already established that Precia is the entire reason why the Jewel Seeds, and thus Yuuno, are on Earth in the first place. She's the one who's really at fault for Nanoha getting involved.

We will investigate the Einzbern ... via orbital bombardment. What?

I'm not sure the TSAB will help us assault someone like that.

Huh, reading it back that does seem a bit much doesn't it? I will probably take that out of the plan.

Anybody else have ideas for how to investigate the Eizenbern?

I feel like we should have Kiri go Magus Killer on Zouken just on principle it would quite literately take one origin bullet Kiri is a direct counter for Zouken if this was Pokemon he would be a fire type and Kiri would be water there is no way we could lose that fight and it would solve so many problems in the future.

Issue with that: After how the Book of Darkness absorb worked, I'm PRETTY sure Zouken is now the worst possible target for the origin bullets, as every single unit of Zouken can be severed and bound without affecting the swarm aside from the damage.

Also, you may want to have the kids exchange phone numbers/telepathic contact/Kaleidocomms. Even if the father hates us, Nanoha can always contact our kids fairly easily, and vice versa. In case things are a bust with the placating, that gives us a backup plan.

Year 3: The Jewel Seed Conflict: Revealing the Book of Darkness (Update 17)
Year 3: The Jewel Seed Conflict: Revealing the Book of Darkness

Since the TSAB had finally arrived and was sticking around, you decided to take advantage of their presence and increased resources.

Considering the power of the Jewel Seeds, it was probably a good idea to keep a hold of them for now. The remaining Tomoe servants agreed with the reasoning, but they still wanted to follow through with the deal. It was only the promise of potential medical help for Hayate to deal with whatever was killing her and the promise of the Jewel Seeds if that fell through made them willing to go through with it.

With that Irisviel went to the Yagami household and performed some examinations of the wheelchair-bound girl, revealing magecraft to her in order to get a closer look.

The first examinations proved surprising. It seemed that an item that was similar to Avalon had bound itself to the girl. It was a book, of some sort, scattered all over her body. While the holy scabbard possessed healing properties, the book possessed a darker nature. Instead of improving health and giving a slight regeneration (it would take a few years to regenerate an arm without King Arthur around, for example), it instead drained a person's Od at a large rate, even an alarming rate, to no benefit to the bearer. It couldn't even be removed like Avalon could be from its bearer (not that anyone in the family has tried for the past few years).

Hayate was able to withstand it simply with her own circuits, but even that was coming to an end.

The book was draining its host for some reason, and deeper examination gave Irisviel a theory that it was likely to revive the sixty or so Witches all at once from their Grief Seeds that had been implanted in the book.

The Tomoe servants were exceedingly nervous during the examination, not having their eyes leave Irisviel during it. After the look-over, Irisviel gave a diagnosis saying that they were between a rock and a hard place. At first glance, Hayate was doomed to die. If she failed to produce enough Od, the book would kill her. If she fed enough prana to the book, she would not only die, but also unleash enough demons to devastate a city like a normal Grail War normally did.

With the allies that they picked up, there might be an opportunity to remove the book, but the Jewel Seeds would become a last resort for them.

As you made plans to take the kids on a small 'vacation' to Misaki City and retrieve the two Jewel Seeds from the territory of the Tohno family (the Tsukimura family letting them know of the Seeds so they would assist in retrieval), Irisviel brought in a couple of TSAB medical officials to help with Hayate's problem.

And the Arthra broke into chaos.

The book that was killing Hayate was, to them, a dangerous legendary Lost Logia, one that brought about destruction whenever it has appeared.

The Book of Darkness, usually appearing in those that sought power for their purposes, whether it be conquest, research, or another goal. The presence of the Wolkenritter, the four knights consisting of Signum, Vita, Shamal, and Zafira, was the usual sign of the presence of the book, serving the current master of it without question.

The Book drained the prana of the current holder, which would eventually kill them. To offset the drain on themselves, they and the Wolkenritter were able to drain others, even going so far as to kill them by draining in the case of Shamal. If enough prana is gathered, the book would normally activate and devastate a world, perhaps even destroying it outright. If the host was killed before it gathered enough prana, it would instead use the prana gathered to move to another host and resume gathering more prana.

The only way that the book would be freed of its current host was by the host's death.

When pressed, the Wolkenritter said that they had only partially drained a half-dozen people months ago, and only in one incident had they lost their patience and tried to drain someone to kill them, who had seemed immune. They had been hoping that the Jewel Seeds could be used to fill the book to prevent Hayate from dying, but they heard about no monsters coming from the book, seeing that they all seemed to die before all the pages of the book were filled and be reborn when they had a new master. Whoever was draining the population of Uminari, it wasn't the Wolkenritter or Hayate herself, but they seemed to be wanting the book completed anyway.

Chrono Harlaown was angry at the Lost Logia that had cost him his father twelve years ago, and wanted it destroyed. Other minds on the ship seemed to agree with him, while the rest of the ship was split on what to do with it. A couple of people wanted to seal the girl away in permanent stasis to prevent the Book from doing anything in the future, others wanted to try to extract the book from the girl without killing her.

However, no one was happy when she seemed to be kidnapped from under everyone's noses.

The same night, you received a call from Sachiko Nakamura. She sounded weak, saying that she had been killed by a catgirl, of all things, and requested that Shichirou get her family crest once she finally passed away. She also requested that you hunt down the catgirl who had killed her.

As soon as the call was finished, you received another call, from the Tsukimura, saying that a catgirl had tried to drain the Tsukimura family and Fate. Hina also wanted to know what to do with the corpse, especially since there were markings on its clothes that linked it back to the TSAB.

And then, during the phone call, another catgirl tried to drain you of your Od. A few bullets made it turn tail and try to run, but you shot it in the back of the head, killing it.

Later inquiry with Harlaown linked the two catgirl familiars to Admiral Griham, who had taken his own ship and was now hurrying back to Mid-Childa. As much as they wanted to help out with the Jewel Seeds, the Arthra needed to chase after the more dangerous Lost Logia before the Admiral did something stupid with it. They had enough problems with the Cross, and despite the damage the Cross was doing to them, they still liked their own world and had an obligation to prevent it from being destroyed.

That said, you are free to go along with them to Mid-Childa, and three of the Wolkenritter were going with them in order to try to save Hayate, but you would likely lose control of events on Earth.

It was a good plan, but something early on in it drove the rest of it off the rails.

Note that, unless specified, Fate will remain on Earth due to escape risk, Vita will remain on Earth due to her experiences with the moon, and the rest of the Wolkenritter will be going after Admiral Griham.

Good luck, and happy 4th.

Clusterfuck intensifies... I'm leaning towards the Book of Darkness. Enough Jewel Seeds are sealed that the amount of bullshit that can be unleashed has been nerfed.

Leave Graham be for now. He's not evil, he just doesn't see any way to save everybody. He honestly has a lot in common with Kiritsugu. Also, since Hayate is the one who has the Book of Darkness, Graham can't actually do anything right now.

Let's not leave Earth. With Zouken, the Einzberns, and Precia running around, there's still a ton that can go wrong here. Protect our homes and families before worrying about the rest of the multiverse.

Leaving Earth is probably too risky. I swear. This gets more borked with every update.

Where is the Jewel Seeds currently? Is the place safe enough? I think the plans will be hinged upon those two points.

If the Jewel is safe enough, we could save Graham, but put the Jewel Seeds as priority first. Earth first before Mid-Childa, after all.

The scale of the disaster the Book of Darkness can cause is planetary scale.

Precia would follow us, simple reason: We have the Jewel Seeds she wanted.
Zouken, honestly, is a nonissue for a while now, he got his ass kicked so hard he'd be spending the rest of the year rebuilding.

The Einzberns are city level threat. Tops.

[X] Priority: Book of Darkness: Follow after Admiral Griham
-[X] Have Fate go under the custody of the TSAB for the time being.

The thing is though, Hayate is on Earth, and unless Graham is near Hayate, he can't do shit about the Book of Darkness. The Wolkenritter chasing after Graham doesn't mean Hayate is leaving Earth. Thus, Graham isn't a threat.

There's also the fact that, canonically, Graham isn't at all a villain. He's more like what you would get if one of Kiritsugu's plans to sacrifice the few to save the many got interrupted and ruined by a group of Shriou-tier idealists with insane amounts of power.

His whole schtick is that he wants to stop the endless cycle of death and destruction caused by the Book of Darkness, but he can't find any way to pull it off except cryogenically freezing both the book and its master right at the moment that the book gets completely filled. If the master doesn't die then the book won't choose a new master.

Staying on Earth with Hayate and letting the Wolkenritter go after Graham alone is the safest option.

Graham currently has Hayate.
Kidnapped by catgirls.

Theres quite a lot of catgirls being seen. How sure are you?

Because they took down the Wolkenritter, Nanoha AND Fate pretty quickly in canon.

Then back to Graham...he might be of retiring age, but the familiars only have the power of their creator.

Graham is not weak by any standards, especially when he came from Earth.
Think 60 year old mage Nanoha.

He surrendered in canon because he recognized that his plan had failed, but he originally planned to freeze all of Earth with the Book of Darkness by himself using Durandal

Pretty sure he only planned to freeze Hayate and Reinforce, not the entire Earth.

He was going to seal the whole planet away in ice. That's the only way to be sure.

The book of darkness being a planetary scale disaster, anything less would not have sufficed.
