Anything. If you think up something your Element can do that would help in a fight, mention it to Crow and he'll set a TN. Make the roll and you'll get benefits.

History:

Born to a mixed Eurasian couple (her father was Alexandre Henri Lasalle de Montfort, a French madical doctor and relief worker, her mother Asakura Hinako a Multilingual translator), Aurora grew up partially on the road and partially in the lorraine home of her father.
The couple had always had problems with her maternal familly {her branch of the Montforts being near extinct]
, but other than that .... she had an happy child hood.
Her father was a great fan of chivaleric romance and she grew up with the legends of Roland, King Arthur, Godefroy de Buillion and Bayard...with the chivaleric ideal.. and the burning wish to be like the kinghts of old.
Not like the Damosels in the tales.
Perhaps the illness her mother contracted during charity work in a third world country made her identify more with male rolemodels like her active and vigorous father then her ailing and three years hospitalized mother.. who knows?
After her mother died her formidable Grandmother Sakura managed to pressure her father over the course of three years to give her over to her and the rest of the Asakura Clan, where she has lived for almost four years now. She had stayrd close to her father, managing to write and mail him constantly....
Until he died this spring, when a clinic he worked in got taken by Taliban and then forcibly retake by Allied forces...

What kind of girl are you?

A somehat cracked idealist, full of desperate hope..
While Aurora is by now very aware of the fact that heroes die, good intent is not enough and happy endings not guarateed, and she can snark about it with the most cynical, in the end she doggedly and with great zeal pursues her ideals of honor, duty and compassion.
while something as gauche as "Hero of Justice"would never pass her lips, that what she aspires to with all her redheads passion.

In her interactions with others she comes across as a friendly, helpful person.... who can and does explode into hot, burning anger at injustice and cruelty.
She is not one to easily compromise her ideals and millitant in defending them.
However, that also makes her unwilling to steal or nab gems....
She is also quite willing to cooperate, but heaven might help traitors.

Crisis: Recently, someone has been following Layla at her home and school. Layla has tried to confront them, to see whether they were fan or a felon. But before she could, the stalker has always managed to elude her. While Layla has gone through some lengths to prevent them from seeing anything magical, it's only a matter of time before they become a big problem.

What kind of girl are you?
A semi-serious girl who is the captain of the kendo club. Calm, quiet, and makes rather off-putting and inappropriate jokes. Her left arm is carried in a sling, and examining it reveals that it is horribly scarred, and has very little feeling. Even so, not only can she still use it, but it works even better then it should because she cannot feel the strain, though she's well aware it gets damaged the more she uses it. Because of her age and the fact she was kept back a year in school due to being hospitalised, she comes off as a sempai type.

In many ways, best described as a cheeky shrinemaiden. Her parents are the caretakers of the local shrine, and she has practised a number of different martial arts and is technically a master of three. Her quick growth is only possible due to being a Magical Girl, however.

What drove you to make a Pact?
Two and a half years ago, Shana was involved in an incident involving the burning of a park by a particularly powerful Youma. She was offered the contract in order to live, where many others died. In the same incident, her arm was horribly damaged.

What is your wish?
Shana has no personal wish. While she has slowly been gathering seeds, she hasn't yet thought of what to do with them. A recent incident that put her in hospital has rendered her seed count minimal.

Magical Element:
Purification. A broad element that technically encompasses all possible purification techniques, however, in Shana's case, natural disposition lends to sealing charms, mantras, and unbelievable amounts of holy fire.

Magical Power:
The ability to apply the full force of her entire body to one part of it. In practical terms, the ability to operate at peak physical strength, whether it be her pinky or her entire body. As a result, she is unusually strong and unusually fast. However, even at peak strength, the power difference as a human compared to her Magical Girl form means that even at her strongest, she is weaker as a human at her strongest then she is at her weakest transformed.

Weapon: A ornate old katana, made for someone about six feet tall. It's a bit long for Shana, but she doesn't mind the length, using it as if it was not an issue.

Sempai is Mad: Due to her red eyes, she is quite intimidating when she's angry, but generally only the Kouhai feel the brunt. (+1 during intimidation, but only if the target is younger)
Calm Maiden: When she is calm, it spreads to everyone else. (+1 to calm others down, but only if she is calm herself).

Archetype:
Strikers: The damage-dealers. They get a +1 damage with any Magical Attack, and can use their Overwhelm ability to reroll 1s on Overcharge dice incurred by an attack. These guys focus on bringing down youma hard and fast.

Magical Effects:
Impact
(Free Action, 1 Overcharge [Attack])
Activate this ability while rolling damage on a Magical Attack. Increase the attack's damage by 1, and roll an extra 1d6 and drop the lowest die. This may be performed after seeing the damage roll.

Interception
(Special Action, 1/Battle)
Activate this ability when an enemy declares an action other than Revive or makes a Defense Challenge. This ability may be used after the initial roll has been seen, as long as the action has not been fully resolved yet. Make an unclashable, uncoverable Normal Attack on the enemy with a +2 bonus to damage. If this attack is successful and deals damage, the enemy takes a -3 penalty to the action it was trying to perform.

Signature Attacks:
Demonic Sword Technique: Imperial Flame Funeral
A powerful sword skill that is possessed by Shana. Really, it is a repurposed sword kata that utilises an excessive amount of flame, but she pretends that it is a genuine sword skill. Deployment is swift and brutal, consisting of nine blows to vital organs and other limbs and targets in an order of priority. Has the bonus effect of purifying the target; in the case of Youma, causing significant problems.

Disrupting Assault attacks throw your enemy off their game - they hit for an extra d6 points of damage, and upon hitting the enemy, they weaken them temporarily.

Crisis:
A certain Youma whose method of creating a Nightmare Realm is burning locations has returned. Shana has sworn to see it destroyed, but recovery must come first.

Relationships:
Kendo Club (Friend 2): As the captain of the Club, Shana gets along with everyone quite well.

Honho no Shinken (Mentor 3): The reclusive master martial artist who regularly prays at the shrine the family keeps. Shana's teacher in all things martial arts related. Whilst he is aware that she is a Magical Girl, he leaves the problem of Youma to her. Notable in that he can defeat Shana in her Magical Girl form. Just how strong is this old man?

Youma of the Burning Eyes (Mortal Enemy 4): The monster of Shana's dreams, the first Youma she slayed and probably the last Youma she will slay. No matter how hard she tries, the seed always escapes, and the monster returns. At this point, it's obvious that the Youma has some sort of self resurrection ability.
 
Anyone else notice there's a lot of similarity betwern some of these apps? I'm tempted to submit the brick wall sukeban Guardian to diversify things a bit.

There once (About a year ago, but shush) lived a Magical Girl named Kaori. Like most, she had friends, friends she didn't tell about her monster-hunting habits. Like many, they eventually started getting worried about their friend's habit of disappearing at odd times to do something they didn't know about. One day, one of them, a girl named Sakura, followed her on her Youma hunt. She saw an incredible and terrifying world of magic her friend kept hidden from her, the world inside a Nightmare, where civilians slowly died. And, shortly afterwards, she joined their ranks, seized by a familiar before she could catch up with her friend.

Kaori didn't even find out for weeks, her friend's body integrated into the Nightmare before it disappeared. She only put two and two together when Sakura was declared missing, and stayed that way. Another victim of the city's habit of getting people to go missing, the Youmas' predations. Still, once she did, she didn't know what to do. Kaori could have moved on. She could have mourned, dried her tears, and continued moving forwards. But she had body-modification magic. What good was it if she couldn't fix this?

So she summoned up all the magic she had. In the greatest ritual she'd performed since she became a Magical Girl, she slowly, painstakingly, recreated her friend's body and filled it with memories. She created Sakura in her mind and filled the body with her memories, the actual memories filling around what she knew of the girl. But... It didn't turn out well. The memories and body were perfect, but she made both at once. Even one would be a strain, force her to take Overcharge. Both at once was too much. The backlash was too much, and a Youma was born where the Magical Girl once was, leaving behind the girl to go create a Nightmare. And to top it off, she missed the most important part. She may have made the memories, she may have made the body, but she didn't make the girl.

When the girl that would have been Sakura woke up, she was rather surprised. After all, the last thing she remembered was dying. She went off, looking for Kaori to find out what was up with all the magic shit. She didn't find her, and was forced to go home. So she did, and started living the routine again, noting that Kaori was missing completely from school. So she worried about her for the next couple weeks, and as she did so she worried about something else. She noticed she was acting a bit different, and not just from stress. Things she once enjoyed, people she once liked, foods she'd once hated, even her family... They just didn't feel the same for some reason. Things had changed, and she didn't know why. And then, one day, she met a three-tailed cat who explained what happened.

She heard the explanation, that she was created by magic with the original Sakura's memories and made a snap decision: She was not that girl. So in that case, she would be her own person. She immediately made a contract with the Tsukaima, becoming a Magical Girl, and left Sakura's home. She probably would have lived on the street, and not very well, for the sake of not having to keep being Sakura and live with her family, knowing that she isn't her. Thankfully for her, however, Lakshimi offered a solution. Being a Magical Girl is like a part-time job except that she risks her life already, right? So she was provided a stipend for renting an apartment in another city, away from anyone that might recognize her as the girl that ran away from home, an identity, and even transfer papers to start at a new school.

As she was riding in a bus to the city she'd be living her new life in, she thought on what name she wanted. She wasn't Sakura any more, after all, so she needed a new name. In the end, by the time she got off, she decided upon Ai. A simple name, but it was hers.

What kind of girl are you? Ai, first and foremost, wants to be her own person. She deliberately avoids activities Sakura enjoyed, goes out of her way to do new things, and takes special effort to make new friends. The last is a bit difficult now, though. She finds that she cares easily about others, magnified in those she sees as friends. So lying to them about her nature as a Magical Girl hurts.

She has a tendency to trust people, liking to see the best of them. For example, she doesn't look for a catch if someone's being nice, because people don't need a reason to be nice, right?

Also, she's fairly quiet naturally, but tries to be outgoing around people. Partly because Sakura was a quiet person, partly because it's easier to make new friends if you're talkative. Still, this does mean she tends to clam up when she's not making the effort to be sociable, like in stressful situations.

Lastly, she has a weakness for cute animals. Gotta pet the fluffy! Not even the threat of claw marks can stop he from going out of her way to pet dogs, cats, or Tsukaima.

What drove you to make a Pact? She wants to be her own person, not Sakura. Sakura wasn't a Magical Girl, Ai is. It's not enough, of course, but it was a definite way to start her life.

What is your wish? She wants to get rid of all Sakura's memories. Not the knowledge, she doesn't want to regress to a mental infant, but she can do without another person's memories.

Crisis: The Youma that once was Kaori, shockingly, is a bit obsessed with the "Sakura" she made. After it got settled in, Nightmare made, it started stalking her. It's taken a few months to find her in the new city, but it has now. She's got the feeling of being watched uncomfortably often lately.

Magical Element: Time

Magical Power: She can fade away into intangibility. While this prevents her from being affected or seen, she also can't affect anything else. Also, the time fading in and out renders her completely vulnerable so doing either in a combat scenario is a big no-no.

Weapon: Two lances of black stone, one four feet long, one eight. If being a Magical Girl didn't make her stronger, she'd be unable to wield the longer one at all, but with the transformation, she wields one in each hand like they weigh as much as reeds. Uniquely, while the shafts are as normal spear shafts to her hands, anything else will find them more like blades, from any angle. This allows her to use them as oversized swords if she wants, and makes grabbing onto the shaft a very unwise decision.

Talents:

Adorable: Look at those big puppy-dog eyes? How can you stay mad at that? (+2 to making people stop being mad at/irritated with her, but only if she's not deliberately doing it.)
Secret-keeping: She doesn't like lying to people, but it's been necessary for her. So far, no one but Lakshimi knows about her being a Magical Girl or about her unique nature as a magically-created person. (+2 to deflecting someone's questions about a secret she has. -1 to being happy afterwards.)
Track Club Member: It's what it says in the name. Short or not, she's surprisingly fast. (+1 to running challenges.)
Stubborn: Once she gets her mind set on something, she's not going to stop. Obviously, the number one example is her refusal to have anything to do with the person she was made to be, but it extends to not being a graceful winner too. If she does, she's liable to demand a rematch. (+1 to a physical challenge against someone that beat her at whatever the challenge is previously.)

    • Once per battle you may learn whether your enemy is Uninjured (full Resolve), mildly injured (over 2/3rds Resolve remaining), injured (between 2/3rds and 1/3rd Resolve remaining), or badly injured (less than 1/3rd Resolve remaining.) In addition, if the enemy is a Youma, you also learn whether they are above or below one half of their maximum Power Points. You may use this ability more than once per battle by spending 1 Overcharge. This is a Free Action.

Healing Light
(Normal Action, 2/Battle, 1 Overcharge)

Restore 1d6+2 Resolve to an ally of your choice. A Magical Girl may only benefit from one use of Healing Light per round.
Ai rewinds time for the wounded party, just a bit, reverting them to the state they were in before they were wounded.

Feint
(Reaction, 1/Battle)
Activate this ability after you succeed or fail on a non-Signature attack (or successful Clash). That attack was merely an elaborate distraction. Reduce the Overcharge taken on the attack by 1. You are now considered free to act, as if you had not attacked. However, pulling off such a move does not leave you with enough time to execute a Signature Attack that turn. If the attack was successful, it deals half final damage (rounded up), but you may force your target into a disadvantageous position, giving it a -2 penalty to attack one ally of your choice until the beginning of your next turn.

Used with a circling attack, Ai tries to get behind the opponent. Naturally, of course, they turn, but as soon as the first attack is made, whether it connects or not, she reverts her position to how it was before she attacked, stabbing the opponent in their unguarded back.

Signature Attacks:
All Signature Attacks cost 1 Overcharge, usually on Attack, to use.
You can use another, but it costs 2 Overcharge.

Time Shatter Ultra: Ai hurls both spears at an opponent, connecting both throws at the same time. However, rather than impale the foe, they shatter, pieces floating in the air around the target. The target itself is frozen in time, unable to move or be affected by anything. When the effect ends, however, all damage from attacks is inflicted upon them at once. (Also, the spears reappear in Ai's hands, the pieces vanishing, when the effect ends.)
Your attack holds your target in place, imprisoning it in a manifestation of your element. If it hits, the target has the Arcane Prison (Resist TN15 Support) condition applied to it. While this condition is in effect, the target may not attack or use abilities that cause opposed Support challenges

Time Warp
With a focused effort, Ai rewinds time even further than she does for Healing Light, removing wounds by making it so they never happened, even to the point of restoring someone's costume.
If you've lost all your Resolve, you're in serious trouble, and this action is the only way to get yourself back up and into the fight. First, make a TN13 Physical challenge to see if you can gather the strength to continue fighting. On a failure, this action fails and your turn ends. On a success, you proceed to the next step with no bonuses or penalties, and on at least one raise you gain a +2 bonus to the next roll. After you succeed on your Physical challenge, you make a TN14 Support challenge. On a failure you take 2 Overcharge and go to 1d6 Resolve. On a success you take 1 Overcharge and go to 1d6+3 Resolve, and on a success with at least one raise you take 1 Overcharge and go to 1d6+6 Resolve. 16 Any successful use of this action causes a 1 penalty to future revives, as the toll of the massive damage you have suffered begins to overwhelm you. This penalty is cumulative for each revive.
Activating this Signature Attack puts Overcharge on Support instead of Attack. Will of the Protector allows you to Revive another Magical Girl. The Physical challenge is automatically passed, you roll the Support challenge and take the Overcharge for them, and they revive with 3 additional Resolve. Alternately, you may cast your protective energy over all of your allies and yourself, which restores 4 Resolve to each ally, as well as grants them a +2 bonus on their next Defense challenge.


Relationships

Lakshimi: Ally 3 (This may be one-sided on Ai's part, without Lakshimi providing the actual benefits. Rather, it's just how Ai feels.)

It shouldn't be surprising that Ai trusts Lakshimi completely, given all the cat's done for her. Making her a Magical Girl, giving her an identity, a home (Or at least an apartment), a school, a life... Even if it was done to have a useful Magical Girl around, she didn't have to go so far as getting her transfer papers to the school. And so Ai won't hear anything bad at all about the Tsukaima that's given her an opportunity to have a life.

Minako Karisawa: Mentor 1

She's Ai's apartment manager, the person who makes sure the utilities are running, everyone's following the rules, etc. She helped Ai a lot when she first moved in, Sakura's memories not really helping her with living alone. It's thanks to her that she knows how to cook, shop, keep the place clean and tidy, etc. The two don't exactly hang out, but they're on fairly good terms.

Track club: Friend 2

The first friend she made in her new school (Or anywhere) was a member of the track club, who promptly invited the new, clubless student to join. Since then, she's gotten to know the whole group, and enjoys spending time with them even outside the club. They're a really nice, laid-back group, perfect to hang out with! Karaoke nights are especially fun, since she can rib on Aizawa for his singing voice.
In all fairness, I've been working on her since the OOC went up. I'm just slow. Also deleted it once and had to redo.

Anyway, thoughts on the revamped power/skills for Not!Nobu? Gave me a bit of trouble thinking of what to put for those, and I'm really not all that satisfied with the current decision on the power...
Like the talents. it works pretty well though I dont know how to feel about that magical effect...
