Command and Conquer: Tiberium Apocalypse

[X] Plan: Behind every great leader there is an even greater logistician.

Gonna break the tie in favor of this, mammoth swarm is great but probably not we're looking for initially.

Pretty much all of the terrible things that have happened in this series can be pinned on Kane. If we don't wipe out the Brotherhood now, we may never get another chance. Earth can't heal so long as he remains part of the equation.

Since we appear to now be one of the central figures in GDI now, what are the chances we'll run into characters from the previous game who's absence was never explained (Solomon, McNeil, and Cortez to name a few)?

Solomon is probably dead by now, no. Or at least, very elderly and retired.

Mcneil was alive in the spin-off novel (apparently it was terrible) .
Not sure what's up with Cortez.

Also, you can add a medium armor support unit to an armored division, but it will lead to both commanders malding over whoever made the decision to give the armored division more predator tanks instead of something that adds more utility.

Sorry not sorry. I'm focusing on armour for the armoured division for the armoured unit commander.

Marvs would be ideal if they were an option. But, they're not. And I don't want mammoths slowing us down, or falling behind the main force.

Ultimately, mammoths issues are known. They're powerful. And it's for precisely that reason that nod will retreat from them or avoid them.

So getting marvs for instance, is more about their utility in harvesting/clearing tib than their direct combat potential.

Lastly, predators are good. Yeah, just getting more predators doesn't get us different tools to react to different threats. But it means we can either spread our predators out to respond to more threats, or concentrate force together. Or just simply have replacements in case of casualties.

tldr: Thank you for the warning and the suggestion. I'll stick with predator tanks thank you very much.

Bakken will never stop complaining about whoever in the GDI admin made the decision to give her more Predators instead of some Mammoth Tanks

The armored unit commander doesn't get a bonus for armored unit useage. She gets a bonus for proper armor unit useage.
I think we're getting a hint here that you're setting her up for improper useage of armor, which means she'd take a malus.

Also, her force is very weak on anti-air.

Being limited to APC's and infantry pointing their gun up to fight of Gunships and stealth bombers is going to suck.

Zone raiders also have anti-air. *sulks*

Frankly she can suck it up. Without knowing exactly what we're going up against, nor even the exact mission or where any enemies might be I'm keeping to flexible more generalist units.

Mammoths are powerful but specialised.

For all I know We're going into an insurgency with buggies and bikes popping shots at us and fleeing before the mammoths can shoot back. or the mammoths would be just big juicy slow moving targets for stealth tanks to unload on then vanish.

But the flip side is, if we get military police for anti-insurgency role, how well are they going to stand up against waves of scorpion tanks?

Predators are a safe generalist option which can reasonably respond to a variety of scenarios. And if nothing else ensure we have reserves in the case of losses.

I repeat: In-character, both Commanders agree that this is frankly a baffling decision which I will absoloutely milk for story.

What the thread has chosen here is 'more Predator tanks'. Which would be fine, if the average thread GDI is likely to run into can be most effectively solved by 'more Predator tanks'.

However, there is every reason to believe that most issues we are likely to run into are not issues where 'more Predator tanks' are going to be helpful, because we are already going to be throwing around half a dozen battalions or more of Predator tanks around. Nod isn't stupid and against a force like that, they would pull out counters that are effective against Predator tanks.

Those potential counters are; aircraft, hit and run teams of motorbikes with AT missiles, stealth nonsense, light infantry in fortified positions operating from ambush, mines, and artillery. More Predator tanks do not provide a cost effective answer to a threat that is designed to chew up Predator tanks and spit out death and ruin.

Potential effective counters are; air defenses, stuff that can break light vehicles, recon with scanners, expanded infantry support and/or artillery, engineering detachments, artillery and/or air support.

..eh, at the worst, the MC will be providing AA for Bakken. The extra Medium Armor... well, we'll see how it goes but double-downing should be interesting, hopefully.
