Act on Opportunity (Mercenary/RA2 Quest)

[X] Write in: Try to find this "Shepard" person who you heard over the radio. They're obviously SA military and it might be useful to meet them.

[X] Networking!
I hate networking. But if quest protagonist proxies it for me, I don't have to do it IRL, right? (Sadly, it does not work that way...)

Week 1.5 (End of Week)
[X] Try to loot (Warning: Chance to fail)

Required: 60 Rolled: 98+4 (Int)+ 3(Perception)=105 (Crit) [10 XP]

Fortunately either nobody from the security forces decided to so much as bat an eye when you started to search the corpses and vehicle wreckage or they were too busy taking care of their wounded of which there were still quite a bunch of them, no matter how badly the attack went. Regardless, the search mostly turned up heavily worn AK-47s and equally badly looking rocket-launchers until you actually found something surprisingly decent. An AK-74 of surprisingly good quality with some ammunition, apparently pretty new too which means that the rebels actually managed to either buy a whole batch of factory new weaponry on the blackmarket or they just managed to hijack a Soviet arms convoy somewhere far off in Afghanistan. Anyway, its yours now.

Now just to wait a few more hours until you can leave...

Reward: 5000 $, Medium Quality Assault Rifle (+10 on Big Guns Mastery, only useable against light Vehicles), Perk: Prism Familiarity: Intermediate (+10 on attack rolls with Prism Weaponry), Perk: Guardsman: Beginner (+5 on Perception check while on Guard duty or similiar), +1 EU Relations, 40 XP

Combat Result:
EU: No casualties
Scorpion Cell: 28 Infantry dead, 3 Vehicles destroyed

Battlefield controll terminated.
(So... thanks to insane crits and general high rolls which I would usually only expect on my old quest you finished the whole mission by only firing two shots. Yay...)

As long as you ensure that Teron-dice don't somehow turn us into the battlefield commander -- as long as frequent crits just mean we're a very successful mercenary, rather than "you just got promoted to Commander of NATO' or something -- you should be fine. Nice to see the hilariously good dice are still rolling... :D
