In ancient times, great heroes of a superhuman race set the stage for all that Mankind holds dear.
Chapter 0 - The Lore (Part 1)
Location
USA
It is the Seventh Age since your people, the Atarashani, came to dwell in this realm of carnal pleasures, and subtle delights. It is the Second Age of Man, arisen from their place amongst the mud and dust in pursuit of higher things. Things such as fire, the speed of travel, and satisfaction for their great Hunger and Thirst -- those being Knowledge and Inner Peace. These are treasures of the Atarashani, not to be given lightly or allowed into the hands of dirt-dwelling animals such as these. The great sage amongst your people, Ustemazda, decreed that the pearls of your people shall not be cast before swine. While his original meaning was to avoid throwing your riches to the ungrateful and undeserving, the axiom has been reinterpreted to mean "what belongs to the Atarashani stays with us, and cannot be allowed to fall to the beasts." Like the apes of the jungle, these Men are articulate beasts, prone to wander, observe, and make excellent use of their upright bodies and capable hands. But they are beasts all the same.

Many of your people came to this realm so they might build, plant gardens and tend to them, and spend their days contemplating great truths of the universe. For this purpose, the sovereign head of your people, Khvarenah, has created a host of servants to guide the people, ensuring they will not fall to vice and neglect. At the forefront of this host are the Seven Virtues. Their commander is Atardami, the Creation. He represents life and purity, and the many realms and creatures. His counsel is to preserve what has been provided, and nurture it.
- Ereshumata, the Just, represents moral integrity and sound reason. His counsel is to first seek what is right, then act upon it.
- Ratuvaco, the Proclaimer, represents honesty and conviction. His counsel is to say nothing, unless one can be sure the words one says are true.
- Suradahyu, the Power, represents the strength and integrity of Khvarenah's domain, and of all the Atarashani living in it. His counsel is to be strong, to stand firm, and be not shaken.
- Raocahdata, the Law, represents the binding forces that govern every object, creature, and force in Khvaernah's domain. Her counsel is to know your ally, your enemy, your birthplace, and your grave. All in between is a battlefield.
- Kehrpvispa, the Wholeness, represents balance and health in the body. By nature, all the Atarashani live in perfect health for thousands of years, but there are things in this realm that can soil that wholeness. Her counsel is to abstain from those things.
- Baeshazazasta, the Eternal, represents the living precept of the Atarashani people -- to live forever and cherish the world uninterrupted. Her rather cryptic counsel is to serve only one master. While the original intent was to serve oneself first and foremost, letting the concerns of others fall into place only when one's own needs are met, it has since been interpreted to mean "serve Khvarenah only, and in so doing, you will live a long and prosperous life."

For their undying service, Khvarenah has rewarded the Seven Virtues with dominion over parts of his domain, under his supreme authority. To Atardami was given the right to oversee Man and stand watch over all. To Ereshumata was given all cattle, and all lesser beasts. To Ratuvaco was given fire and all heavenly lights. To Suradahyu was given metal and crystal. To Raocahdata was given the stone, the soil, and all the world below. To Kehrpvispa was given the many waters. Baeshazazasta was appointed to watch over all the gardens of the realm.

Chapter 0 - The Lore (Part 2)
But the world is not at peace. For even as Men and lesser beasts war with each other over food and mere parcels of earth, so did an Accuser take wing among the people. He is the enemy of Atardami, and has created followers to oppose the other Virtues.
- To oppose Ereshumata, he created Wickedness, whose dark counsel is to act quickly, before what you have is taken from you.
- To oppose Ratuvaco, he created Despair, whose dark counsel is to spread the news of danger to all the people, lest you all be destroyed.
- To oppose Suradahyu, he created Rebellion, whose dark counsel is to be like water in an underground stream; always moving, always in shadow, taking life and livelihood from the unsuspecting.
- To oppose Raocahdata, he created Tyranny, whose dark counsel is to suppress the knowledge of those in your power, lest they overcome you.
- To oppose Kehrpvispa, he created Destruction, whose dark counsel is to seek what is pleasant, what is desirable, with no regard for yourself or others.
- To oppose Baeshazazsata, he created Poison, whose dark counsel is to ruin life and cause anarchy, so that no one person can rule himself or another.

To them was given a driving force, that they would take all they could from the Virtues, and destroy what they could not take. Wickedness seeks to claim the cattle and lesser beasts. Despair seeks to claim fire. Rebellion seeks to claim metal and crystal. Tyranny seeks to claim the land. Destruction seeks to claim all sources of water, even the sea. Poison seeks to ruin all gardens in the realm. All these things will be given to the Accuser, so he might use them to tempt Man into his service, promising to make them a greater force than the Atarashani (but conspiring to make that force live under his control).

Chapter 0 - Creating Your Hero
You are a proud warrior of the Atarashani, brought into the realm during this current Age. Man has walked upright longer than you have dwelt here. Your body is what Man would describe as "perfect," being muscular, upright in posture, hale of shape, and able to strive and work for many weeks without rest (if you should so choose). More to the point, you have greater control over it than any common beast. Your default, comfortable height is two meters tall (6'6'' in Imperial), but you can ascend to three or four meters at will, can strain to grow up to 5-10 meters, or may take this the other direction and shrink down. At will, you may shrink to 0.5-1.0 meters in height, but you can also strain to shrink down to 0.1-0.25 meters if you desire. Though your full strength is capable of lifting and tearing mountains, obliterating mighty cedar trees, or causing death to a mere beast with a simple touch, your bodily control allows you to seem as "weak" as an ordinary Man. This is actually quite useful, as a fraction of your power would be damaging to most things you hold dear.

While you can be harmed by external forces such as fire, cold, or biting acid, you can will yourself to resist these forces, even temporarily gain immunity, if you are exposed to them for a short time. In like fashion, you can be wounded, but your will can restore your wounds to wholeness. You do not trip or fumble, you do not hesitate unless you will yourself to move slowly and cautiously. You can see for kilometers in every direction with perfect clarity, hear the finest sound or loudest noise at a distance without strain or discomfort; every sense is tuned to near perfection. You can learn a skill or fighting technique by observing it once, and you can even will the energies generated in your body to emerge and strike the enemy. Not only can this energy appear as an incorporeal yet physical force, a sort of kinetic energy, but you can transmute it into electromagnetism, gravitic forces, or powers to divide motes of matter at the finest scale, or simply heat if you prefer. Though your visage is without flaw, you may change it to whatever you like, then return to normal with ease. These are all standard powers given to the Atarashani, and thus to you. But what is your Purpose?

[] The Solar Disc (under the Virtues and their soldiers, you arbitrate truth and justice; while many among the people believe you guide the daylight across the sky, in truth this realm travels a lengthy path around the Sun, and it is this journey that you oversee. You possess the manifold powers of Solar Manipulation, including Solar Storm, Combustion, Sun Aura, and Plasma Form.

[] The Lunar Disc (you arbitrate wisdom, the domain of astrology; you also guide the Moon in its path around the world, and are lord over those who govern the stars, though you rarely exert direct authority over the stars themselves. You possess the manifold powers of Lunar Manipulation, including Balance over earth, sea, and sky, Magic Mirror, Moon Aura, and Delirium.

[] Death (you arbitrate the sub-surface, the realm where the dead are buried and the spirits wander, where you may bind them to service or release them to paradise. You also hold sway over wildfire, plague, and war. You possess the manifold powers of Afterlife Lordship. Foremost, you may retreat from the living realm to your Underworld from anywhere, and emerge anywhere in the living realm from your Underworld. Your other powers include Psychopomp, Calamity, and Warfare.

[] Shepherd (under Ereshumata, you tend to the needs of the lesser beasts. You are also a provider of fraternal or sororal bonds, parental loyalty, romantic or sexual pining, and the bedside care of the physician. You possess the disparate powers of Menagerie, Infatuation, and Domination.

[] Apothecary (under Baeshazazasta, you tend to the gardens of the realm, and to the dreams of sleeping Atarashani and Man. Your plants may bear toxins for health or harm, or for the bestowal of visions and great mystic powers. You possess the disparate powers of Cornucopia, Dreamscaping, and Intoxication.

[] Strength (you strike fear and admiration in the hearts of Man, monster, and even some Atarashani, as you hold sway over the storms and rain. You are also a great beacon of heroic strength and daring deeds. You possess the disparate powers of Thunder, Forge, and Might. Might is an extension of the normal abilities possessed by the Atarashani, but it is no mere extension. Your power is far greater than anyone else's among your people, only the fiercest of monsters can compare.

(Hey everyone! Hope this new Quest idea is exciting. After placing your vote on what you want your Purpose to be, I encourage you to supply any other ideas to help give the character shape. Are they male, female, both, or neither? What is their name? What do they look like? Feel free to give appearance concepts for Purposes other than your vote, in case you get outvoted. That way, you can still have your voice in the character creation.)

[X] Potential Appearance: In line with Forge Gods such as Haphaetus, Vaul and along those lines. Intentionally takes a form which would be more 'monstrous', 'scarred' and 'imperfect'.

I have very little idea what Atarashani look like.

Shipping Shepherd ho!

[X] Shepherd

I like this (though not for the shipping joke of the other two), the Lunar Disc, and the Apothecary. I am not good at character creation though so I'll just wait for someone else to give a visage.

I have very little idea what Atarashani look like.

" You are a proud warrior of the Atarashani, brought into the realm during this current Age. Man has walked upright longer than you have dwelt here. It's not terribly important, since the Atarashani can change what they look like. But essentially, imagine a very tall (yet proportionately sturdy) human being, who through genetics, plastic surgery, and right living is the picture of health and physical attractiveness. A human who should not exist, because there should be imperfections and life struggles that give the visage its character.

That being said, you are welcome to do what Shard did, and specify that you, unlike all other Atarashani, are imperfect by choice.

The association of Strength is too generic for me personally. If it was some other association that had forge that wasn't also too generic, I'd consider it.
I don't mind 'generic' abilities. They leave more room for player creativity. Plus I think I have not actually seen many quests where protog's defining feature is 'strong'.

I know. I wasn't insulting you for supporting it. I was just explaining why I wasn't willing to tag on to it.

Also, referring more to stories and mythos in general rather than quests. Moon, Shepherd, and Gardener gods don't get enough epic tales.

I like this one vote by @KreenWarrior, it's pretty cool. Reminds me of personages like Chang'e, Princess Kaguya or even Artemis/Diana. It would honestly be a shame to miss out on that.

If you want to copy someone's post, just do the [] with an X in it followed by that person's name.

Chapter 0 - Choosing Your Powers
You are the Shepherd, of herds and wilds and the hearts of other thinking creatures. You will aid the Atarashani people in living their best lives, and may yet awaken Man to a glorious dawn...unless you cause them to destroy each other. Your three base powers are Menagerie, Infatuation, and Domination.

- Menagerie is your gift to attract, gentle, and direct animals, still the raging soul, or inspire rage in your bestial charges. This last choice turns herds into stampedes, and drives predators to go on a bloodthirsty rampage. We will learn more about the power of Menagerie below.

- Infatuation is your gift to entice, soothe, and manipulate thinking creatures through emotion, and build or break social bonds such as bonds of family, romance, or sexual attraction. We will learn more about the power of Infatuation below.

- Domination takes a colder, more analytical approach; it is your gift to magnetize, subdue, and steer thinking creatures by producing, falsifying, or removing their thoughts, likely replacing them with your own or a falsehood created by your mind. We will learn more about the power of Domination below.

Your companion is Airimanh, the Lunar Disc. Sister of Ash Fall the Solar Disc, Airimanh presides over night, and must protect the people from the many savage horrors living in the dark. This strength and compassion are what drew you to her. Unfortunately, it is unlikely your feelings will be requited, as her father Saredhazasta is of high nobility and does not favor you. For the time being, the two of you are very good friends. You also have a mentor, an elderly figure named Ahumhaoma. They are the Apothecary, watching over plants just as you watch over animals. Among other forms of assistance, Ahumhaoma advises you in your love life. Someone has to, seeing as you're the love guru for everyone else.

[] What is your name, Shepherd?
AND
[] What do you look like, Shepherd?

Menagerie is divided into the powers of Animal Empathy, Animal Regeneration, Animal Scrying, Animal Specialization, Beast Affinity, Beast Force, and Taming.

Animal Empathy is the power to sense and understand the emotions of animals, and likewise allow them to sense and understand your emotions. It grants you access to Zoanthropy and Animal Whispering.

Animal Regeneration is the power to regenerate from your wounds by absorbing the biomass of animals you encounter.

Animal Scrying is the power to "hitch-hike" animal senses and share the experience as if you were that animal. It grants you access to Mind Link and Brainload Transfer.

Animal Specialization allows you to empower one of the other six when interacting with a specific kind of animal, in exchange for completely losing power over a different kind of animal. This can be drawn as narrow as desired (for example, specifying flighted birds, waterbirds, storks, or a species of stork, instead of just bird). The categories are Amphibian, Arachnid, Avian, Crustacean, Ichthyoid, Insect, Mammal, Monster, Parasite, or Reptile.

Beast Affinity is the power to gain strength, speed, durability, or other features through contact with animals. This is not theft, but more like a form of inspiration; the power of the animal pools with your own, making your own attributes stronger. It gives you access to Longevity and Prime Condition (among other things).

Beast Force is the power to manipulate, control, and absorb energies released by animals in their natural environment. It gives you access to Animal Avatar, Wild Boost, Power Burst, Beast Aura, Energy Strike, Beastcraft, World Release, Wildsight, Twin Familiar, and Guardian Force.

Taming is a power for making animals tolerant of sentient presence and training those animals to respond to conditions or stimuli. It gives you access to Peace Enforcement and Wildness.

[] Please vote for one base power (e.g. Animal Scrying, but not Zoanthropy), to be your focus. This power will be stronger and easier to use than the others. Having done so, vote for one base power to be locked (you cannot use a locked power at all, until you unlock it later in the quest).

(don't forget to vote for the name and appearance above as well!)

Also, was it intentional that you only wrote about the Menagerie abilities and not Infatuation or Domination?

I'm bad with names and appearances(and searching for one on mobile is a pain), so leaving it for someone else.
