Grasp the Stars (Stellaris: Overlord)

[X] (Doct) Rapid Deployment: Faster sunlight movement speed, longer ship weapon range

[] (Perk) Galactic Force Projection: Naval capacity +80 (136->326, currently using 63), individual fleet capacity +20 (80->100, currently sizes 33 and 30 for First and Second Fleets)
[] (Perk) Grasp the Void: +5 Starbase capacity (currently using 9 of 11), 1.5x chance to discover FTL technologies
[] (Perk) Imperial Prerogative: Reduce administrative costs from planets by 50% (currently reduced from 60->45, would go down 45->30), making technology and traditions cheaper to adopt
[] (Perk) Mastery of Nature: Enable expanding the areas of planets by 2 districts (largest planet (Emesh) is currently size 20, smallest (Kore) is size 12)
Question, since this is our third perk: Can we also choose "The Flesh is Weak"? Because that should be possible after the first two perks are picked. Getting started on our ascension path and all that.

I don't believe flesh is weak was one of the available options - I can check back when I get to my computer, but I don't think it's unlocked. You might lack a specific tech to enable it?

In that case, can we also vote to not take the perk yet? Because the third perk is kinda important. And the available options are all mediocre.

The Murphrid wormhole connects, it turns out, to part of the galaxy controlled by the Mitron Citizen League, near its border with the Prossnakan Alliance. This means UNE ships can skip past the closed-off territories of the Bruggans and Qopinkaxi Republic. Unfortunately, since their ships cannot yet come back through, they have not expressed any interest in forming a negotiated trade agreement.

The first analysis of Lypian combat debris has been completed by Captain Moorthi and the Aldrin, giving hints as to the type of weapons they were using, a form of plasma-based projectile. At the same time, the Peackeeping forces have arrived back into inhabited space and been disbanded to return to their civilian lives.

And speaking of inhabited space, a group of space merchants have arrived in Earth orbit to offer... people.

<Good workers! Healthy! Lifters, draggers, pullers, cleaners.> The small, multi-eared ratlike alien onscreen gestures energetically while squeaking through its trunk. The price demanded - in exchange for the lives and freedoms of thousands of these aliens - is more than two years of all of humanity's refined metal production, well over twice the UN's current stockpile.

Secretary Zhivenkova might have been inclined to purchase and free the people in question, but it's simply not feasible... at least, not without eating into monetary reserves. Doctor Reid supports expanding the UN to include more species as a rule. Doctors Wan and Zarg are both in favor, because the species in question reportedly displays a form of extrasensory perception, which Governor Liang hopes might have military and scientific applications.

This is the obvious choice to me, no matter what I will not support or encourage Slave Trade no matter the benefits it will bring.

Nah. Beyond morality reasons of buying slaves, this guys are also ripping us off. Like ridiculously so

honestly multiple pops just make the Empire more annoying to deal with Because you cant tell certain pops to focus on certain jobs. So you can have a pop thats for Farming and they'll mine, one for mining that will research, one for energy that will farm... So on and so forth. Its just super annoying to deal with, and even then the only real way to deal with it is have the certain pop on the Servant slave state, and unemploy those slave pops, whatever pop you want to work a certain job, and since that pop isn't a servant slave pop, they're unemployed so they'll hop on the first open job before the Servant pops. Thats the only way I know how to control what pop is working where in stellaris.

Nice, psionic workers.
Eventually maybe psionic leaders.

I say buy them, depending on their preferred planet type it could open more planets for colonization.

I'm honestly curious, you do realise that the option is just fluff right? Whether we take it or not has absolutely zero consequences either way in-game. The only way to influence Slave Trade in Stellaris is banning it as a Galactic Law.

Oh yes I know it's mostly fluff but our nation as a whole this would be something they'd be highly against in practice and in theory and thus something I don't see them accepting even if they'd just free them after buying them, and from what I gathered of our past leaders and the nations ethos this would be something that'd abhor and thus be against. I also consider the cost to be a bit too high as well so that's a no from me on that as well. Combined with my own personal dislike for Slavery it's a solid no for me.

I am in the end trying to at least some degree role play here as well so even if it's mostly fluff it's something I doubt our nation would accept from a RP perspective.

Yeah no. The fluff is important here.

Governor Liang fumes across the desk from Secretary Zhivenkova. "It's intolerable," she hisses. "Bodrianite activities are disrupting every major city's local politics. Their agents have been caught blatantly bribing UN representatives. We need to force them off the planet, now."

Crime rates on Earth have hit a tipping point due to the activities of the Bodrianite Syndicate (inferior fleets and technology). Removing their influence will require a de-facto declaration of war, which would also call in the Klaggian Authority (pathetic fleets, inferior technology).
[X] Declare war
-[] Expropriation Casus Belli - force the Bodrianite Syndicate to abandon holdings on Earth
-[X] Ideology Casus Belli - force the Bodrainite government system and ethics to match the UNE's
[] Maintain Peace

Feelers put out by UN diplomats indicate the Sacred Kazam Republic would be willing to join in on military action. This could make the logistics of war easier, but might distract the Kazam from anti-Prikkiki-Ti activities. Invite them?
[] Yes
[X] No
