Brazilian gang member poses for a picture during the "big anarchy," just two weeks
prior to the "Brazilian Annihilation," the major infection outbreak in the country.
Brazilians in Rio protest government incompetence with clamping down on illegal immigration from
so called "plague ridden" countries during the great panic. This photo was reportedly taken on
the night the "big anarchy" was considered to have begun as government officials fled for the remote Andes or private residences.
Above: Photos snapped by an unnamed civilian before promptly being posted on social media. The photos, their location unknown besides being in Brazil, show the beginning of the "Brazilian Annihilation." Military units during this time were utterly disorganized and unprepared for the sweeping and unprecedently rapid security deterioration, even compared to the "big anarchy" just before. Due to a lack of guidance and intelligence, some units would enact harsh and oftentimes draconian measures to halt the infection. Original caption as posted on social media: "They kill anyone who coughs."
As most urban areas were rapidly lost to the "plague," as it was called in Brazil, during the "Annihilation,"
both civilians and federal remnants look shelter among the harsh brazilian jungle and countryside.
